Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Trials of Order
Raven woke up suddenly, coming back to his senses after being knocked out. "Ugh, Not again! Feeling a strong headache"
"At least I survived Lucien," he muttered.
He sat up and looked around the dark cell. The flickering torchlight made shadows dance on the floor and rough walls, making the place feel even smaller.
"I had been knocked out by a masked man.
So where could this be", he muttered
Suddenly, a message popped in front of him:
System Notification
Quest Started: Survive the Order of Death
-Main Quest: Stay alive and figure out why Lysander Valtor is interested in you.
- Reward: 100 XP; unlock more quests.
"The Order of Death? These guys are bad news," Raven thought, his mind racing. So I need to figure out their intentions. Come on, this isn't even a test. These people are assassins—what else could their intentions be?
Just as he was having his moment of silence the sound of footsteps broke his thoughts, Moments later, the cell door creaked open, and a hooded man stepped inside. His presence was intimidating.
"Get up, boy," the masked man said coldly.
Raven tensed but took a deep breath and stood tall. Whatever everything is fucked up already how bad could it be. The masked man grabbed his arm roughly and dragged him into the dim hallway outside the cell.
"This feels just like something out of that book," Raven thought with a strange sense of déjà vu. "The Order of Death's hideout—a place where prisoners either work or die."
---
As Raven walked down the hallways, he entered a large hall dimly lit by torches by the wall. Lysander Valtor stood at the center of the hall,
He looked exactly how Raven imagined from the novel—powerful aura, well-dressed, and both cool and terrifying at the same time.
The flickering light showed his face, making him look unreal. His sharp eyes focused on Raven.
"Raven," Lysander said with a sly smile. "I heard you've learned Bloodcraft isn't it."
Raven clenched his fists, trying not to show any fear.
Very typical he is after the bloodcraft after all "
And what if I have?" he replied calmly,
even though he felt a bit uneasy.
Lysander stepped closer, his intense eyes cutting through the dim light. "Interesting," he said smoothly. "Someone like you with such dangerous power... I wonder how you'll use it."
Raven was nervous at Lysander's words but refused to back down."I don't give a fuck neither am I going to help," he said firmly,
Lysander's smile turned more menacing. "You don't have a choice here, the Imperial Vanguard are looking for you, I am the only one that can save you," he said in a low, threatening voice. Has he went closer
Raven sensed dark energy coming from him.
Suddenly, Lysander's hand grabbed Raven by the throat. Umbra flames covering his fingers, lighting up Raven's face with his dark energy
"Let me make one thing clear," Lysander growled. "I could kill you right here if I wanted."
Raven gasped for air as the heat burned against his neck.
Health in critical condition
Rapid regeneration activated
Then Lysander's eyes shifted to Raven's closing injuries
"Interesting…" Lysander muttered with a smirk. "Rapid regeneration... So this is how the technique works.
He let go of Raven and watched him fall to the ground, coughing and struggling for breath.
"Killing you would be a waste," Lysander said after a moment. "Instead, I'll give you a chance—prove that you're worth keeping alive."
Raven glared up at him as thoughts raced through his mind I just finished part of this quest.
Lysander gestured to the masked man nearby. "Take him to a room so he can recover."
The masked man grabbed Raven up by his arm and dragged him away again. As they walked, Raven couldn't stop thinking,Damn I just have to survive here? Even if I escape, I don't have a plan... and this stupid power will just make me more of a target.
The masked man brought Raven to the room with only a thin bed and a small mirror on one wall.
He was too tired to bother about what he should do next, so Raven collapsed onto the bed.
Raven stared at the ceiling, System Notification popped up the one he had received earlier:

At dawn, Raven was brought to the training yard, where Jamal, a towering man known for his brutal training methods, awaited him. His sharp eyes assessed Raven with a hint of amusement.
"Lysander wants you trained. Lucky me," Jamal smirked, crossing his arms over his chest.
The initial drills were tough. Raven lost his balance and kept missing his hits, and sweat was dripping off his face. Jamal was tossing out criticisms left and right, making it obvious that there wasn't any space for mistakes.
"You'll never survive at this rate," Jamal snarled. "Focus or die. It's that simple."
Raven was filled with desperation and he needed to change his method, he leaped in air and activated Blood Chain. Crimson-like chains shot out from his hands, reaching for Jamal.
Jamal instinctively raised his hands to protect himself, but a smile grew on his face as Raven's power appeared. "Now we're getting somewhere!" Jamal laughed, clearly excited by the challenge.
The chains were wrapped around Jamal's arms, pulling him closer. Seizing the moment, Raven delivered a swift punch that caught Jamal off guard.
The move caught the attention of the other masked assassins in the training yard, who stopped to watch in curiosity as Raven showed his bravery.
"However Jamal wasn't worried at all. He quickly grabbed one of the blood chains, pulled Raven closer, and nailed him with a solid punch that knocked him right to the ground."
Raven groaned, breathing hard as he looked up at Jamal, "You have potential, but don't let it go to your head. Your skills are rough. Maybe with time..."
With a playful shove, Jamal stepped back, his interest piqued.
"I think you should head to the Hall now. Lysander will want to see you." He paused, looking down at Raven with a smirk. "I don't care if you die in there; you're his pawn anyway."
---
As Raven stood in the training yard, bruised, he felt a strong determination rise inside him. I can't let myself be used. I will learn to control this power and find a way out of this nightmare.
