Chapter 30: Town Attack

---

Tony flipped through the photos in his hand and saw that the weapons shown were all from Stark Industries. After asking a few questions, he learned that these photos had been taken just yesterday.

"I didn't approve any deals," Tony said.

"But this is your company's doing."

"My company is not me."

At this point, Yinsen couldn't hold back anymore and asked, "Tony, what happened to my hometown?"

Yinsen took the photos from Tony and looked at them.

Then Yinsen said to Tony, his voice trembling:

"Tony, I know this wasn't done by you, but I hope you can help my hometown and those people."

Tony looked at Yinsen and grew more and more furious. "Okay, Yinsen, don't worry. I'll take care of this."

After comforting Yinsen, Tony went out to find Obadiah.

Kai walked over to Yinsen, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "Yinsen, don't worry. I believe Tony can handle the company's affairs. We'll deal with the terrorists."

While Tony went to confront Obadiah, Kai prepared to leave with Yinsen.

Without needing to listen in, Kai knew that Obadiah would admit to filing an injunction with the board, preventing Tony from running Stark Industries.

Just as Kai was about to leave, Pepper, who had been waiting on the balcony, came over.

"Hey, Kai, Yinsen, hello. Have you seen Tony?"

"Oh, Pepper. Tony stepped out to talk to Obadiah about something, so..."

Kai shrugged, indicating Tony had things to handle and had probably left for the night.

"Alright, have fun then." After saying that, Pepper returned to socializing.

Seeing this, Kai thought to himself: *Tony, you owe me another favor. I just saved you from a small emotional crisis at this dance.*

Meanwhile, Tony, having learned the truth from Obadiah, drove back to the villa alone.

When Kai and Yinsen returned, Tony had already started putting on the Iron Man suit.

Seeing Tony's actions, Kai knew Tony was heading to Yinsen's hometown, Gulmira, to rescue those people and destroy the Stark Industries weapons being used there.

"Yinsen, I'm really sorry. I didn't know my company would do something like this. But don't worry, I'll make it right," Tony said, his eyes bloodshot.

"It's okay, Tony. I know, and I don't blame you. I just hope you can save them... and stay safe yourself."

Seeing Tony suit up, Yinsen knew Tony's decision was already made, so he didn't try to stop him.

Wearing the Iron Man suit, Tony flew directly to Gulmira under Jarvis's guidance.

After Tony left, Kai asked Yinsen, "Yinsen, do you want to go along and see how Tony handles this?"

Yinsen looked surprised. "Oh, Kai... you mean, I can go too?"

"Of course. How about coming with me to check it out?"

Yinsen hesitated for a moment, but the urge to see his hometown pushed him to agree.

Then Kai took Yinsen directly to Gulmira. Since they had set out later, they arrived just as Tony was facing several terrorists who were holding hostages.

Kai brought Yinsen through a portal right beside the scene, unintentionally drawing the terrorists' attention.

Tony seized the distraction, locked onto the terrorists' heads one by one, and fired shoulder-mounted micro-missiles. The terrorists fell simultaneously, and the hostages were freed.

But after seeing his devastated hometown, Yinsen grew somber and silent.

Kai, noticing Yinsen's sadness, tried to lift the mood.

"Look," Kai said, "Tony still needs me to create a distraction so he can handle things properly. So those takedowns? They're all thanks to me."

Tony immediately protested. "Hey, Kai, you can't say that! Even if you hadn't shown up, I had everything under control. I already had them locked on!"

But Kai ignored Tony because Yinsen didn't react to their banter; he was too consumed by grief.

Kai walked over and patted Yinsen's shoulder.

"Yinsen, we came here to save these people and to make up for Stark Industries' mistake. If you're still feeling unsettled, how about we go back, find out who's really behind this, and get some payback?"

Hearing Kai's words, Yinsen's eyes slowly regained focus.

"Is that possible?"

Kai and Tony exchanged a look and both nodded.

"Of course you can," Kai said. "Tony and I will support you."

"Yes, I support you," Tony added. "But first, let's finish up here."

Tony went on to track down and eliminate the remaining terrorists. Meanwhile, Kai stayed with Yinsen to keep him safe.

After clearing out the terrorists, Tony targeted the nearby tanks, weapons, and ammunition, blowing them all up.

Landing in front of Kai and Yinsen, Tony opened his mask.

"I've cleaned up everything here, and I cleared the surrounding area too," Tony said.

They watched as Yinsen approached the injured townspeople, kneeling down to start bandaging them.

"Yinsen, wait," Kai said. "Let me handle this."

Kai pulled out his wand.

"Heal, and restore to normal," Kai chanted.

He cast two spells, and Yinsen watched in amazement as the wounds rapidly closed until they looked as if they'd never existed.

After helping treat the injured, the three prepared to head back.

"Tony, are you going back with us, or heading home on your own?" Kai asked, opening a portal.

Tony lowered his mask. "I'll go back myself, of course."

As soon as he finished speaking, Tony launched into the sky.

Watching him leave, Kai shook his head, knowing that Tony would be spotted by the United States Air Force on his way back and accidentally take down one of their planes.

But since Tony had chosen to fly home alone, Kai didn't interfere. After all, it would just be a false alarm, and Rhodes would cover for him — so Kai let it be.

Kai and Yinsen returned to Tony's villa, where they ate the burgers and pizza Jarvis had ordered while they waited for Tony to come home.
