Chapter 29: Charity Dinner
---
Kai clinked glasses with Yinsen, and after taking a few sips, he looked at Yinsen, who wanted to ask something but hesitated for a long time and didn't know how to ask. Kai said:
"Okay, Yinsen, stop worrying about it. Just ask whatever you want to ask!"
Yinsen slowly put down the wine glass in his hand.
"Kai, your wand, that's what it's called, right?"
After seeing Kai nod in confirmation, Yinsen continued to ask:
"What is the principle behind the magic wand? What is its energy source? Why can it produce different kinds of magic?"
Kai knew that Yinsen would ask questions about wands and magic, but he was still surprised by Yinsen's three direct questions.
Putting down his wine glass, Kai seriously considered Yinsen's question. The source of magic power in the wand and the release of magic in the Marvel world should rely on the materials and production process of the wand itself, so magical materials should not exist in this world.
Kai explained it to Yinsen very carefully. According to Kai's understanding, there might only be one magic wand, and there wouldn't be a second one.
Hearing Kai say this, Yinsen looked visibly disappointed.
After all, discovering a new field only to have no way to study it is frustrating.
Kai noticed Yinsen's expression and continued:
"However, although I don't have a second magic wand, there are still magicians in this world."
"What? Are you serious?"
"Of course, but I don't know if I can find them now. If you encounter magicians in the future, I'll help you get in touch with them, but you have to promise me that before I find them and say hello, you can't tell anyone else about their existence — not even Tony."
When Yinsen saw Kai's sudden serious expression, he realized the importance of the matter and quickly said:
"I won't tell anyone, don't worry."
Well, after seeing Yinsen's assurance, Kai continued:
"When you meet a wizard, I can lend you my wand to study and see if you can learn something from them to make a new wand."
Yinsen was intrigued by what Kai said and began to look forward to that moment.
While the two were talking, Tony came up from the basement.
"Hey, Yinsen, Kai, come down and help me. There's only a little more to improve the suit."
Seeing the two chatting, Tony couldn't help but call them down. Tony didn't want them to drink while he was busy.
Kai watched as Tony came to the bar, poured a glass of wine, drank it in one gulp, and then returned to the basement.
So Kai and Yinsen followed Tony back to the basement and began to help Tony make the final improvements.
It wasn't until the evening that the improvements to the suit were officially completed. At this time, Kai saw the silver battle suit and said:
"Hey, Tony, don't you think the silver suit doesn't look that great? What do you think of that color?"
Hearing Kai's question, Tony suddenly felt that the silver suit wasn't quite right, so he followed Kai's gaze.
Tony saw his red and gold sports car, and his eyes lit up.
"Wow, Kai, I didn't expect your taste to be the same as mine. This color is exactly what I like. Jarvis, spray paint my suit accordingly."
Tony asked Jarvis to spray paint it, and in just a few minutes, the brand-new Iron Man suit was ready.
A few people walked closer to take a look and found that the new paint matched the Iron Man suit perfectly, which made Tony very satisfied.
Just then, Tony saw on TV that there was a charity ball being held in his name for the Firefighters Family Foundation at the Disney Concert Hall.
After Tony asked Jarvis, he realized he hadn't received an invitation. So Tony asked Kai and Yinsen:
"There's a dance tonight. Do you guys want to go with me?"
Yinsen was still hesitant, but Kai agreed directly and persuaded Yinsen:
"Yinsen, you can't just stay at home all the time. It's good to go out for a walk."
After hearing what Kai said, Yinsen decided to join them.
Tony drove his Audi R8, and Kai picked out a less conspicuous car from Tony's garage and took Yinsen to the dance.
Although it was the most low-key car among Tony's collection, when Kai drove it to the party, many beautiful women still turned their heads to look.
When they saw Kai step out from the driver's seat, some were drawn to his tall figure and striking features. A few were already planning to find an opportunity to talk to him.
When Kai and the others arrived, Tony was already dancing with Pepper, so Kai took Yinsen directly to the bartender, ordered two glasses of wine, and started drinking.
At this time, Kai saw Coulson not far away. SHIELD was still trying to gather specific information about Tony's escape, but since they couldn't stop Tony and ask directly, they probably didn't yet know that it was Kai who had rescued Tony.
However, Kai followed the mindset that as long as no one provoked him, they could live in peace. So he didn't pay attention to Coulson and waited quietly while drinking.
Because Kai knew what would happen next — when Tony returned from the balcony, a woman would find Tony and show him several photos, setting things in motion.
Sure enough, when Tony returned from the balcony and headed to the bar, Kai saw a short-haired woman approach him, introduce herself, and take out a stack of photos.
She pointed out, "At the beginning, I really believed everything you said. Is this what you call responsibility? The place in the photo is called Gulmira. Have you heard of it?"
When he heard Gulmira's name, Yinsen's mood visibly changed. He was no longer anxious to leave; instead, he leaned in, ready to listen to what the woman had to say.
Kai noticed the change in Yinsen because he knew that the small town the woman was talking about was Yinsen's hometown.
