Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Raid Boss Battle

A Nightmare Unleashed

The battlefield was in chaos.

The once-lively town outskirts were now a war zone.

Flames devoured buildings, turning homes into smoldering ruins.

The ground trembled as adventurers fell, crushed beneath the monster's sheer power.

The air was thick with the stench of blood and smoke.

And at the center of it all—

A creature that should not exist.

The Dungeon Boss.

A Tyrant Warlord.

Twelve feet tall, its obsidian-black armor gleamed under the moonlight.

Blood-red eyes glowed with intelligence far beyond a normal monster.

A greatsword, nearly as long as a carriage, pulsed with dark energy.

Jagged horns and deep scars covered its battle-worn body.

This thing had survived countless battles inside the dungeon.

And now—

It was free.

Ainz felt a chill crawl down his spine.

"This isn't normal. Dungeon bosses are never this powerful… unless something is influencing them."

The Guildmaster, standing beside him, gritted his teeth.

"We can't let this thing reach the town… or we're finished."

Ainz nodded silently.

But deep inside, he knew.

The adventurers here weren't strong enough.

If this fight continued, they would all die.

"Guess I have no choice but to handle this myself."

Ainz's Strategy – Fighting in Secret

Ainz couldn't reveal his true power.

Not yet.

If people discovered his abilities, questions would follow.

Instead—

"I'll use just enough power to win, while making it look like I'm struggling."

He took a step forward.

The Guildmaster placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Kid… you sure you're ready for this?"

Ainz smiled.

"Don't worry. I have a plan."

The Guildmaster hesitated, then gave a firm nod.

"Alright. We'll cover you."

Battle start.

Phase One – Testing the Monster

Ainz dashed forward, his speed a blur to the naked eye.

The Tyrant Warlord raised its sword, swinging down with enough force to split a building in half.

Ainz's footwork was flawless.

He sidestepped at the last moment, feeling the wind pressure nearly tear his cloak apart.

BOOOOM!

The ground exploded beneath the impact, forming a twenty-foot crater.

"Damn… even dodging is dangerous."

Ainz retaliated.

He raised his hand.

Ice surged forward, forming deadly spears.

He sent them flying toward the boss's joints and eyes.

SHOOOOM!

The ice spears struck—

CLANG!

But they merely shattered on impact.

Ainz's eyes widened slightly.

"Tch. Its armor is reinforced with dungeon energy."

If he wanted to hurt it, he needed to go harder.

Phase Two – Fighting in the Open

The adventurers behind Ainz launched their attacks.

Archers rained arrows at the boss's weak spots.

Mages fired explosive fireballs, causing waves of shockwaves.

Swordsmen charged, slashing at its legs.

But—

It was useless.

The boss barely flinched.

Then—

It vanished.

Ainz's instincts screamed.

"It's fast!"

WHOOSH!

The boss reappeared behind the adventurers.

SLASH!

A single swing of its sword—and five adventurers were cut in half.

Blood splattered across the battlefield.

Screams of agony filled the air.

Ainz's fists clenched.

"Enough of this."

Phase Three – Ainz Goes All In (But Still Holds Back)

Ainz took a deep breath.

He stepped forward—and the air shifted.

The flames snuffed out instantly.

The wind became razor-sharp, cutting through debris.

The ground hardened, preventing anyone from retreating.

The Guildmaster turned in shock.

"Kid… what are you—"

Then he saw it.

Ainz's presence changed.

It was subtle.

But the experienced warriors felt it.

Like a beast waking up.

Like a storm about to be unleashed.

Ainz raised his hand.

"Elemental Art: Gravity Field."

BOOOOM!

A massive force crashed onto the battlefield.

The Tyrant Warlord froze as if an invisible mountain pressed down on it.

The ground cracked under the pressure.

The surrounding adventurers stumbled, struggling to stay standing.

Ainz rushed forward.

With one step, he disappeared.

WHOOSH!

The boss barely saw him move.

Then—

BOOOOM!

Ainz's fist collided with the boss's chest, sending it flying backward—smashing into a building.

Debris rained down as the shockwave blasted outward.

The adventurers stared, frozen in disbelief.

"D-Did he just punch it into a house?!"

"Who the hell is this guy?!"

But it wasn't over.

Final Phase – The Last Attack

The Tyrant Warlord rose from the rubble.

It wasn't dead.

But it was wounded.

And it was furious.

It raised its greatsword—dark energy swirling around it.

Ainz sighed.

"I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this."

He extended both hands.

"Elemental Fusion: Divine Cataclysm."

The sky split apart.

A massive pillar of light descended from the heavens, slamming into the boss.

The monster screamed as its body disintegrated in a blinding flash.

BOOOOOOM!

When the light faded—

Only silence remained.

The battle was over.

Aftermath – Suspicion Rises

The adventurers slowly approached Ainz.

The Guildmaster studied him carefully.

"That wasn't… normal magic."

Ainz wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Just… some tricks I picked up."

The Guildmaster narrowed his eyes.

Ainz could feel it.

People were starting to notice him.

He had to be more careful.

Or else—

His secrets wouldn't stay hidden for long.
