Who Let Him Cultivate?!

Chapter 708: An Eye-Opening Experience

Half a month had passed since Guanqi Zhenjun made his abode in his own spiritual space. During this time, Tao Tingfeng had been learning about cultivation both at the academy with his clan uncle and under the tutelage of Guanqi Zhenjun. Of course, this naturally involved enduring Guanqi Zhenjun's scoldings.

"Rubbish, all rubbish! What the hell is this nonsense?"

"To draw Qi into the body like that? No wonder the realms of your family are so lowly."

"You need to calm your mind and feel the omnipresent spiritual essence. Then, at dawn, use the first glimmer of morning light as a lure to mobilize the spiritual energy around you and draw both the light and the spiritual energy into your body. The more concentrated the spiritual energy around you during this process, the better!" cursed Guanqi Zhenjun.

"When it's time for you to draw Qi into your body, don't use the method taught by your clan uncle; it's rubbish."

On the stage, the Foundation Establishment Middle-stage clan uncle paused and said, "Of course, the method I'm teaching you to draw Qi into your body is just one of many. You may end up joining one of the Great Sects, and then you can use the methods taught by your Sect."

Hearing these words, Lu Yang shuddered. He remembered the cruel experiences Eldest Senior Sister put him through when he had first joined the Sect to induce Qi into to his body - the water barrel exercises, grabbing tofu, eating tofu - until he developed a psychological shadow over tofu. Only then had he successfully drawn Qi into his body and stepped into the Qi Cultivation Stage.

It was said that this was the initial method used by the ancients to draw Qi into their bodies. Although it was simple, it was very effective.

"Fairy, how did you draw Qi into your body? Did you use the ancient method?"

Fairy Eternity was quite surprised, "Ah? There's a method for drawing Qi into your body? Isn't it just something that happens after you sleep, isn't that how it was for you?"

Lu Yang: "..."

He then turned his head and asked Meng Jingzhou, "Old Meng, how did you draw Qi into your body when you were starting out?"

Meng Jingzhou stroked his chin and replied, "Let me think... back before the scandal broke and when my relationship with my dad was still good, he told me that the most important thing to draw Qi into the body was the concentration of spiritual essence; the denser, the better."

"After coming to the Sect, I arranged a circle of top-grade spirit stones around me, shattered these spirit stones to fill the abode with thick spiritual essence, and just absorbing a trace was enough."

Lu Yang: "..."

Even cultivators at the Body Integration Realm wouldn't dare use such a lavish method.

"Do you have some conflicts with your father?" Lu Yang had never asked Meng Jingzhou why he ran away from home, assuming he did it on a whim.

Now it seemed there were some hidden reasons.

Meng Jingzhou waved his hand nonchalantly, "They are all trivial things, too many for me to count."

Lu Yang felt that Meng Jingzhou's return home was a long way off.

After school, Tao Tingfeng ran all the way to a large shop. A long line had formed at the entrance, with excitement gracing the faces of those in the queue.

A wooden sign was propped up at the entrance of the shop, on which was written: "Eternal Life."

"What is this place?" Guanqi Zhenjun frowned, for in his memory, he hadn't seen such a venue. Was it some new fad among the mortals?

"Dream Mirage, haven't you heard of it, Zhenjun?" Tao Tingfeng looked at Guanqi Zhenjun with an utterly shocked expression. There were still people who hadn't heard of Dream Mirage?

"Dream Mirage?" Guanqi Zhenjun thought hard but truly had no recollection of such a thing.

"It's said to be created by a Great Power from the Seek Dao Sect, allowing you to enter an illusionary realm and experience a different life."

At these words, Guanqi Zhenjun snorted coldly. He was proficient in all the Hundred Skills of Cultivation and could guess the principle of Dream Mirage simply by its description, "I thought it was something significant. It turns out to be an illusionary realm, just clever tricks and petty playthings."

"Dream Mirage is not a petty plaything. It's very popular, all across the continent," corrected Tao Tingfeng as he paid for a ticket.

Inside the shop, the ground and walls were equipped with array methods that could be activated with the tickets in hand.

"Wait, are you saying that this thing is all over Great Xia?" Chess Watcher True Monarch seemed to have discovered some incredible fact.

"Yep, and every shop is packed with people just like this one," Tao Tingfeng said, pointing to the throng of people inside the shop.

Chess Watcher True Monarch's heart trembled slightly as he multiplied the cost of the tickets Tao Tingfeng had paid by the number of people in the shop, and then by the number of shops across the continent.

A rough estimate showed that it could make him a lifetime's worth of Spirit Stones in just four months!

How much had the creator of Dream Mirage earned in Spirit Stones by now?

He probably had enough to buy the lives of several cultivators at the Body Integration Realm!

Chess Watcher True Monarch shivered, wishing he could travel back in time to Great Qian and make money this way.

If he had that many Spirit Stones, he would have broken through to the Transcendance Tribulation Stage already. Would he have had to sleep until now, getting robbed and chased down by enemies?

Tao Tingfeng tore open the ticket as the Array Method beneath his feet activated. Emptying his mind, he entered the Illusionary Realm.

What first caught his eye was a sunny and handsome cultivator holding a skewer in his left hand and another in his right, with others grilling skewers beside him. The cultivator took a skewer, and as the view zoomed in, one could clearly see the juicy skewers glistening.

The cultivator's mouth was full of the rich taste and he exaggeratedly exclaimed "Wow" and gave a thumbs up: "Visiting the barbecue shop again, so delicious!"

Chess Watcher True Monarch: "..."

What the heck is this?

"Eternal Love" officially begins.

The male protagonist of "Eternal Love" is a disciple from one of the Great Sects. He has a childhood sweetheart junior sister, and another junior sister he meets while on a mission from another sect. Coincidentally, both junior sisters fall for him.

The story revolves around the three of them and, after a series of trials and tribulations, the male disciple finally realizes his true feelings and rescues his childhood sweetheart junior sister from a gang of demons, confessing his love. With tears in her eyes, the junior sister agrees, and they live happily ever after with an eternal life together.

The story ends.

After watching Dream Mirage, Tao Tingfeng found himself craving skewers: "Time for some skewers."

Chess Watcher True Monarch scoffed at Tao Tingfeng's behavior: "Indulging in gluttony, how can one realize the ultimate path."

On the way to the barbecue shop, they passed by the Land Money Trade Association, where a new model of a Flying Car was displayed at the entrance. Tao Tingfeng looked on with envy but could only yearn; it was something beyond his means.

Chess Watcher True Monarch also looked on with envy. The profit from this thing called a Flying Car was incredibly high, and even he was getting green with envy.

These were all such simple things; why hadn't he thought of them back in Great Qian!

Oh right, it would have been pointless to invent these things in Great Qian because they don't protect intellectual property.

"Come for Barbecue" was as popular as ever—so much so that even the Immortal of Spirit Transformation Realm, who had ascended the mountain to slay demons not long ago, had visited this barbecue shop.

Chess Watcher True Monarch's eyes turned green with envy.

He made a secret vow to himself: once he restored his Realm, he would definitely steal the barbecue shop's recipes!

"How's your observation going? Who is this Chess Watcher True Monarch?" Meng Jingzhou asked Lu Yang, as he couldn't see into Tao Tingfeng's Spiritual Space.

Lu Yang pondered for a moment before replying, "He's a pauper."
