Chapter 53: February 14 - Sunny (Part 2)
Joey had no idea Valentine's Day in Hogsmeade could be so lively. Couples filled the streets, and every shop was decked out in colorful decorations. Even the pig's head at the Hog's Head Inn was wearing a pink headband, though the owner was less than thrilled.
"Ridiculous! I'm too old for this nonsense!" the owner grumbled, trying to yank off the headband, which had been magically stuck in place.
Joey and Fred watched the scene with amusement until the owner shooed them away. "Who do you think did that?" Joey asked, glancing back at the pig's head.
"No idea, but they've got a unique sense of humor," Fred replied, though his mind was elsewhere.
Fred's hand was sweating as he held Joey's. They rarely had time alone at school, and when they did, George always seemed to show up. It had been a month since their last kiss, and Fred couldn't stop glancing at Joey's red lips, wondering what her lipstick tasted like.
As they walked, a Gryffindor couple recommended Madame Puddifoot's Teahouse. "It's so romantic!" the girl gushed, while her boyfriend rolled his eyes behind her.
Joey had heard of the teahouse—rumored to be a favorite among Hogwarts couples. She immediately decided they had to check it out.
---
The joke shop was packed, and Joey struggled to squeeze through the crowd. Fred, ever resourceful, tossed two "Boom Coins" on the ground. The loud *ding* caught everyone's attention, and Fred shouted, "Who dropped a Galleon?"
As people scrambled to find the coin, Fred pulled Joey through the crowd. "That was brilliant!" Joey said, giving him a thumbs-up.
Joey was fascinated by the Nose-Biting Teacups, and Fred reluctantly admitted they were kind of fun. They bought two, planning to prank George and Angelina later.
Next, they visited the pink-themed beauty shop, where Joey found a magical hair dye that changed color with a spray. "It's like a Metamorphmagus!" Joey exclaimed, thinking of Tonks, the seventh-year Auror she admired.
---
Madame Puddifoot's Teahouse was a pink lace nightmare. Fred hesitated at the door. "This looks... suffocating."
Joey agreed, but before they could decide, a couple behind them pushed them inside. Madame Puddifoot greeted them enthusiastically. "Merlin, you two are a perfect match! Handsome and beautiful!"
Fred and Joey exchanged a look. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all.
---
Meanwhile, George and Ryan were wandering Hogsmeade—an unlikely pair. Ryan had been lured out of the library with the promise of a new bookstore, but so far, no such luck.
"Where's this bookstore you mentioned?" Ryan asked, growing suspicious.
George, scanning the shops, replied, "Patience, my friend. I promise you won't be disappointed."
---
Back at the teahouse, Fred and Joey sat at a tiny table cluttered with strawberry-flavored drinks. Fred noticed a couple kissing nearby and felt a pang of jealousy. He glanced at Joey, who was playing with the Nose-Biting Teacup.
"Hey, Fred," Joey called softly.
"Ow!" Fred yelped as the teacup latched onto his nose.
Joey burst into laughter, her hat slipping off. Fred couldn't help but stare. Her cheeks were flushed, and a strand of hair fell across her lips. He leaned in, whispering, "Joey, come here."
Joey leaned closer, her eyes sparkling. "What's up?"
Fred gently bit the tip of her nose, making her gasp. Before she could react, he kissed her, sweeping the strand of hair behind her ear. Joey's hands clutched his shoulders as the kiss deepened, her mind spinning.
Outside the teahouse, Ryan and George stood frozen. Ryan's face turned red as he watched his sister kissing Fred through the window. "What the hell is going on?!" he roared.
George, trying not to laugh, said, "Looks like Fred and Joey are... busy."
Ryan stormed toward the teahouse, but George held him back. "Let's not interrupt, yeah?"
Ryan wasn't having it. He pounded on the window, startling Fred and Joey apart. Joey's face was flushed, and Fred looked like a deer caught in headlights.
"Joey! What are you doing?!" Ryan shouted.
Joey glared at him. "What does it look like?!"
"You're too young to be dating!"
"Says who? You?!"
"I'm your brother!"
"Since when do I need your permission?!"
The argument escalated, drawing a crowd. Fred tried to intervene, but Ryan was too furious. He pulled Joey away, dragging her back to Hogwarts.
George clapped Fred on the shoulder. "Congratulations, mate. You're officially a public boyfriend now."
Fred sighed, watching Joey and Ryan disappear into the distance. "This is going to be a long day."
