JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Horizons

Chapter 14: Chapter 11: The Silent Blade

The Search for Mei Takeda!

---

Prologue: The Phantom's Shadow

A dark alley. A silent night.

In the depths of the abandoned district, a lone figure moved without a sound.

Mei Takeda.

Her movements were precise, each step calculated to avoid detection.

She had spent years perfecting the art of disappearing.

Even the Phantom Syndicate struggled to track her when she didn't want to be found.

And yet—

Tonight, someone was searching for her.

---

Phase One: The Hunt Begins

"Are you sure she's here?" Kenji muttered, scanning the empty streets.

Renji shuffled his tarot deck. "I'd bet on it."

Akira adjusted his glasses. "Mei's been in hiding since the Syndicate's last mission. If she's gone rogue, we need to find her before they do."

Shoji leaned against the wall, arms crossed. "And if she's still with them?"

Daisuke smirked. "Then we convince her she's making the wrong choice."

The team moved deeper into the ruins, following Renji's intuition and Shoji's memory-tracing Stand ability, Eclipse Waltz.

Then—

The wind shifted.

Daisuke froze. "Did you hear that?"

The alley fell into an eerie silence.

Kenji tensed. "Something's—"

A blade sliced through the air.

A flash of steel—

And in an instant, a thin red line appeared on Kenji's cheek.

A warning cut.

No sound. No hesitation.

Only precision.

Mei was already here.

---

Phase Two: The Assassin's Warning

The team whirled around, searching for the attacker—

But the street was empty.

Shoji narrowed his eyes. "No… she's still here."

Daisuke's breath slowed. "She's testing us."

Then—

A single voice cut through the night.

Low. Calm.

"You shouldn't have come."

Mei Takeda stepped into view.

Dressed in black. Eyes cold. Her katana resting lightly against her shoulder.

Her stance was effortless. Composed.

She didn't move like someone preparing for battle—

She moved like someone who had already won.

Akira adjusted his glasses. "Mei."

She didn't respond.

Daisuke grinned. "You're a hard woman to find."

Mei finally spoke. "…I don't want to be found."

Kenji crossed his arms. "Too bad. We need you."

Silence.

Mei's gaze flickered between them, calculating.

Then—

Her grip on her sword tightened.

"I don't fight without a reason."

Her Stand manifested behind her.

Razor Symphony.

A silent, spectral presence, vibrating with unseen blades of air.

"Leave," she said.

Akira stepped forward. "We can't."

Mei exhaled slowly.

Then—

She attacked.

---

Phase Three: A Dance of Steel

Kenji blocked first.

His arm turned to stone as Titan Soul hardened his skin—

SLASH.

A thin cut still appeared.

His defense had been cut through.

Mei moved again—

Faster than a breath—

Her blade vanished.

Daisuke dodged just in time.

But his coat split apart in clean, razor-thin lines.

Her Stand wasn't just fast.

It ignored unnecessary movement.

Every attack was perfectly aimed.

Shoji activated Eclipse Waltz—

Chains of memory distortion lashed out.

Mei didn't hesitate.

Her Stand sliced through the illusion itself.

Shoji's eyes widened. "She cut through Eclipse Waltz?!"

Mei's blade halted just before touching his throat.

She met his gaze—then lowered her sword.

"…You're holding back."

Shoji clenched his jaw. "We're not here to fight you."

Akira nodded. "We need you, Mei."

Silence.

Mei slowly sheathed her katana.

"I don't take sides."

Akira took a breath. "Then don't take theirs."

She didn't respond immediately.

Then—

"…Why are you really here?"

Akira hesitated. Then, finally—

"Minh and Cetz have someone you're trying to save, don't they?"

A flicker of emotion crossed her face.

"…How do you know that?"

Renji smirked, tapping his deck. "Call it a gambler's intuition."

Mei's grip on her sword relaxed.

She closed her eyes for a moment.

Then she spoke, softly.

"…I won't betray them. Not yet."

Akira nodded. "Then at least let us help."

Another long pause.

Then—

Mei turned away.

"You'll regret this."

And without another word—

She walked into the darkness.

Epilogue: The Blade's Path

The team stood in silence, watching her go.

Kenji exhaled. "That could've gone worse."

Shoji smirked. "She didn't kill us. That's progress."

Daisuke crossed his arms. "She didn't say no."

Akira adjusted his glasses.

"No."

He looked into the shadows where Mei had vanished.

"She'll come back."

Because in the end—

Even the sharpest blade can't cut away the past.

And whatever Minh and Cetz had…

It was something she wasn't willing to lose.
