No! I don't want to be a Super Necromancer!

Chapter 12: Scammer

After leaving the tent and escaping from its direct line of sight, Damien Bloodbane chuckled lightly and proceeded to make his way to the Base Bazaar, a large market in the middle of the base where anybody can set up shop to sell whatever they want.

Loot, mostly. Information, services, sometimes. And very rarely, beasts.

He had lost one of his daggers in the fight against Jeslyn Bloodbane yesterday, and poor as he was, he needed to get another dagger to complete his set up.

And if at all possible, he would like to buy a spear.

He had grown to like that destructive yet elegant weapon after using it to kill his first million Zerglings.

Damien Bloodbane walked around the bazaar casually, enjoying the hubbub of a vibrant human gathering.

His years-long super soldier training, even though it was only in his mind, was simply too brutal and too lonely.

It felt good to be among rational human beings once more.

Plus, he was immensely enjoying the powerful benefit of having a system in his body.

He was able to see the true stats of everybody and everything!

Weapons and equipment were neatly divided into three obvious grades - Low Human Grade, Middle Human Grade and High Human Grade.

Seeing people selling shiny, cool looking Low Human Grade weapons for exorbitant prices and others selling old, worn out Middle Human Grade weapons for low prices was truly an eye opening experience for him.

Right at that moment, he noticed a small crowd around a sneaky looking fatty wearing the military uniform of the nearby Shang Province.

The only thing was, in Damien Bloodbane's eyes, that fatty was definitely not a member of the Shang Province Military.

Hell, he wasn't even a human being!

"This is a true Dragon Egg, I am telling you! By the honor of the Shang Military, I swear that my platoon, no battalion fought very hard to defeat the dragon! It was a big, fat blue dragon!" The fatty shouted to one and all.

"An entire battalion of the Shang Province Military fought against an adult Blue Dragon?" One of the crowd asked dubiously. "And how many survived the battle?"

"Ah! Many of my brothers died in that tragic battle! It was tragic, but magnificent! We threw everything we had at the dragon, but even then we lost too many brothers to count. But the might of the powerful Shang Province Military prevailed, and we slew the dragon! And the general rewarded me with the single egg in that nest for great merits rendered!" The fatty explained dramatically without actually explaining much of anything.

"Great merits rendered?" The crowd stared at the chubby young man with a head full of wavy brown hair and thick limbs in disbelief.

Could such a person actually render great merits in a battle against the fearsome adult Blue Dragon?

"Yes! And because I need to buy medicine for my sick little sister, I have no choice but to sell this dragon egg for ten thousand dollars. Ten thousand dollars for your own pet blue dragon! Which hero is willing to take a single step and ascend the heavens?" The fatty shouted passionately.

"I'll buy the egg for one hundred dollars." A rich looking young man surrounded by four mean looking bodyguards finally couldn't resist the fatty's words and made a lowball offer.

"One hundred dollars? You're robbing me blind! Blind! I will sell it for no less than five thousand dollars." The fatty said while shaking his head mournfully.

But Damien Bloodbane could see a triumphant look flash very briefly in his eyes.

"Five hundred dollars. That's my best offer." The rich young man said with a tone of finality. "Take it or leave it."

"Five hundred? That is barely enough to pay for one month's worth of medicine for my sick little sister! For her sake, I must be brave and reject your generous offer. I cannot sell it for less than three thousand dollars! I need six months to gather more loo- ah goods to sell so I can continue buying medicine for my poor little sister. Good sir, will you give me six months?" The fatty said in a sad and pitiful voice.

"What a good actor!" Damien Bloodbane chuckled internally.

"Boss, let's go. This feels like a scam." One of the bodyguards around him said softly.

But the fatty was already expecting such a comment. He instantly reacted!

"Scam?! MY SISTER IS LYING SICK UNDER A COLLAPSED BRIDGE BY THE RIVER! SHE IS WAITING FOR MEDICINE SO THAT SHE CAN LIVE OUT FOR YET ANOTHER PAINFUL MONTH! AND YOU SAY I AM SCAMMING YOU?! YOU! YOU ARE TOO MUCH!!" The fatty roared indignantly with tears streaming out of his eyes!

"Fine, fine! Jason, give him three thousand dollars. Get the egg and let's go." The rich young man sighed and quickly waved for his men to execute his orders.

"This… Yes sir." The bodyguard immediately withdrew three large notes and handed it to the fatty. Wordlessly, he took the egg and quickly left the area with his boss.

He wanted nothing else to do with that sneaky looking scammer!

"Thank you! Thank you so much! My sister and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!" The fatty cried out gratefully even as the three bank notes disappeared into the many folds of his uniform.

"That fatty struck it rich. What a lucky bastard."

"Haha. Let's go look for a big bird egg and sell it as dragon egg as well."

The crowd quickly dispersed after the transaction, leaving only Damien Bloodbane alone standing there.

"Haha. This brother, if you want the dragon egg, you should make your bid faster like that young man earlier. Now it is gone, and I must go buy medicine for my sister. Goodbye!" The fatty smiled widely at Damien Bloodbane and quickly walked away.

"I wonder what your mother would say if I told her you sold your sister for three thousand dollars?" Damien Bloodbane said in a soft voice, so soft that nobody beyond a couple of meters away from him could even hear anything.

But the fatty who was already ten meters away immediately froze mid step.

A wave of intense killing intent radiated from the fatty at that moment and slammed into Damien Bloodbane. If it was anybody else, that person would have collapsed in fear.

However for Damien Bloodbane who had faced the much stronger Royal Lightning Dragons before, the fatty's killing intent was comfortable like a mid summer's breeze.
