Chapter 37: [37] The Crossdresser Was Right Beside Me?
"However, Shizuku's goal has been achieved!"
The slender male shifted his gaze, covering his lips with a delicate laugh as he gestured toward Shizuku Kurogane.
Following his line of sight, Shizuku suddenly noticed that her brother was staring at her, seemingly stunned by her sudden beauty, unable to snap out of it.
Shizuku's mood instantly improved, and the annoyance of the wardrobe clash was thrown to the back of her mind. Her eyes curved like crescent moons as she chuckled happily.
"Even though it's unavoidable, this isn't so bad!"
As long as her brother could see her in a new light, that was enough. The opinions of others, whether they matched outfits or not, didn't matter.
"Perverted sis-con."
"Ahem!"
Stella glared coldly at Ikki, causing him to snap out of his daze and cough awkwardly.
"To be so mesmerized by your own sister... I really misjudged you."
"W-Well..."
Ikki stammered, at a loss for words.
Although it had been four years since he last saw his sister Shizuku, and there was undoubtedly a sense of novelty between them, being so captivated by his own sister was still far too unethical.
He hadn't been mesmerized by Nene, but the moment Shizuku arrived, he was instantly struck by her beauty. This made him wonder, "Am I really a siscon?"
Nene was indeed a cute beauty who was no less charming than Shizuku. However, the reason Ikki hadn't been captivated by her was simply because, the moment they met, his attention was entirely focused on her extraordinary aura.
She moved silently, her posture seemingly casual yet exuding a latent power like a volcano. While someone as carefree as Stella might not notice, as a swordsman, Ikki had keenly sensed that she was an unimaginably skilled expert.
Compared to that, Nene's appearance was far less important.
—Swordsmen were often like that.
"B-By the way, Shizuku, who is this?"
To avoid further cold stares from Stella, Ikki quickly changed the topic, looking toward the slender male beside Shizuku.
"Hehehe, this is my roommate and good friend. His name is Nagi Arisuin, and he's a makeup expert. My look today was entirely his doing."
Shizuku seemed to be in a good mood. Being so admired by her brother made her feel like she had won a small victory, so she proudly puffed out her chest and introduced him with a smile.
Her?
Including Eiji, the other four were all stunned.
This person named Arisuin Nagi was dressed in a style similar to Shizuku's, wearing a bowler hat and exuding a very gentlemanly aura. His smile was bright, and by all appearances, he was clearly male.
"Hello, everyone~ My name is Nagi Arisuin, a girl who was accidentally born in the wrong body. I really dislike being called by my full name, so I hope you can all call me Alice~☆!"
He removed his bowler hat and gave a gentlemanly bow, then extended his hand toward the group with a friendly smile.
"Ahaha..."
Ikki let out a somewhat strained laugh and shook his hand.
What is this?
He knew his body was male, so it didn't seem like gender dysphoria. Was he just effeminate, or a crossdresser?
While they had heard about such things online, encountering it in real life was a first for both Ikki and Stella, and they both seemed a bit awkward.
"Hey hey, I've been wanting to ask since earlier—what's your name?"
After shaking hands with Ikki and Stella, Nagi quickly turned around and fixed his eager gaze on Eiji, his smile brimming with anticipation.
"Looking closely, you're such a super handsome boy! Can you tell me your name?"
He asked several times in a row, showing extreme enthusiasm.
"Uh... My name is Eiji—"
"Ara! Ma! What a wonderful name~!"
Before Eiji could even finish speaking, Nagi jumped in with praise.
No, by Japanese standards, Eiji's name was quite unusual and couldn't really be considered a "good name."
"Can we be friends? Or rather, do you have a girlfriend? If not, would you consider me?"
He leaned in with a beaming smile, eagerly grabbing Eiji's hands.
To be fair, Eiji was well aware of his current charm. Walking down the street, not only did women frequently turn their heads, but even men often gave him lingering looks, and sometimes shy glances from certain individuals.
But this was the first time he had encountered someone like this, and being openly hit on was a completely new experience. His smile became very strained.
Thanks, but I want to run now.
Sure, he had wanted to poke fun at Stella and the others, but if it meant attracting the attention of a strange individual, the cost of that amusement would be far too high!
"Hey, brat! If you push your luck any further, don't blame me for flattening you into a photo!"
A cold voice filled with killing intent rang out.
Nene's voice came from the side. Though her voice was sweet and intellectual, the words she spoke made everyone feel as if they had been plunged into an icy abyss.
Turning to look, Nene's face was icy, her eyes focused on Nagi's hands holding Eiji's, as if she intended to kill him with her gaze.
"Ahaha... Just kidding, just kidding! Actually, I'm interested in Ikki!"
Nagi's expression stiffened slightly, and he quickly backed off with a laugh, eagerly grabbing Ikki's hand instead.
"Huh?"
"Wait, what?!"
"Alice, I'll kill you, you know?"
Ikki looked utterly bewildered, Stella's pupils shook violently, and Shizuku, who had somehow summoned a small silver tanto, its blade shimmering with a clear, flowing light, spoke in a low, threatening tone.
Japan's best roommate, Shizuku Kurogane.
"Ahaha, Shizuku, put away your device! I was just joking! Just kidding! I apologize, okay?"
Nagi was instantly frightened out of his wits, quickly bowing his head in apology. After much pleading, Shizuku reluctantly put away her device, though she still looked displeased.
Nagi was frustrated.
Eiji, with his near-perfect charm, was a given, but Ikki was also quite the handsome boy, with a kind and approachable aura that was very appealing. Unfortunately, both of them were guarded by fiercely protective "tigers," making them completely off-limits. Otherwise, he might accidentally find himself in mortal danger.
To be fair, Nagi was also quite a stylish and handsome guy. If Eiji hadn't recently stolen all the spotlight at Hagun Academy, he probably would have had many girls fawning over him.
"That scared me... I've never been so grateful to you, Senior Sister!"
Eiji sighed in relief, subtly wiping his hands on his back as he spoke with a look of lingering fear.
"Hmph, as long as you understand!"
Nene once again raised her folding fan, hiding the slight upward curve of her lips as she spoke with pride.
