Chapter 228: Panicked Riveria
Chapter 228 - Panicked Riveria
On the square of Babel
At the same location as yesterday, a huge magic circle appeared.
However, unlike yesterday, Mahiro was not the only one who appeared in the magic circle this time.
Standing with him were four members of the Loki Familia.
Fortunately, during this time, most adventurers were exploring the dungeon, and only a few sparse figures passed by the square.
Therefore, Mahiro and the others did not cause much of a sensation this time.
However, the few adventurers who passed by were still drawn to the scene and slightly shocked.
Whether it was the emerging Mahiro or the presence of Ais, Riveria, and Hiryute Sisters, the group was undeniably eye-catching.
"This is Babel..."
Compared to the shocked passers-by, the four members of the Loki Familia were even more surprised.
Tiona first glanced around in a daze.
After a moment, she realized that the surroundings were all too familiar.
Wasn't this the Babel, the place they always passed through when entering the dungeon?
"We really came back to the surface. This is too incredible!"
Tiona couldn't help but exclaim, her eyes filled with awe.
Although Ais and Riveria did not speak, their expressions revealed their astonishment at this near-miraculous event.
When exploring the dungeon, whether venturing deeper or returning to the surface, they had to traverse each floor one by one—without exception.
Or rather, every adventurer in Orario had to do the same.
Yet today, they had experienced something entirely different.
"Is this magic? It must be magic, right? And it's super rare magic!"
Tiona turned to Mahiro, her excitement palpable.
"Well, it's teleportation magic. But I wouldn't call it super rare," Mahiro replied casually.
Of course, this was just commonplace in High School DxD.
Not super rare?
Hearing this, even Riveria couldn't help but twitch her brow.
If magic that ignored the dungeon's distances wasn't considered super rare, what kind of magic was?
Moreover, this magic not only bypassed the dungeon's constraints but was also cast without an incantation.
They had all seen Mahiro activate the teleportation magic with their own eyes.
There was no chant, no preparation—just an instantaneous activation.
This was beyond rare; it was revolutionary!
"Alright, I'll take the magic stone to the exchange first. Let's part ways here," Mahiro said.
With that, he hoisted the magic stone with one hand and quickly walked toward Babel.
Tiona and Ais seemed reluctant to see him go but didn't say much.
Riveria and Tione watched Mahiro's retreating figure with complex expressions.
"Riveria, do you know what type of magic this teleportation magic is? You elves are well-informed. Are there any records of such magic?" Tione asked.
"No," Riveria shook her head. "This kind of spatial movement—at least in my memory—has no precedent."
"Moreover, compared to ordinary magic, this teleportation magic can only be described as a miracle."
"A miracle?" Tione couldn't help but take a deep breath.
Even Ais and Tiona looked at Riveria with wide eyes.
"Yes, a miracle," Riveria affirmed. "A power that only the gods should possess."
"Isn't that... too much?" Tione murmured, her voice filled with wonder.
In her heart, she had already held Mahiro in high regard.
But now, it seemed she had still underestimated him.
A power reserved for the gods—didn't that mean...
"However, it's certain that Mahiro is not a god," Riveria clarified. "Gods cannot use their Arcanum in the mortal world."
"It's just that his potential is truly terrifying. At Level 1, he has such magic."
"It's almost as if he's not human—or even of any race on the surface."
If not for the restrictions placed on the gods in the lower world, one might even mistake Mahiro for a god in disguise.
"And don't forget the elemental magic he used to defeat the Goliath," Riveria added, holding up two fingers.
"Conservatively speaking, he has mastered at least two types of magic, both of which are chantless."
"Indeed, I didn't hear him chant anything when he froze the Goliath," Tiona remarked.
Earlier, on the 17th floor, their focus had been on Mahiro's raw power in defeating the Goliath.
But now, after giving it a thought, his abilities seemed even more terrifying than they had realized.
"As expected of my Mahiro!" Tiona exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she gazed in the direction Mahiro had gone.
"I must have a child with him," she declared boldly.
Then, turning to Ais, she added, "You should join me, Ais."
"Me too?" Ais blinked, confused.
"Yes, yes!" Tiona nodded enthusiastically. "Our children would undoubtedly be incredibly strong."
"I... don't know," Ais replied blankly.
At the moment, her thoughts were solely focused on becoming stronger and challenging the one-eyed dragon boss.
The idea of having children hadn't even crossed her mind.
"Who would have thought that Loki, of all people, would accidentally form a connection between Ais and someone like him?" Riveria mused.
"In the future, we shouldn't interfere too much in the relationship between Ais and Mahiro. As for Loki, let's hope she remains calm about this."
"Riveria, you're not seriously considering marrying him in the future, are you?" Tione teased, giving her a sly look.
"What? Why would you say that?" Riveria's composure cracked slightly.
"Don't you think Mahiro might one day possess the strength to surpass even the entire elven race?" Tione pressed.
"At Level 1, he's already this powerful. What happens when he reaches Level 5?"
"And let's not forget, someone like him won't stop at Level 5. He's destined to go even further."
"Not to mention, he has at least two chantless magic, one of which is a miracle like the teleportation magic."
Hearing this, Riveria felt a flicker of unease.
Previously, she hadn't been optimistic about the idea of Mahiro and her.
But the teleportation magic had completely shifted her perspective.
In fact, her thoughts about Mahiro had risen by several levels.
