Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Willie vs Moss
"What?"
High above in the sky,
Dal's pupils contracted.
His third eye opened wide as he stared in shock at El, who had appeared before him without warning. "Just now, that was…"
It definitely wasn't teleportation—just pure speed. But that wasn't the main point.
What truly astounded him was that he, someone born with a special form of Observation Haki (the ability to foresee the future), had been completely unable to detect his father's movement. He hadn't seen that future at all.
"All right, so seeing the future isn't invincible. You've still got a lot to learn, kid!" El rapped Dal lightly on the head, smiling. At the same time, a sense of pride welled up within him.
Of all his children, El favored and admired this immensely gifted second son the most. Someday, Dal's accomplishments might not be inferior even to those of the eighth child, Ares—who had perfectly inherited the genes of two monstrous parents and had also obtained the Fish-Fish Fruit, Mythical Type: Azure Dragon. Great things were expected of him as well.
"This is the rumored 'Observation Killer' technique?"
Rubbing his head, Dal's face showed a flicker of stunned realization. "That's… unbelievable…"
When he was young, his father once told him that there were mighty individuals who could erase their presence, preventing opponents from using Observation Haki to foresee their actions—an ability known as "Observation Killer." El had warned him not to rely too heavily on foreseeing the future. Dal had never actually encountered such a person until now. Clearly, his father—hailed as the "World's Strongest Creature"—possessed that very skill. With El's staggering talent, it was doubtless not a recent development—he just never bothered to display it before his own son.
Whoosh…
The two tall figures touched down on the ground.
"Uncle Ushimaru, shall we continue?" Dal turned to the battered-looking Shimotsuki Ushimaru, smiling.
"My Dal-sama, your talent is simply extraordinary… I concede."
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Shimotsuki Ushimaru looked a bit disheveled. Naturally, it stung his pride to be bested by a mere seventeen-year-old, but facts were facts; he had clearly been outmatched. It wasn't just about Devil Fruit prowess—Dal's swordsmanship truly surpassed his own.
"Mamamama, that was quite a spectacular swordfight!"
Back on Atlantis, Linlin giggled in approval.
"That kid's strength probably exceeds my own by now!" Dal's mother, Lillian, couldn't help marveling. Having grown increasingly mature and enchanting over the years, this Three-Eye Tribe beauty nonetheless felt a surge of pride. There was nothing shameful about being surpassed by her own child; on the contrary, she was delighted.
"Mom, Dal-nii is awesome!"
Beside Lillian stood a little girl, already taller than Lillian's three-meter frame and sharing a similar look to Dal. She beamed excitedly. "Someday I'm gonna be just as strong as he is!"
A spirited, adorable child of about six, she wore her hair in a ponytail. She had a third eye in her forehead as well as black wings on her back and flames dancing behind her head.
"Haim, if you want to match your brother Dal, you'll have to work very hard!" Lilian encouraged, smiling at her six-year-old daughter, who, thanks to Lineage Factor, showed astonishing potential herself. Resting a hand on her pregnant belly, Lillian felt renewed anticipation for her unborn son—already determined by examination to be a boy, and likewise enhanced by lineage factor engineering.
"Yes, Mama. I'll work hard…"
Little Haim nodded solemnly, tiny fists clenched.
"Whew—"
Just then, the fourth child, Willie, jumped off the huge shoulder of the seventh child, Frey, and flew over to the ruined island.
"Healing Light!" He raised his hand, emitting a radiant, holy glow that settled upon Shimotsuki Ushimaru, the Pegasus Swordmaster, gradually healing his wounds.
Whoosh…
Ushimaru's entire body shone. He exhaled in relief, and the minor injuries he'd sustained recovered instantly. Though still looking somewhat ragged, he was physically back to normal.
"Thank you, Willie-sama!" Ushimaru said with a grateful smile.
"No need to thank me, Uncle Ushimaru," Willie replied with a warm smile, carrying himself with a modest grace that put people at ease. His stunning good looks made it nearly impossible to dislike him.
"All right, now it's your turn, Willie!" El said, smiling. Willie might not be as monstrously gifted as some of his siblings in physique or innate talent, but through diligence, the innate abilities of the Lunarian race, and the Mythical Zoan Angel form, he had trained persistently for many years. Strictly speaking, his strength was far from poor. What's more, Willie's naturally kind-hearted temperament led him to use his Fruit powers selflessly to heal illnesses and injuries throughout the Totto Land Kingdom, making him very popular. His handsome face had also won him the adoration of countless women—so much so that many young ladies refused to marry anyone else, causing no end of headaches for Tsuru, the grand steward.
Fortunately, though good-natured, Willie wasn't gullible or easily manipulated; when facing an enemy, he could be decisive and ruthless. Otherwise, it would be El himself who'd have the headache.
"Yes, Father!" the fourth child said, his manner suddenly becoming more serious.
"Whew…"
At that moment, Griffin Moss flapped his wings and landed. Clad in shimmering gold fur and in the prime of life, he offered Willie a friendly smile. "Please do me the honor, Willie-sama!"
"Likewise, Uncle Moss," said Willie. Age sixteen, his height was around five meters—and he still had plenty of room to grow. Among the Kukulkan clan, he wasn't considered tall, almost "short" in comparison; but standing next to Moss, a lion Mink of roughly the same size, they matched up fairly well.
"Good luck!" Dal patted Willie's shoulder in encouragement, nodding to Griffin Moss before taking wing alongside Ushimaru toward Atlantis, leaving the battlefield.
"Whoosh…"
El spread his wings, withdrawing to a safe distance without another word. The fight was on.
Hiss—
In an instant, Willie's aura soared.
He drew a splendid sword from his waist and held it ready. This legendary blade, "Lanwayus," was not one of El's own forging but was instead an Supreme Grade sword offered by a certain New World kingdom eager to secure the Fallen Angel Pirates' protection.
"Pardon me, Willie-sama—Shigan Thrust!"
Just then, Griffin Moss pressed down with a hoof, displaying the raw power expected of the Eight Vajra. His form blurred, moving as swiftly as lightning. Being a lion Mink, his claw-like nails flashed with electricity. He lunged toward Willie in a thrusting attack.
Clang!!
Willie's eyes narrowed.
Using his Observation Haki to predict the strike, he raised his sword just in time to block that blisteringly fast blow. But he had no opportunity to counterattack—Moss vanished again in a flicker.
Whoosh!
The next moment, Moss appeared high above, unleashing a fierce kick. "Rankyaku: Lion Fang!"
Swish—
The air tore like fabric.
A huge, pale-green slicing wave screamed forward in the shape of a ferocious lion baring its fangs. It lunged at Willie with lethal force.
"One-Sword Style: Blazing Slash!" Willie refused to yield.
His sword, wreathed in flames and hot gusts, slashed horizontally.
BOOM!!!
