Chapter 48
Chapter 48: The Marvelous Journey of the Sage Heart Demon Lord
“Where do you think you can run to?”
The sinister voice was filled with mockery, following closely behind.
“Who are you? How dare you hunt the Sage Heart Lord? Do you not fear the taboo and the punishment of a thousand swords piercing your heart!”
While fleeing, Liu Yan scolded.
From the opponent’s momentum, it was clear that he was a figure of the Demon Lord level. She knew she was no match for him, and the Sage Heart Demon Lord had just been reincarnated, still in a juvenile body, making it even less possible to fight back.
“Ke ke ke… The Master Sage Heart has betrayed her position and has already been expelled from the ranks of demons. Several demon lords have simultaneously issued a bounty for her. Do you think I would let such a great achievement slip away?”
The opponent laughed ominously, his voice growing closer, demonic energy rolling in, even coloring the space black and filling it with a sense of oppression.
“Let’s just let you both become aware ghosts. When you reach the underworld, remember to tell the King of Hell that it was the Glutton Demon Lord who sent you on your final journey.”
“The subordinate of the Glutton Demon Lord!”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord gritted her teeth, filled with hatred. The Glutton Demon Lord had always been at odds with her, and in the sins of trying to kill her, he bore a part of the blame.
Now that she had fallen into hard times, he certainly wouldn’t miss the chance to kick her while she was down.
“We can’t escape. Put me down, you go!”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord quickly made a judgment, unwilling to watch her loyal subordinate suffer alongside her.
Upon hearing this, Liu Yan was deeply moved, wishing she could give her life for the lord.
“Rest assured, my lord! I have found a powerful backer who can keep us safe.”
While speaking, she increased her speed; Red Dust Mountain was right before them.
“A powerful backer?”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord’s eyes lit up. “Could it be that you have allied with another demon lord… Is there someone willing to take us in?”
“No, that master isn’t a Heavenly Demon, but a human!”
Upon hearing this, the hope in Sheng Xin’s eyes instantly dimmed.
“Humans are weak; even self-preservation is difficult for them. It’s better if we don’t drag him down. Let’s go somewhere else!”
“You can’t go anywhere; just die obediently!”
At that moment, a pitch-black humanoid creature caught up, baring sharp fangs, looming terrifyingly, as it pressed down with one palm towards the two.
Both of them changed color simultaneously; the opponent clearly intended to kill them with a single blow.
“I never expected to die at the hands of such a lackey.”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord was filled with unwillingness. Just then, a token on Liu Yan’s body actually glowed, followed by a wave of spatial fluctuations that swept in, transporting them to Red Dust Mountain!
With a loud boom, the ground exploded, and the Demon Lord’s attack missed, surprise written all over his face.
“How could there still be a backup plan for escape… It’s just a desperate struggle. I have already memorized your auras!”
He grinned menacingly, looking towards the distant mountaintop.
“This lord hasn’t died?”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord was astonished; by now, they had arrived at the Joyful Union Sect.
“We are safe now.”
Liu Yan let out a long sigh of relief, collapsing to the ground.
“This is safety?”
The Sage Heart scanned the surroundings with confusion. This place was just a ruined sect; what made it capable of offering them protection?
At that moment, dark clouds rolled in from the sky, surging towards them.
“That guy is chasing us again!”
“Don’t worry, he’s just seeking his own death.”
Liu Yan said confidently.
“Hahaha… Why aren’t you running? Hurry up and flee; this will add some entertainment for me!”
The Glutton Demon Lord said, enjoying the thrill of torturing his prey.
“Since you’re not running, then die!”
Just as he was about to act, his expression suddenly changed; he felt a powerful aura pressing down on him, causing him to fall heavily to the ground like a bird with broken wings.
“It’s a formation!”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord’s face turned pale. She hadn’t noticed anything strange until the formation activated, which indicated just how sophisticated it was.
“So this is your confidence? But we should still figure out how to escape; an ordinary formation can’t hold back a Demon Lord level expert.”
“You’re right. Such trivial tricks can’t save you!”
The Demon Lord struggled to rise, his face twisted, stepping forward slowly.
But soon, he noticed something was amiss.
With each step, the surrounding pressure increased terrifyingly, significantly repressing his strength.
“Hiss…”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord couldn’t help but gasp. To her, the Demon Lord’s power had already been suppressed to its limits. Now, he was no different from an ordinary person.
“What kind of formation is this? How can it do such a thing? Was this really set by a human?”
She was filled with suspicion. Although she had never killed a human, she enjoyed observing them. In her impression, she had never seen a strong enough human to set up such a formation.
Could it be that humans were hiding their talents, concealing their top fighters, preparing to strike the Demonic Race with a severe blow?
“Liu Yan, kill him!”
“Understood!”
Upon hearing the command from her lord, Liu Yan did not hesitate.
“You want to kill me? You must be dreaming! Luckily, I have a magical artifact bestowed by the Demon Lord!”
The Glutton Demon Lord laughed, producing a demonic bottle from his bosom, aiming it at the two before him.
“Not good, it’s the Soul Destruction Bottle!” The Sage Heart Demon Lord exclaimed. “Quick, dodge!”
Dark, terrifying energy was about to erupt from the opening of the bottle, ready to destroy everything around them.
Just then, light flashed in the void, and an even more terrible aura descended.
“Bang!”
With a crisp sound, the Soul Destruction Bottle exploded on the spot, with the Demon Lord taking the brunt, targeted by that aura.
“No!!!”
Fear appeared on his face as blood and flesh melted away, bones shattered, and organs collapsed, leaving only a heap of ashes that were then blown away by the wind.
“How is this possible? Am I not dreaming?”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord was drenched in sweat, horrified by the scene before her.
In the span of less than two blinks, a Demon Lord had been easily killed. What kind of terrifying formation was this?
“Liu Yan, tell me, have you really seen the human who set up this formation?”
“Of course, he was a remarkable young man, though his cultivation doesn’t seem too high.”
“Shallow! This has to be a disguise; he’s definitely a super old monster!”
“I think the same, my lord.”
The Sage Heart Demon Lord’s expression turned grave, and suddenly she caught a whiff of a refreshing scent.
“What… what is this? It must be something extraordinarily nourishing!”
Her eyes brightened, and following the smell, she rushed towards the spiritual herb room.
“Heavens, it’s actually the Seven-Star Crimson Lotus; it can help me rebuild my cultivation rapidly.”
As her words fell, she was about to pounce.
“Wait, Demon Lord! This will anger that powerful being!” Liu Yan hurriedly stopped her.
Hearing this, the Demon Lord couldn’t help but swallow hard. “Just being able to look but not eat is truly tormenting. I’ll just have one leaf; I’m sure that being won’t notice. As long as I’m not discovered, it won’t count as a mistake!”
She comforted herself, already reaching out her small hand.
