Through the Pages of Time: Joey’s Hogwarts Tale

Chapter 51: February 4 - Gale (Part 2)

The courtyard erupted in chaos as Professor Quirrell's turban flew off, revealing a second face on the back of his head. Gasps and screams filled the air.

"Ah—"

"Look! Two heads!"

"Stop playing! This is serious!"

The commotion drew the attention of the Harry trio, who came running from Hagrid's hut. But before they could process what was happening, Quirrell lunged at Harry, his face twisted in rage.

"Kill him! Kill him!" the second head on Quirrell's skull screamed.

Harry was lifted into the air, his face turning red as he struggled. Cedric, appearing out of nowhere, disarmed Quirrell with a spell, but the professor turned on him with a cold glare.

Joey, Fred, and the others sprang into action. Joey cast a Shield Charm on Harry, but the shadowy figure emerging from Quirrell's body absorbed all their spells.

"What the hell is that?!" Fred shouted, pulling Joey out of harm's way.

Joey's hands trembled, but Fred's grip steadied her. "What are you afraid of? He's just ugly!" Fred said with a grin.

Joey laughed, her fear melting away. "You're right!" She unleashed a barrage of spells, but the shadow swallowed them all.

"Harry, touch him!" Cedric shouted, his voice firm.

"Are you insane?!" Ron yelled back.

But Harry listened, grabbing Quirrell's face. The professor screamed as his skin began to crack and crumble into dust. The shadow roared, rushing at Cedric and knocking him to the ground.

"Stop, Voldemort!" Dumbledore's voice boomed across the courtyard.

The shadow fled, and Dumbledore gave chase. The professors quickly surrounded Quirrell, shielding him from view. Madam Pomfrey rushed to Cedric's side, while Joey and the others followed, their hearts pounding.

In the hospital wing, Professor Snape arrived with a potion, his face pale. "Is he gone?" he asked, his voice trembling.

"Who? Dumbledore?" Madam Pomfrey replied, confused.

"The Dark Lord," Snape clarified, his tone urgent.

Ron whispered to Hermione, "Only Death Eaters call him that!"

Snape's sharp gaze silenced Ron. "A group of Gryffindors," he muttered before disappearing.

Dumbledore returned, asking for a moment alone with Harry. Joey and the others left, though Ron couldn't stop asking questions.

"What will Dumbledore say to Harry?" Ron wondered.

"Maybe they'll discuss the dinner menu," Joey joked, earning a glare from Ron.

Back in the Gryffindor common room, the students buzzed with excitement. Joey and Fred recounted the events, while Flami hid in the library, avoiding questions about the Dark Lord's return.

Ryan pulled Joey aside, checking her for injuries. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice tense.

Joey launched into an exaggerated retelling, but Ryan cut her off. "Do you want me to write all this in a letter?" he asked, unimpressed.

Joey sighed, giving a more objective account before Ryan sent her back to the common room.

At dinner, Harry returned, his expression solemn. The other houses eyed him warily, but the Gryffindors rallied around him.

"Hey, Harry! I heard you've got a curse that turns people into powder!" Fred said, grabbing Harry's hand. "Let's see if it works on me!"

The Gryffindors took turns "testing" Harry's curse, laughing and joking to ease his fears. Harry's eyes welled with tears, grateful for their support.

Just as Harry was about to wipe his eyes, a man in a luxurious cloak strode into the Great Hall. He pushed past Filch and embraced Harry.

"Hello, Harry. Long time no see. I'm your godfather, Sirius Black."

The room fell silent as Harry stared at the man, his world turning upside down once again.
