The Absolute Godspeed of Infinite Worlds

Chapter 27: [27] You've Improved, Little Junior

The curriculum at Hagun Academy was mainly divided into two categories: Academic Classes and Physical Training.

Academic classes focused on teaching the history related to Blazers and understanding the various categories of Blazer abilities, while Physical Training was used to train physical fitness and conduct combat drills.

In addition, there were many miscellaneous elective courses, too numerous to list.

Since his transmigration, this was Eiji's first time attending classes, and they were specialized Blazer courses. At first, he was quite enthusiastic, but after two days, he completely lost interest and turned into a slacker.

Take the Mana Control class, for example. This course primarily taught students how to effectively and precisely control their mana, which was one of the essential skills for Blazers. Mana control was one of the most important evaluation metrics for Blazers, aside from total mana capacity.

Sometimes, the training involved water-walking—releasing a stable mana barrier underfoot to stand on water. Other times, it involved using specially made mana clay, and in more extreme cases, even hydraulic presses.

All these methods required the user to have a certain level of mana, at least enough to release it outside the body and sustain it for a period of time, allowing for fine manipulation.

As a result, while everyone else was training enthusiastically, only Eiji and Ikki Kurogane stood to the side, doing nothing.

They were both confident in their abilities—to fail spectacularly. As super duds with F-Rank mana, they could exhaust their mana in an instant. If they were told to release mana for one second, they definitely wouldn't last two.

What was the point of practicing mana control?

Even the teacher had no solution for them and could only let them train on their own.

The two exchanged glances, feeling a sense of camaraderie in their shared predicament.

Ikki was actually quite happy because, for the first time this year, he had someone to stand around with.

"How about we see if there's a swordsmanship class?"

"That sounds great!"

After discussing it, the two decided to look for a suitable elective.

However, out of the nearly hundred teachers at Hagun Academy, not a single one taught swordsmanship. There wasn't even a single swordsmanship course offered. The only martial arts class available was judo, and that was only because the teacher had a personal interest in it.

"Should we go?"

"…Let's check it out."

Seeing the subtly complicated expression on Eiji's face, Ikki was a bit confused.

Half a day later.

"I've never seen a student as inept as you!"

The judo teacher pointed at Eiji, trembling with anger, his face so pale it looked like he might have a stroke at any moment.

Ikki also stared at Eiji in disbelief, completely at a loss.

Generally speaking, mastering one skill could lead to proficiency in others. If you could excel in swordsmanship, learning spear techniques wouldn't be too difficult, and picking up martial arts like judo or boxing shouldn't pose much of a challenge.

But Eiji was clearly an exception.

He was utterly inept at even the most basic stances, failing to get them right after half a class, let alone the subsequent offensive and defensive maneuvers.

"Actually, I didn't want to learn it anyway."

Eiji muttered under his breath.

But the look of frustration on his face was unmistakable.

It wasn't that he didn't want to learn—in fact, he was putting in a lot of effort.

He was willing to learn any martial art that could be useful, constantly enriching himself.

He thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of self-improvement and breaking through his limits. It gave him the impression that he was shedding his weakness, so no matter how hard it was, he embraced it willingly.

Yet, no matter what, he couldn't learn even the most basic judo techniques. He couldn't even get the stances right.

When he was learning swordsmanship, he had naturally grasped the stances within the first breath, and after a few glances, he could master the basic techniques. But when it came to any martial art other than swordsmanship, or any other form of combat, he became utterly incompetent, unable to learn anything no matter how long he tried.

He was actually learning very seriously. With his mirror-like insight, he could immediately analyze the teacher's stances and predict how the teacher would attack, confident that he could exploit the opponent's weaknesses in the next moment.

But the moment it was his turn to practice, it was as if he had forgotten everything he had just seen, and his hands and feet started to work against each other.

Brain: I've got it!

Hands and feet: Like hell you do!

That was the feeling.

His limbs clearly had a mind of their own, completely not listening to him, and everything fell into chaos.

Eiji was well aware of this.

There was no other explanation besides his talent system being messed up.

Because he had poured all his talent points into swordsmanship, he was completely blind when it came to any other combat methods that required talent. No matter how long he practiced, he would never be able to learn them.

This couldn't even be described as chaotic—it was a curse, a curse from his cheat ability.

Was he angry?

Of course, how could he not be?

But Eiji understood that everything had its trade-offs.

While he had lost talent in other areas, at least his swordsmanship talent was maxed out. In comparison, he was much luckier than those who were utterly mediocre in all areas.

In fact, this was actually a good thing.

Eiji kept his mindset positive, which was essential for a swordsman.

Ikki decided to stay in the judo class for a while, seemingly wanting to deepen his understanding of judo. The overwhelming power Princess Stella had displayed during their previous fight had left a deep impression on him.

Eiji left the judo classroom alone and wandered aimlessly around the school.

The course selection for Blazers was very flexible.

After all, Blazers were ultimately a combat profession. No one would force a Blazer to waste effort on courses that didn't yield results. With this in mind, aside from mandatory courses, students could leave any elective course at any time.

However, if you completed an elective course, the school would award corresponding credits—and you needed a certain number of credits to graduate.

If you became a representative for the Seven Stars Sword-Art Festival and achieved a high ranking, you could earn enough credits to graduate in one go, along with many other rewards. So, students who were confident in their abilities didn't bother sticking to elective courses.

"But this way, the courses at Hagun Academy are almost useless to me…"

Eiji scratched his black hair in frustration.

There were only two things he could train in: physical fitness and swordsmanship.

As for Blazer abilities, those needed to be developed independently. Because Blazer abilities were so diverse, the school didn't offer specific courses on how to develop them. Most students researched on their own or consulted teachers, who were more experienced.

Physical fitness was a mandatory course, while swordsmanship wasn't even offered. Eiji basically couldn't find any courses that were useful to him. Rather than attending classes, it was more reliable to train on his own.

"Should I go find that legal loli?"

For a moment, this thought flashed through Eiji's mind.

When he was preparing to come to Hagun Academy, his master had mentioned that the 'legal loli' was now teaching at the school. If she was willing to help, she could make Eiji stronger at the fastest possible rate.

But then he shook his head fiercely, like a rattle-drum, his expression fierce.

"I'd rather die, stay a virgin forever, than ask that 'legal loli' for help!"

Since his transmigration and rebirth, the person he disliked the most—or rather, hated the most—was none other than that 'legal loli!'

Asking her for help? Forget it!

"Who are you calling a 'legal loli'?"

Suddenly, Eiji was startled.

A ghost-like figure appeared abruptly behind him, uttering eerie words.

"It's been years, but you've improved, little junior."
