THE STREET KING

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The War Expands

Chapter 19: The War Expands

1. A City on the Edge

Tae-sung was furious.

The attack in Itaewon wasn't just a loss.

It was a message.

Jinwoo wasn't dead.

And now—he was coming for him.

Tae-sung stood in his penthouse, watching the skyline.

His grip tightened around his whiskey glass.

"So," he muttered.

"He's back."

Behind him, Hye-jin stood in silence.

Her expression unreadable.

She had warned him.

Told him Jinwoo wouldn't stay buried.

But Tae-sung had been too arrogant.

He turned to face her.

"You still have control over him?"

Hye-jin met his gaze.

"I had control over his heart."

She paused.

"But his heart is dead now."

Tae-sung smirked.

"Then let's see how dead it really is."

2. Setting the Trap

Jinwoo's next move was simple: take another piece of Tae-sung's empire.

This time, a shipment at Incheon Port.

But Kang Seok hesitated.

"This feels too easy," he muttered.

Jinwoo lit a cigarette.

"It is."

Seok frowned.

"Then why—"

Jinwoo exhaled smoke, his eyes cold.

"Because we need to know what Tae-sung is planning."

Even if it was a trap, he had to walk into it.

But he wouldn't walk in blind.

The Wolves would be waiting.

And if Tae-sung thought he could end this tonight—

He was wrong.

---

3. Fire in the Night

The port was silent when Jinwoo arrived.

Too silent.

His gut twisted.

Then—

Gunfire exploded.

Figures emerged from the darkness—Tae-sung's men.

A setup.

A slaughter.

Jinwoo dived behind cover, bullets tearing through the air.

They knew he was coming.

But he wasn't alone.

With a sharp whistle, the Wolves moved.

Guns flared.

Blades flashed.

Jinwoo moved like a phantom.

One by one, Tae-sung's men fell.

Blood spilled across the docks.

Jinwoo's body burned with adrenaline.

He was alive.

Then—

A familiar voice.

"Jinwoo."

He turned.

And there she was.

Hye-jin.

---

4. The Face of Betrayal

The gun in her hand was steady.

Her expression—cold.

She had betrayed him once.

Now, she was standing before him again.

A thousand emotions clashed in Jinwoo's chest.

Hate.

Rage.

Love.

"Are you here to finish it?" he asked, voice low.

Hye-jin's grip tightened.

"You don't belong in this world anymore."

Jinwoo laughed bitterly.

"I built this world."

She exhaled, eyes unreadable.

"Then let me be the one to bury it."

She pulled the trigger.

Jinwoo moved.

The bullet whizzed past his cheek.

And in that moment—he knew.

She hadn't missed.

She had warned him.

A second shot rang out—not from Hye-jin.

A bullet slammed into the ground where he had stood.

Tae-sung's real sniper had fired.

She had saved him.

But why?

---

5. War Has Only Begun

The battle at the port ended with flames in the water.

Jinwoo escaped, but not without losses.

Kang Seok was injured.

The Wolves had taken hits.

But one thing was clear—

This wasn't a street fight anymore.

This was war.

Tae-sung had made his move.

Now, it was Jinwoo's turn.

And this time—

He wouldn't just take pieces of Tae-sung's empire.

He would take everything.
