Invincible in the Shadows

"You can see that?" Jin asked with concern in his voice. He was not sure if it was good for anyone to know what he could do. He knows Eve would never snitch, but he still wants to be sure.

"I can't see it, but I can sense it. It feels strange. Like it is not a physical energy but more like a spiritual energy," Eve said with fascination as she looked at Jin like she was watching a slice of meat on a stick.

Jin shuddered under her gaze. Jin chuckled as she continued watching him. Looking away in embarrassment as Eve came back to her senses. She looked away while rubbing her temple and changed the subject.

"So... What can you do?" Eve asked as she looked at Jin in excitement. Eve was excited at having a friend who was not normal like everyone else, is exciting for her. At least Jin won't tell the whole school about her powers.

Like her "Best Friend" did.

"Well, I can do this." Jin smiled as he activated his Mana Strengthening. His level in the skill is level 3, so his hands glowed with a profound purple outline. 

"Amazing! I can feel the atoms and structures of your body being reinforced and strengthened!" Eve felt her eyes open wide as she watched the energy at work.

The energy from all over Jin's body moved unstable, but when it finally focused on Jin's forearm, it changed everything. Eve could feel that his arms changed fundamentally.

His atoms, bonds and everything in his forearm were covered with energy. The energy reinforced his being. Turning Jin into a better, stronger and more durable version.

"This is incredible... The way the molecular bonds and atoms are changed, charged and shaped... I could replicate it." Eve muttered as she felt the way the energy changed Jin's forearms.

"What? You can do this?" Jin looked at Eve in shock. He knew Eve could control matter and energy, but she could change energy to act like his mana?

That was not weak. In fact, it might be more op than Eve realised, or even Jin realised.

"Yes. I could copy and replicate the way that energy changed your forearms." Eve muttered as her mind entered overdrive. Jin watched as a pink glow enveloped Eve's arm.

"No... I can't replicate it without feeling it more." Eve muttered as she looked at her arms. She looked up at Jin, and she got really close to him. She took his hand into her palm and felt how the energy worked.

"Hmm. It works like this? No, it works like this." Jin stared at Eve with wide eyes as she caressed and touched his palm and forearm. Eve was so concentrated that she did not even notice.

"I got it!" Eve opened her eyes as she made her forearm glow. She clenched her fist and felt her strength and durability increase by 30% in the area that her energy covered.

Eve looked up with a massive smile and shining eyes. Jin was still dazed as he looked down at his palm. Eve was confused at his daze before she suddenly came to her senses.

"Hehehe... I swear, that was not how I usually act." Jin nodded his head, his cheeks slightly red. Eve sighed as she felt her speeding heart calm down.

"Are... mad?" Eve suddenly asked as she looked at Jin. She did copy how his powers worked and wondered if he was mad. If he was, she wouldn't be surprised.

"Not really. You might have copied this skill. But I don't think you can copy anything else. No disrespect." Jin said, with no worries in his eyes or tone. Mana Strenthenign is not really that important to him.

He is a Viltrumite at the end of the day. He can become more powerful the older he is and can increase his stats by levelling up. Superpowers can't truly overcome physical might.

"Oh, thank god! I was worried that you would start to hate me. Sorry. I did not think about what I was doing. Seeing how your body changed caused me to enter a nerd mode." Eve said in embarrassment as she looked at the ceiling in relief.

If she lost her only real friend due to her own mistake, she would probably be sad for months and depressed. 

"Don't worry, Eve. If I stop being your friend just because of this, I was never really your friend." Jin said with a smile. In the end, he isn't here to become the strongest. But to enjoy his new life.

If he is worried about power all day and the troubles that the future will bring. What's the reason he was given this new chance at life? To worry every second?

"Thanks, Jin. You don't know how much this means to me," Eve said genuinely. She never had friends to talk to about her life, and seeing Jin not care made her happy.

"So...You have powers?" Jin said as a smile crept up his face. Eve blinked at his words before her eyes widened. She never told him about her powers. She just randomly pulled this out of nowhere.

"Oh, uh... Yeah. I do have powers. Actually, I want to show you something." Eve said as she looked away in embarrassment. Jin watched as she gloved in a pink light.

Eve's clothes changed with a pink glow, and her hero suit appeared. Her pink suit stuck to her body, showing the female symbol on her chest. Jin smiled as he watched.

"So you are Atom Eve? Jeez, who knew I was studying with one of the world's greatest heroes." Eve smiled as she raised her brow. She jabbed her fist into his arm playfully.

"Well, you can be a hero like me since you have powers," Eve said with a massive smile. Eve wanted Jin to join her as a hero since he already had powers.

"Who said I am not one already?" As Jin said this, his clothes vanished, and his hero suit replaced his clothes. His cape fluttered behind him, a smirk on his face.

"You are the guy that everyone is talking about!" Eve said with surprise as she pulled out her phone. Jinw watched in confusion as a video with millions of views played on the screen.

It was the video of him fighting the bank robbers the other day. It even included the part where Omni-Man flew off with him. The comments were already making theories.

"Is Omni-Man, the world's greatest hero, his father?"

"No! It's his mentor!"

"I think it's both."

Jin raised his brow, but he shrugged since all of them were correct. Plus, if more people speculate, his fame could spread even more.

"You know, a lot of people were talking about you. Especially my hero group, Teen Team," Eve said as she placed her phone down.

"Awww~ You talked about me?" Jin smirked as he teased Eve. Eve rolled her eyes before her clothes returned to their normal ones. Jin did the same, and his clothes were exchanged.

"Well, let's finish this assignment and get you to get better grades for graduation," Eve said with a smirk as she created a piece of paper and pen. Mark stood at attention as he nodded.

"Yes Mam!"

What do you guys think about Eve being able to copy and replicate Mana Strengthening?

In my opinion, she is so underrated in the show. She could literally manipulate matter and energy. There is no way she can't just span things like nuclear fission and create atomic explosions.

She won't be a one-shot character to a Viltrumite.
