Chapter 58
Chapter 58 – Lost Finger
Bang!
With the punch landing, the cursed spirit with its head blown up fell limply.
“This should be the last one,” Yukinoshita Yukino panted, straightening her body and surveying the now chaotic cafeteria.
The target cafeteria was cleaned up; it was time to head to the second floor.

“Good, good, keep pushing, keep going.” Lin Qi spoke like an oily supervisor, ostensibly encouraging but actually treating the girl as a point-gathering tool, akin to a CPU.
“Are you thinking something very rude inside?” Yukinoshita Yukino furrowed her brow, finding Lin Qi’s tone similar to when her sister wanted to play tricks on her.
“Why would you think that? What about trust between people?” Lin Qi said remorsefully.
“That’s for people, the Parasitic Bug doesn’t count as a primate.” Although the girl said this out loud, she didn’t delve any further.
“You’re right.” He couldn’t refute it; in his current state, he couldn’t be considered human either.
Yukinoshita Yukino finally silenced Lin Qi with her words. Feeling quite pleased, her lips curved with a smile as she ascended the stairs near the cafeteria toward the second floor, her steps lightened.
From the map on the wall on the first floor, the second floor seemed to house classrooms and multi-purpose rooms for the children; who knew how many cursed spirits lurked here.
After the exhilarating battle on the first floor, Yukinoshita Yukino had a clearer understanding of her capabilities, bolstering her confidence.
Hachiman Hikigaya, due to his depleted curse energy, was kindly taken in by Satoru Gojo to avoid interfering with Yukinoshita’s fight.
Unlike the low-grade cursed spirits clumping together downstairs, Yukinoshita Yukino saw a slender dark figure standing motionless in the middle of the corridor once they reached the second floor.
“Only one?” Yukinoshita Yukino assumed a fighting stance, with blue-green curse energy surging on her fists.
She wasn’t rushing in. This cursed spirit felt different from the weaker ones downstairs. The curse energy radiating from the figure’s shadow was clear evidence.
It surpassed those lower-ranked cursed spirits.
“The weaker the cursed spirit, the more they tend to huddle together; the opposite also stands,” Lin Qi warned, “Be careful. This enemy isn’t the same kind as before.”
“I know.”
Her expression turned grave and wary as she stared at the still-standing shadow.
The slim, lengthy silhouette finally noticed her, its shadowy body twitching, eyeballs brimming with crimson veins popping out and fixing onto Yukinoshita Yukino.
The scene was chilling. Yukinoshita Yukino stepped back, repulsed.
“Don’t… leave me…” Despite appearing eerie, the voice sounded like a child’s.
“D-don’t leave me… ah… huh? Ah!!!”
The sound abruptly paused then erupted again, creating an invisible wave that shattered the windows of the corridor. Yukinoshita Yukino covered her ears tightly, but the blast left her dizziness and ringing in ears.
The shadowy form began writhing unnaturally, as if boiling water bubbling out continuously. The slender form soon expanded to the ceiling, though the cursed spirit kept inflating, causing the ceiling to crack.
The whole building shook violently. Cracks spread over the ceilings, and debris rained down on Yukinoshita Yukino’s head.
“Hey, what’s happening in there?” Hachiman Hikigaya felt the ground tremor under his feet, turning to look at the tall man beside him.
“It’s coming out,” Satoru Gojo smiled calmly.
“What’s coming out?” Confused, Hachiman tilted his head, wondering if this guy was too relaxed.
“A grade two cursed spirit… no, perhaps closer to a grade one,” Satoru Gojo smirked.
“Isn’t that bad!?”
Boom!
A loud noise exploded. Hachiman gripped the railing, looking down to see a huge black hand burst through the wall, scattering debris. Through the cloud of dust, a figure flew out from the second-floor balcony: “Snow之下!?”
The cursed spirit’s gigantic hand swung, forcing Yukinoshita Yukino to protect herself with her arms in front of her. She was then smacked outside, crash-landing hard on the ground. She rolled several times before finally stopping with a thud.
Blood poured from her ears, her Soobu High school uniform covered in dirt and torn. Checking her skirt for wounds, she muttered: “I really need to wear sportswear next time; remember to remind me before battling.”
From the rooftop, Hachiman saw Yukinoshita Yukino get back up. Exhaling a sigh of relief, he realized she wasn’t in danger because Lin Qi was there.
“It’s fine. Curse energy enhances our bodies, so jujutsu sorcerers can endure a lot,” Satoru Gojo said, placing his hand on Hachiman’s back, “We better leave.”
“Huh?” A suction sensation hit Hachiman’s back, causing him to feel weightless, glued to Satoru Gojo’s hand.
Satoru Gojo evacuated Hachiman from the rooftop.
“Look, the rooftop has a hole.” Hachiman said with trepidation, seeing the giant cursed spirit’s bulky body break through the ceiling, emerging from the hole.
“How scary. Is this a quasi-grade one cursed spirit?” Hachiman muttered, still unsettled by the cursed spirit’s size.
“Size doesn’t mean strength. Don’t underestimate enemies based on their appearance,” Satoru Gojo cautioned gently.
Once both landed on the ground, Hachiman was set down.
“By the way, Mr. Satoru, aren’t you going to help?” Hachiman asked.
“Of course not,” Satoru Gojo smiled, “I am assigned to monitor Lin Qi. And that girl doesn’t need my help.”
“Monitor Lin Qi? Why?” wondered Hachiman. Didn’t this guy work with Lin Qi?
The confusion piled up, but Hachiman knew it wasn’t the time to ask. He refocused on the fight between Snow之下 and the cursed spirit.
She had Lin Qi, so if she couldn’t handle that shadow cursed spirit, Lin Qi would finish it off.
Relieved by this reassurance, Hachiman watched the battle unfazed.
Beside him, though, something about the white-haired man seemed odd.
Gazing at a message from the higher-ups on his phone, Satoru’s eyes flashed sharply, then shifted to Yukinoshita Yukino.
A Special Grade cursed object, two-faced Sukuna’s finger, missing!
…
After school, and then become a jujutsu sorcerer
