Chapter 57
Chapter 57.51 Knot-tying
“Wow, it’s starting to get lively now~”
Satoru Gojo, leaning on the railing of a rooftop, whistled lightly as he watched the dust and smoke billow up from below.
The dust was split open by a figure, with the leading Cursed Spirit being sealed in a mirror in the blink of an eye, only to be shattered to pieces by those that followed.
The second Cursed Spirit had just stepped on its companion’s bones when a pale fist knocked it in the head, caving its face in, and throwing it like a cut string kite. It collided with a group of Cursed Spirits behind it.
The fallen spirits were trampled over by other Spirits, yet they continued to rise up,嘶鸣着发出嘶哑的吼叫, charging fearlessly ahead towards the two figures.
A few additional Cursed Spirits were sealed and shattered. From behind Hachiman Hikigaya’s weak voice echoed, “Hey, Snow之下, I can’t hold on any longer, shall we retreat first?”
His Curse Energy was nearly depleted. The little Energy he had left was further drained after being forced by Lin Qi to use his Technique on that white-haired man.
Now, barely having used any Techniques, he had run out of Curse Energy.
It was truly life-threatening, and especially so when surrounded by Cursed Spirits. This was all due to Lin Qi’s manipulation.
“You should retreat!” Snow之下 didn’t even glance at him, as she used Aikido to throw an approaching Cursed Spirit to the ground, then kicked off its head, “I’m fine on my own.”
How courageous.
Hachiman swallowed hard and proceeded to seal and destroy a few more Spirits before emptying himself of all curse power and retreating from the battlefield.
He knew staying on the front lines while energy-starved would only burden Snow之下.
“Though quite weak, he did show some decent judgment,” commented Gojo from his observation spot on the roof, watching Hachiman stumble away, “but good assessment skills will do one wonders.”
In fact, Hachiman’s temporary retreat was actually beneficial for Lin Qi. With no rivals around, he could rack up points unchallenged.
Sitting on the shrine, he smirked, counting the incoming points. While each point was not much, seeing his accumulated points rising was comforting.
These were just Fourth and perhaps Third-Level Spirits. With Snow之下’s current strength, though unable to clear the field with one attack, her physical abilities and reaction speed helped her stand out amidst the Cursed Spirits.
Her hair fluttered with each motion. Landing another punch on a Spirit, she leaped back a few steps, creating distance between her and the others.
She then pulled off the red ribbon around her slender wrist, tying up her high ponytail for better mobility.
This red ribbon was bought specially by the girl after seeing Lin Qi wearing a similar ribbon in the same style.
Snow之下 slowly exhaled, her body emitting bluish-green Curse Energy. She pounced swiftly, like an agile hunter.
Under this high-stress combat, the level of her martial arts was steadily improving, her movements faster, strikes fiercer.
“Mmm, solid foundation indeed.” Gojo observed, admiring the goddess-like display from above, “Remarkable physical strength – could it be due to the presence of Sukuna within her?”
It was said that the container holding the double-faced Sukuna must bear unique traits.
Indeed, it was true, just with a slight misstep in understanding – it wasn’t Snow之下’s extraordinary body, but rather the System silently reinforcing her frame to match Lin Qi’s soul’s strength.
Finally, the system’s effect came through. Gojo was moved to tears.
The battle soon ended.
Snow之下 sighed slightly as she surveyed the Cursed Spirits’ corpses, strewn about like storm-battered wheat fields. She felt a surge of satisfaction, akin to the refreshment after prolonged stillness.
On second thought, more than thirty corpses laid around; how had this been reported wrongly?
Misinformation could lead to dire consequences. If someone was hurt because of a mistake, what then?
Snow之下 was somewhat displeased with Gojo’s irresponsible behavior, but fortunately, none were injured, except Hachiman who had exhausted his Curse Energy.
The girl sensed the gaze above and looked up to see the white-haired man on the third-floor balcony waving at her.
“Oh well, looks like I’ve been spotted.” Without a tinge of guilt, Gojo appeared joyful.
Facing superior enemy numbers without panic, the girl’s composure and character were remarkable – a pity Lin Qi had claimed such talent first.
After the fight, out of energy again, Hachiman finally finished his side-observation and returned to Snow之下’s side. Looking at the scattered corpses, he couldn’t help but marvel at their opponent’s formidable strength, vowing secretly never to cross paths with Snow之下 again.
Everyone starts equal, yet why was she so far ahead?
Such was the result of Lin Qi’s personal tutoring?
Well then, Parasitic Bug, how does it sit? Snow之下 glanced at Hachiman beside her, then chose to mentally call upon Lin Qi.
Great job! Lin Qi praised loudly, looking at the points accumulated.
Current points: 17,420
Any higher-level Cursed Spirits, bring them quickly!
Upon hearing Lin Qi’s generous praise, her lips curved into a slight smile, feeling lighter in spirit.
However to Hachiman, it seemed almost frightening to see Snow之下 nodding off contentedly, smiling at the corpses around her.
Could Snow之下 have violent tendencies?
