Chapter 14: Rokuhara Ren is a Scumbag
Tanuma Shouzou was a world-renowned heart surgeon and the personal physician of the Shinomiya family. His expertise was so exceptional that only high-ranking officials, wealthy businessmen, and influential individuals could receive his care.
However, Rokuhara Ren was an exception.
Ren didn't come from a wealthy family or hold a high social status. But thanks to his skill in building connections and selling rare artworks to Shouzou, he managed to gain exclusive access to the esteemed doctor.
Inside the examination room, Shouzou sat behind his desk, accompanied by his trusted nurse who was always blunt with him.
In front of him, Nakano Itsuki sat with her growing belly, while beside her, Ren appeared relaxed yet attentive.
Shouzou carefully reviewed the ultrasound results before nodding.
"There are no abnormalities. The baby in Nakano-san's womb is very healthy. The yoga you've been doing has had a positive impact on your body."
Hearing this, Itsuki let out a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, Ren smiled faintly and asked, "So, everything's fine, right, Tanuma-sensei?"
Shouzou raised an eyebrow, then shifted his gaze to Ren.
"Medically, yes. But you should be ready at any time starting next month. Nakano-san could go into labor at any moment."
"I've prepared everything." Ren nodded lightly.
"..."
Shouzou looked at Ren with a complicated expression. The young man in front of him reminded him of his grandson, Tanuma Tsubasa, who was now studying at Shuchi'in Academy and already had a girlfriend.
Unconsciously, his thoughts spilled out into words that were clearly heard by everyone in the room.
"The Tanuma family has a history of men who fall in love too easily. I myself married young. This pattern repeated with my son. I just hope Tsubasa doesn't make the same mistake."
Shouzou wasn't optimistic. Chances were, he'd soon have a great-grandchild. After all, the promiscuity of today's youth was outrageous. Ren was the perfect example—he got his homeroom teacher pregnant while still a second-year high school student.
Recalling his own past and his son's, who had played around with many girls without a care in the world, Shouzou could only support whatever Tsubasa did.
"..."
Itsuki remained silent, unsure how to react, while Ren looked at Shouzou with an intrigued expression, as if seeing a kindred spirit.
The nurse standing beside Shouzou, a short-haired woman with a flat expression, looked at the senior doctor without a hint of hesitation before commenting in a cold tone.
"So, you're worried your grandson will repeat the same pattern, even though you were the one who started it? How interesting, Tanuma-sensei. Like an old fox suddenly wanting to preach about morals."
"..."
The room fell silent. Itsuki covered her mouth, holding back a small laugh. Ren simply enjoyed the rare moment.
"If you want to blame someone, blame my past self. I was the one who made the choices, and I'm the one who has to bear the consequences now."
Shouzou wasn't angered by the jab. He was used to his nurse's sharp tongue and unfiltered remarks.
"Hmph."
The nurse let out a soft snort, seemingly agreeing. However, she didn't continue the argument and went back to jotting something down on her clipboard.
Itsuki, who had finished her examination, chose not to get involved in the small drama unfolding before her. She glanced at Ren, giving him a subtle signal that they should leave.
Ren caught the signal quickly. He stood up, straightening his collar slightly before speaking, "Thank you for your time, Sensei. We'll take our leave now."
Shouzou lazily waved his hand. "Hm, take care of your health. If anything feels off, come back immediately."
"Thank you so much, Tanuma-sensei." Itsuki bowed slightly politely.
Before they left, the nurse glanced at Ren and gave him some advice in a flat tone.
"Listen, Rokuhara-kun. Nakano-san has sacrificed a lot to be by your side, even though she knew the risks well. Don't do anything that will make her regret it or break her heart."
Ren wasn't offended and confidently replied, "I don't need to be told. I know that very well. I'll make sure she's happy."
"..."
Miyahara didn't respond, returning to her work. With that, Ren and Itsuki left the examination room.

After leaving Satoshi Hospital, the two didn't head straight back to the apartment. Inside the taxi, Itsuki leaned back slightly in her seat.
"I want to go to Miku and Nino's café. I'm bored at home and want a change of scenery for a bit."
"Sure, no problem. I also have some other business to take care of."
Ren agreed to Itsuki's request, reminding her to let Yotsuba know not to come to the apartment.
The journey took about thirty minutes, passing through the bustling heart of Tokyo. Once the taxi stopped in front of a café with a modern yet cozy design, Ren quickly got out and opened the door to help Itsuki exit.
As they stepped onto the sidewalk, the café door opened, and Miku came out to greet them.
"You're here, Itsuki?"
"I just want to relax for a bit. You don't mind, do you, Miku?"
"Of course not."
Holding Itsuki's hand, Miku helped her inside the café.
After making sure Itsuki entered safely, Ren returned to the taxi and got back in. He closed the door and gave the driver his next destination.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
Shouzou looked at the two patients in front of him, the corner of his eye twitching slightly.
The person who had arrived was none other than Ren, who had left not long ago. However, the partner beside him wasn't Nakano Itsuki, but a beautiful Japanese-Russian mixed girl who exuded the gentle aura typically associated with virtuous wives.
The woman Ren brought was none other than Maria Mikhailovna Kujou, or more commonly known as Masha!
Although surprised, Shouzou remained professional. He opened the ultrasound examination report and began reading it.
"Maria-san, the fetus in your womb is healthy. However, since the pregnancy is still in its early stages, you need to be more careful. Avoid stress and strenuous activities."
"Thank you, Tanuma-sensei. I'll be more careful with my activities." Masha nodded softly.
*JIIII!*
Meanwhile, the nurse stared at Ren with an icy glare, as if looking at kitchen waste that couldn't be recycled.
Just an hour ago, this man confidently claimed he would make Itsuki happy. Not even a day had passed, and he was back with another woman who was also pregnant.
What a scumbag!
Every hospital strictly protects patient privacy. Therefore, neither Shouzou nor the nurse revealed the fact that Masha was the second woman Ren had brought to the hospital for a pregnancy check-up today.
Guessing that he was being silently judged, Ren snorted and defended himself.
"Hey, don't look at me like that. Japan has legalized polygamy now, right? So, this isn't cheating. Itsuki and Masha are aware of each other."
Shouzou and the nurse were skeptical and didn't believe it so easily.
They knew that Japan's laws now allowed polygamy, but in reality, very few men actually had more than one wife. The majority of men still chose monogamy because their wives refused to share their husbands with other women.
Without a hint of jealousy, Masha smiled softly and confirmed Ren's claim.
"It's true. Itsuki-sensei and I have a harmonious relationship. We discussed everything before making this decision."
Shouzou and the nurse exchanged glances. Only after direct confirmation from the involved parties did they finally believe that this situation wasn't a case of an irresponsible man playing around with multiple women.
"Times have indeed changed… Rokuhara-kun, you're truly a winner in life." Shouzou suddenly gave a thumbs-up.
"Thank you for the compliment, Tanuma-sensei." Ren smiled without a hint of guilt in his heart.
'I have to thank Masha for being weak to hypnosis. If I had pursued her using conventional methods, I'm afraid she would have rejected me. In the original work, Masha never gave up on Masachika even though Alya was close to the man she liked.'
Ren had repeatedly implanted suggestions into Masha until it reached the point of altering her cognitive consciousness.
It must be said that the sisters—Masha and Alya—could even be hypnotized by a beginner practicing from a hypnosis book.
