The Villain Only Wants To Live a Buddhist Life

Chapter 66

Chapter 66: Dark Demon Sneaks into the Night

As night fell and the moon rose in the west, Dark paused to pet a cat before finishing the dinner brought by the Imp Beast. Only then did he begin his second round of experiments.

This time, he first attempted to conjure using the “Plant-kin – Light Attribute” basic conjuration method.

The results were not ideal.

With the experience of crafting the “Trash Slime,” he had assumed that the classification as “Plant-kin” was correct. However, it seemed this wasn’t the case.

Perhaps the “Trash Slime” could only be conjured because his nails were the true core material. Conversely, when he tried using the “Avian-Beast – Light Attribute” basic conjuration method, it proceeded exceptionally smoothly.

Yet, in the final step of filling the core material, the cat fur from the “Grass Cat Plant” was clearly insufficient!

No matter how many cat hairs he threw into the first conjuring array, the light remained dim.

This phenomenon was documented in the textbooks; it was due to the low quality of the core material!

Dark immediately realized that the “Avian-Beast – Light Attribute” should be the correct method, but absorbing just a little bit of “Pride” cat hair was insufficient to complete the magus card.

It required higher quality core material!

That is, the fruit born from the “Grass Cat Plant” and “Pride.”

“I’ve finally confirmed the use of the fruit.”

Dark was overjoyed.

There was plenty of cat hair, but only one fruit.

All previous failures were leading up to this ultimate success.

He picked up his pen and wrote in his notebook:

① Avian-Beast Kin;

② Light Attribute;

③ Fruit (Pride);

The experiment came to a temporary halt.

For now, he just needed to wait for the beginning of next month.

Dark set up a recliner on the balcony, holding the “Grass Cat Plant” and reading “The Transformation Master” as a form of entertainment.

He wasn’t particularly interested in changing cards, but this allowed him to read freely.

“The Transformation Master” introduced the simple crafting of transformation cards in its opening chapter, followed by various bizarre clothing designs.

Dark even saw a suit embroidered with ‘S’ in front and ‘B’ in back.

In short, it was quite interesting.

Time passed gradually.

Moonlight grew brighter.

When Dark almost dozed off, a purple butterfly with a glowing tail flew gracefully past his vision.

After a few seconds’ delay.

Dark suddenly snapped to attention, straightening his posture.

“Miao!”

The “Grass Cat Plant” let out a sound.

Dark widened his eyes, watching pink and purple butterflies continuously fly out of the room, their long luminous tails forming a dazzling galaxy, imbued with mystery and beauty.

“What’s going on?”

Dark reached out, picking up the “Grass Cat Plant” and placing it on the recliner, while he quickly walked into the room, taking the “Butterfly Orchid Card” from the deck on the desk.

Without any mana injection, the card activated on its own.

Butterflies continuously flew out of the card, dancing around it.

Dark looked up at the wall clock: nine forty-three.

Under normal circumstances, he should have been preparing for bed.

But today, due to excessive focus on the experiment, he had dozed off while reading.

However, it didn’t matter much.

On the contrary, after a brief nap, he felt refreshed.

He frowned but eventually put on the school coat hanging on the rack.

Checking the card and putting on the deck, he realized the root of the “Flower Card” was crucial to reducing “Bliss,” which was very important to him.

“It feels like everything will go cold if I don’t act soon.”

“From Professor Kazel’s actions, it’s clear he wants me to investigate further.”

“But he himself seems unwilling to take direct action, showing a rather conflicted state.”

“Is there something difficult to decide?”

“Should I trust him?”

Dark hurried to the door but suddenly remembered something and turned back to take out the “Night Costume Mask Set” from the drawer, placing it in the deck.

“Unconsciously, I already have nine cards.”

At nearly ten o’clock in the empty public lounge of the Noble Academy, Dark descended the stairs. The magus lamp hanging on the wall automatically lit up.

He did not linger in the public lounge but directly pushed the door open.

The construct guarding the tower coiled its body, eyes closed, showing no reaction.

Dark quickly crossed the bridge and entered the castle interior.

St. Marian’s Castle was interconnected, with constructs patrolling every evening.

However, constructs only activated warning functions before midnight and entered “guard mode” afterward, arresting students if they were found.

Thus, midnight was the curfew for the entire castle.

Dark took out the selection card and summoned the Imp Beast.

The Imp Beast sensed Dark’s intentions and showed a hint of excitement.

Dull academy life had always suppressed its nature.

It was an Imp Beast destined to stand atop the heavens!

Night was its domain.

Above the night sky was its throne!

“Come here.”

“Wu wu wu!”

Dark looked at the Imp Beast with a dark expression and helplessly said, “Do you remember the path we followed last time to track Wit? Take me there.”

The Imp Beast instantly regained composure and promptly patted its face, “Of course I remember! Who am I?”

Dark smiled, “Then hurry up.”

Night was indeed a good environment.

It felt like the long-suppressed emotions were finding a release, slowly flowing out.

He waved his hand, and the butterflies formed a colorful ribbon.

Professor Kazel said this flower card would guide him to the root, but in reality, they were flying aimlessly around the card.

Dark guessed it was due to the distance.

Fortunately, he had previously tracked Wit for some distance, allowing him to get closer.

Therefore, he followed the Imp Beast, moving quickly. First arriving at the window where he had gazed at the moon, then descending a floor, crossing the external bridge, and entering another area of the castle.

While avoiding constructs, he continued forward.

About ten minutes later, Dark finally found the large magus statue he had hidden behind last time.

Only then did the butterflies suddenly react, flying towards a specific direction.

“They’re here.”

Dark realized he was within range.

Last time, the Imp Beast had lost sight of Wit not far ahead.

Considering this was a game world based on “Harry Potter,” the castle must have secret passages.

Wit must have used a secret passage to evade the Imp Beast’s tracking.

Following closely, until the butterflies stuck to a wall and stopped flying.

He realized his destination was somewhere inside the wall.

“Is this the way?”

Dark squinted, rapidly exploring the wall.

With a touch of mana, his fingers suddenly sank into the wall!

After a moment of shock, Dark immediately commanded the Imp Beast to lead the way, drilling in.

But before the Imp Beast could move, the butterflies surged in!

Footsteps suddenly sounded behind him.

Dark’s expression changed slightly, grabbing the Imp Beast and pressing it into the wall, following himself.
