Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Ino's Steam Explosion Release
Chapter 114: Ino's Steam Explosion Release
Ino watched as her enemies scattered in all directions and immediately activated her new technique.
The water clone, initially identical to Ino, was then infused with water-style chakra and oil-style chakra. Through her precise control of ninjutsu, Ino managed to tightly bind the water-style and oil-style chakra together. Even with a "Nin" stat of 10, the final step was still a struggle, but she managed to pull it off.
The water clone, now filled with water-style chakra and coated with a layer of oil-style chakra, appeared chubby, its body swelling to twice its original size.
"Hmm, not bad. Art is an explosion charge!" Ino muttered to herself.
Ino quickly grabbed Shibuki, who was crouching in fear, and pulled him back. With Kurenai present, there was no need to summon a creature. She made a hand gesture, and Kurenai's genjutsu enveloped both her and Shibuki, allowing the three of them to retreat to a safe distance.
The chubby Ino clone, upon receiving the command, immediately charged toward Suien.
Suien, who was in the midst of forming a water-style ninjutsu, was momentarily confused by the appearance of the chubby clone. What is this? A water clone? he thought. The round, plump figure of the clone, coupled with its somewhat endearing face, gave it a playful and cute appearance.
Two seconds later, Suien no longer found it cute. The chubby Ino clone began to move faster and faster, as if inflating. In the blink of an eye, it grew taller and wider, steam billowing from its body.
What kind of technique is this? Suien wondered. This thing is definitely not here to look cute!
The oil-style chakra on the surface of the clone heated up rapidly due to its high-speed movement, while the water-style chakra inside began to evaporate. The clone's size continued to expand until it reached a towering height of five meters.
Realizing something was wrong, Suien quickly formed hand seals.
"Water Style: Wate"
Before he could finish, the steam inside the chubby Ino clone reached its limit. The clone rushed toward him and exploded on the spot.
A deafening BOOM echoed through the area, the shockwave causing the ground of the Hidden Waterfall Village to tremble. The explosion sent steam rushing in all directions, toppling houses and uprooting trees. Hot oil, mixed with crimson flames, mercilessly covered the entire explosion zone.
Suien and the two Rain Village ninja were instantly blown to pieces. In less than a tenth of a second, their bodies were incinerated by the hot oil, leaving no trace behind. The process of cremation and scattering their ashes was skipped entirely.
The explosion of the water clone left Ino, who was hiding in the shadows, feeling weak. She focused her mind, steadied her breathing, and formed hand seals once more.
As the explosion subsided, a large amount of steam rose into the sky, condensing upon meeting the cold air and mixing with dust particles to form hail. The hail still contained traces of Ino's chakra, and as she formed her seals, the water clone, now shrunk to a fraction of its original size, began to reform.
The process repeated: the chubby Ino clone ran, heated up, exploded, and then reformed.
After killing three Rain Village ninja in succession, Ino discovered that the water clone could fly and at a considerable speed.
To test the full extent of the technique, she deliberately held back, and within three minutes, the clone had killed the last two Rain Village ninja.
Seeing the devastating power of the explosion, Kurenai was shocked. If I were caught off guard by this technique, I'd be dead too, she thought.
"Is this the S-rank ninjutsu you obtained from the Hidden Mist Village?" Kurenai asked.
"Yeah, I just learned it. Still not very proficient," Ino replied with a grin.
The villagers, after the explosions had ceased, cautiously peeked out. They saw no sign of Suien or the Rain Village ninja only several massive craters, each five to six meters in diameter.
"Hahaha sorry about that! My bad, my bad. I might have gone a bit overboard and blown them all to bits!" Ino scratched her head, apologizing to Shibuki in a tone that was more boastful than remorseful.
This time, not only Shibuki but even the Hidden Waterfall ninja were too stunned to speak. What the hell? Is this really a genin from the Hidden Leaf? It feels like Ino could single-handedly wipe out our entire village. No wonder Kakuzu had the wisdom to throw a shuriken at the First Hokage from miles away. If this is the level of a Hidden Leaf genin, how terrifying must the First Hokage have been?!
Ino had resolved the rebellion in the Hidden Waterfall Village without Kurenai's help, using only two ninjutsu.
She knew full well that these two techniques one from the Second Hokage and the other from the Second Mizukage were among the most powerful in the ninja world. But the Hidden Waterfall ninja didn't know that. They assumed these were standard techniques in the Hidden Leaf.
Ino didn't bother to explain. Let them think what they want.
With the rebellion in the Hidden Waterfall Village successfully quelled, Ino wasn't particularly interested in Shibuki's "Hero's Water." What she cared about was the village's attitude toward her. The affairs of the Yamanaka clan and the Ino-Shika-Cho trio were beyond her control. To make a name for herself in the ninja world, going solo wasn't an option.
The Hidden Waterfall Village, hidden behind a waterfall and rarely involved in external affairs, was a perfect candidate for building a relationship. Establishing a good rapport with them could lead to more collaborations in the future.
The next day, Shibuki was officially recognized as the leader of the Hidden Waterfall Village. His late father had been good friends with Tsunade, and Shibuki wanted to maintain a positive personal relationship with Ino.
Everyone understood the value of early investments. After some consideration, Shibuki personally gifted Ino a B-rank wind-style ninjutsu scroll: Wind Style: Pressure Damage. It was said to be a powerful technique capable of causing disaster-level destruction.
Ino reciprocated by sharing some of her insights on Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet with Shibuki.
It was too early to say much, but the relationship between the two would need to be nurtured over time. Seeing that Shibuki was busy, Ino and Kurenai took the mission completion report and returned to the Hidden Leaf.
Tsunade's whereabouts were often unpredictable even she herself didn't always know where she was going. However, the Yamanaka clan's intelligence network was exceptionally strong. After a quick visit to the decryption team, Ino found Tsunade in the Land of Hot Water just three days later.
This time, Tsunade wasn't disguised as a little girl. When Ino entered, she was arm-wrestling a dark-skinned man with short, light-yellow hair and an extremely muscular build.
Holy crap! Ino was startled. That's the Fourth Raikage!
Two Cloud Village ninja, wearing their village's forehead protectors, stood guard, while Shizune, holding her pet pig Tonton, waved at Ino, signaling her to stand by her side.
Ino quietly stood next to Shizune, watching Tsunade and the Fourth Raikage arm-wrestle.
Both of them were incredibly strong, their chakra visibly radiating outward. As they continued to exert force, it became clear that Tsunade's arm was slowly overpowering the Raikage's. If this continued, she would undoubtedly win.
Suddenly, there was a loud BOOM, and when the dust settled, the Fourth Raikage had managed to pin Tsunade's arm, winning the match.
Shizune looked on in disbelief, but Tsunade calmly explained, "He suddenly relaxed his strength midway, creating a gap between our hands, then accelerated instantly to push mine back. That speed was impressive."
She turned to the Fourth Raikage and said seriously, "Though you used a little trick, you did win. I accept my loss. So, where's the patient you want me to treat?"
