"Don't you want to come alive?"

These seven words finally moved Johnny.

But the next second, a wry smile appeared on his face.

"Alex, even though your strange implant prevents the Relic from taking over your body completely, it's still occupying a small part of your brain, allowing you to hear and see me."

"If you want me to come alive, I'd either have to occupy your body or find another way to remove the Relic."

"But doing so would mean only one fate for you: death!"

Alex nodded.

Johnny was absolutely right.

Even for someone like him, who knew so much about the entire cyberpunk world and events both past and future, there were only two ways he could think of.

But...

"Others might die if they take out the Relic, but I won't," Alex smiled confidently.

He knew that when he first tried to activate the Relic, his brain nearly collapsed.

Yet, in the end, he was still standing, ready to face another day.

And even without the auxiliary heart's help, he was confident that the Blacklight Virus could repair the damage after the Relic was removed.

"Is it because of your strange prosthetics?" Johnny asked suspiciously.

Alex nodded again, not denying it.

"Well... I haven't figured it out yet. I don't even know how to describe what I'm feeling now."

Johnny wasn't in a hurry to make a decision.

His expression seemed a little confused.

"Alex, do you know why I hate Arasaka and the Oracle so much?"

Seeing Johnny ask, Alex nodded: "Because they turned you into something else."

"That's right." Johnny gripped the railing in front of him tightly.

"In the face of all this, I couldn't even resist."

"If I do come back to life, who will I be? Johnny Silverhand? Or someone else?"

Alex sighed but didn't say anything further.

These are things no one can convince others about; you have to figure it out yourself.

...

With the Voodoo Boys matter settled, Alex first called Judy.

"Alex? Is something wrong?"

"I just dealt with the Voodoo Boys, and Evelyn is safe."

"Really! You took down the entire Voodoo Boys alone?!" Judy was shocked.

Once she gathered herself, she said, "Thank you, Alex. I'll let Evelyn know."

"In addition, she asked me to thank you for her, regarding the Woodman situation."

Alex nodded: "No problem. I'll hang up for now. Call me anytime if you need anything."

"I won't hesitate," Judy smiled and hung up.

Afterward, Alex called V.

A beautiful face appeared on the communication interface.

"Alex? Is the Voodoo Boys' business finished? Did you see Alt?"

"I did, everything went smoothly, but the Voodoo Boys weren't exactly friendly," Alex chuckled.

"Not friendly? Where are you now? Jack and I will come over!"

Seeing that V was ready to rush over to help, Alex hurriedly stopped her.

"No need, these people are probably busy reincarnating now, so they won't have time for you."

V was stunned for a moment, then realized: "You killed them all? By yourself?"

"That's right."

Hearing Alex confirm, V felt a little dizzy.

What kind of monster had she brought into her life?

Alone, he single-handedly took down the Voodoo Boys, who had terrorized Pacifica, something even the NetWatch couldn't do.

This was a major gang, as notorious as the Maelstrom and the 6th Street Gang.

"Alright, V, where are you now? I'll come to you," Alex said as he headed to the nearest teleportation point.

"Huh? Oh, we're at the villa in North Oak right now. Jack and I wanted to see if Dexter left anything of value."

"By the way, we're dealing with some loose ends," V said.

"Okay, wait for me; I'll be there soon."

Hanging up the phone, Alex instantly arrived in the North Oak District via the teleportation point.

Then he walked slowly toward the villa.

After about twenty minutes, the three met.

V and Jack were carrying items out of the villa.

"Alex? You got here fast. Come and help!" Jack quickly handed a pile of junk to Alex.

After dumping the stuff, Alex asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

Jack laughed: "V said you wanted to pack up and move in quickly, so she called me over to help."

"What? I want to move in quickly? Since when? Why didn't I know?"

Alex was dumbfounded.

What was happening now?

Yes, during the "division of spoils," Jack chose ten million because he didn't want to leave the Wolf Bar, and it was inconvenient to commute there for Misty.

On the other hand, V didn't choose the villa because it felt too lonely to live in such a big place alone.

In the end, the villa fell to Alex.

But he thought this period was over, and he could take advantage of staying at V's apartment to get closer to her.

After winning her over, he'd take her to live in the villa together.

But what was happening now?

Why did it seem like he was being kicked out by V?
