Pokemon Champion Chronicles

The Hypno seemed a little conflicted, but after thinking about it for a few seconds he raised his hand holding his pendulum and felt that familiar sensation of electricity in my head before hearing "I'M NOT VERY GOOD WITH THIS, I CAN'T TELL YOU, BUT I CAN SHOW YOU, CAN I?" I heard that static voice in my mind, I nodded and closed my eyes before seeing what I can interpret to be the memories of the Hypno in front of me.

The first thing I saw was two small Drowzees peacefully playing with a Hypno in an open field illuminated by the beautiful light of the sunset.

The scene in my mind could only be described as a family portrait, the Drowzees chased each other while the Hypno watched them with a smile, seemingly pleased to see his young play, the smallest of the Drowzees seemed to be faster than the eldest, but the eldest cheated and lured the youngest with his Psychic power, who far from being bothered seemed delighted to witness his brother's abilities.

The scene moved forward quickly for what could be months as the two Drowzees looked much larger, in front of them the Hypno moved his pendulum levitating a fallen tree with ease, the two Drowzees witnessing this applauded loudly and both began to practice their own skills, with circular movements of his hands the oldest of the Drowzees lifted a rock the size of his head while his younger brother barely lifted a rock a quarter of his brother's size, only to get frustrated and headbutt it breaking it into pieces causing his family to laugh.

While the trio was practicing, they suddenly heard a noise nearby. It was common for problems to arise in that area since there were usually many kinds of Pokemon and Trainers wandering around there. Hypno reacted faster than his offspring and calmly headed towards the source of the noise as if it were the most natural thing in the world, with the Drowzees following him cautiously, almost expecting something to happen.

When the trio finally arrived at the cause of all the commotion they found a young Trainer accompanied by a clearly injured Raticate taking on four Magnemite at the same time, it could be seen that it was only a matter of time before the Raticate fell and the Magnemite focused on the poor terrified Trainer .

The Hypno who witnessed all this put on a face of compassion and with a gesture of his hand sent a Psychic force that easily defeated the Magnemite , sending them flying away from the poor Trainer , who in the face of the whole situation only remained with his eyes open in shock.

The Trainer after a few seconds finally woke up and took a couple of potions from his backpack to heal his partner, when he finally left him in a stable situation he approached to thank the Hypno who saved him "Thank you very much, if I hadn't been here this could have been the end of my adventure" said the Trainer with tears in his eyes before standing still for a second with a contemplative face: "I don't understand how you did it, those Pokemon should have had an advantage against Psychic attacks but you defeated them easily" he said before taking a Great Ball out of his backpack and raising it in front of the confused Hypno before speaking: "You must be something special, that display of power is unusual in the Pokemon of this place, although it may not seem like it, I am a fourth Badge Trainer so if you come with me we can exploit your full potential and take your power to new heights" he said with hopeful eyes waiting for the Hypno to accept his proposal.

The Hypno just laughed for a second and then looked at the Raticate that was accompanying the Trainer . The boy, who somehow understood what he was trying to say, quickly raised his hands over his chest and answered: "It's not what you think!" He replied almost defensively: "This Raticate belongs to my little brother, I only went out with it because my Pokemon are resting after winning the Gym battle against LT Surge, but since I wanted to look for some berries that grow around here to speed up their recovery, I asked him to borrow it at the last minute to escort me," he said quickly, trying to sound more convincing than the level of Trainer he possessed.

The Hypno smiled kindly at the Trainer 's attempts to recruit him before shaking his head and pointing at the two Drowzees behind him, the Trainer who apparently hadn't noticed them, raised his finger as if he had come to a conclusion " Oooh I understand, those must be your children right?" he said in a calm tone "I imagine you prefer to stay close to take care of them, although it is a pity for your potential I can respect that" he said in a resigned tone before thanking his savior for the last time and retreating with his companion to the nearest city.

The two Drowzees who witnessed the scene only puffed out their chests with pride, almost as if they themselves had rescued the boy, to which the Hypno only smiled with a playful gesture before giving them both a small tap with his fingers, deflating their chests in an attempt to bring down the spirits of his young who were particularly happy that their parent preferred to stay by their side.

Time continued to move forward, the two Drowzees were already adult size but looked as jovial as in the first memory, the older Drowzee was training with his brother, throwing small rocks at him with his psychic energy that the younger Dowzee could barely dodge, it could be noticed that the older brother had the advantage regarding his powers, since although the younger of the brothers had a better physical condition, his psychic powers were mediocre at best.

While the two brothers were training, not far from them was the Hypno that was protecting them. He seemed to be meditating as he was sitting with his eyes closed, but if one paid enough attention one could see that he was attentive to his surroundings ready to react in case something happened.

When the brothers finished their training they approached the Hypno with practiced synchronicity, almost as if this was their daily routine since the Hypno , when it noticed the Drowzees approaching, put aside its meditation and quickly provided them with some berries that it had collected in advance.

The family sat down to eat as they regularly did, although Pokémon are not very talkative a calm aura could be felt in them, the two Drowzees who were eating greedily did not pay much attention to their surroundings, feeling the weight of his father's presence as a kind of indestructible barrier that would keep them safe from all evil.

The Hypno in response ate with measured calm, always attentive to what was happening but with one eye on his offspring who, although they could already be considered adults in every right, always seemed to need his watchful eye so as not to neglect their training or start a friendly fight that ended with the little brother crying and running to accuse his older brother.

Almost unnaturally and without any of them being able to notice their presence, a "PLOP" was heard behind the now frightened Hypno who, with his pendulum in hand, spun abruptly in defense of the two confused Drowzees who were surprised by the calm Hypno 's outburst .

"It seems you were right, father," said a girl with long black hair and dressed in a peculiarly red suit that fit her figure in a calm and indifferent manner. At her side was an imposing man with dark hair and eyes, with a prominent beard that gave him an intelligent appearance and dressed in an elegant tuxedo that gave him the image of an important person.

"Not everything can be solved with your powers, my daughter. If you want to inherit my position as Gym Leader, you must learn to use the resources at your disposal well," said the father in a serious tone as if he wanted his daughter to remember the advice in her mind. The daughter in response only gave a small nod without much emotion before saying, "I admit that I didn't think that putting a request in the Pokemon Centers requesting information on powerful Pokemons Psychics would be so fruitful," she said almost with a hint of apprehension, almost as if she wasn't used to being wrong.

The father just gave a small dry laugh before continuing: " Kanto is very vast, we can't have our eyes everywhere daughter, so sometimes it's better to make requests like this, there are too many Trainers out there and it's better to put them to work for our benefit, in particular the report says that this Hypno effortlessly defeated several Magnemites " he said with interest as he assessed the Hypno in front of them.

The girl just arched her eyebrow with her eyes on the Hypno before saying, "And how do you know that Trainer wasn't exaggerating his story to receive the big reward we gave?" She said almost defiantly hoping to catch her father off guard, who instead just laughed once more and said, "Don't take me for a fool, daughter, of course I read the boy's mind hoping to find some lie, but it all seemed to be true, but instead, why don't we put your new friend to the test? " he said pointing at the Hypno who was processing everything that was happening in front of him.

The girl gave a small smile that far from seeming friendly looked very hypocritical "Your Hypno , you will be captured and trained in my family's Gym, if you show the potential that that Trainer praised so much you will be rewarded by becoming part of my main team" she said almost arrogantly as if that were the highest aspiration of any Pokemon .

The Hypno , far from being annoyed, shook his head and pointed at the Drowzees behind him, hoping that the intruders would respect his wishes and let him continue living in peace with his young.

The girl just shook her head slightly in curiosity, glancing at the Drowzees before saying in an inquisitive tone: "I'm not interested in weak Pokemon , I'll only take you," she said as she pulled out three Ultra Balls from her belt and threw them forward, releasing a fully evolved Alakazam with two Kadabras acting as its escorts.

The Pokemons without waiting for instructions released their Psychic power and attacked together the Hypno in front of them with so much power that it was literally crushed by the pressure against the ground, the two Drowzees witnessing the situation wanted to help but were repelled by a Psychic attack that came from the girl who only looked at them with cold eyes before speaking: "So annoying and so weak, you should not meddle in other people's affairs, don't you know that?" she said while throwing another psychic wave that sent the two Drowzees flying a few meters back who could only watch helplessly as their guardian ended up fainted in the face of the combined attack of the intruders'

Pokemon .

After the father confirmed that the Pokemon was incapacitated, the girl raised her hand causing the three Pokemon to stop attacking and with a slowly practiced movement she levitated an Ultra Ball towards the unconscious Hypno , absorbing him without much resistance, who after only shaking twice inside the Ultra Ball could not resist any longer and gave in, letting out a loud -PING- that shocked the two Drowzees .

The now satisfied intruders didn't look twice at the Drowzees in front of them before calling back their Pokemon and leaving as mysteriously as they came, simply vanishing into thin air with a soft –PLOP- indicating that their teleportation was successful.

Leaving a poor pair of siblings frustrated and helpless as they burst into tears after realizing they had lost their father.
