Shadow and Inifinity

Chapter 7: The Sky Cracks Apart

The entire world trembled.

Limitless Zero made the impossible possible for Gojo.

For the first time since becoming, the Abyss screamed.

The Abyssal King, Vesper, stumbled back, his figure cracking apart, fissures of gold-strewn energy pouring from his body of once-divine material.

He grasped his chest, his infinite eyes twitching in disbelief.

"Impossible..." Vesper whispered. "No mortal may lay a hand on the abyss."

Gojo wiped the blood from his lips, his Six Eyes aflame with sheer power.

"Guess what?" he smirked. "I just did."

But before he could launch the attack, a change in the air emitted an alarm throughout his whole body.

And the void over their heads split open, letting out something bigger than Vesper.

Something primordial.

A colossal hand of pure abyssal energy formed from the shattered heavens.

Gojo felt his breath hitch.

It was not Vesper.

It was Erebus.

The true shape of the Devourer of Fates was rising.

And the world was running out of time.

Threshold Crossing The Abyss Devours Itself

The first to feel the shift was Solarius, still entangled in battle with Orion.

His six arms tensed.

"No." His voice was grim. "The Abyss is unraveling."

Still embroiled with Nyx in such a war of illusion and counter-illusion, Itachi turned his head just enough, his last Sharingan flaring.

"The thing outside of Vesper is awakening? "

Solarius nodded.

"We must end this now."

And then Erebus' voice echoed through the void.

"You have robbed me of much, Satoru Gojo."

"But you will take no more."

Erebus's hand slamming shut into a fist.

The battlefield imploded.

Gojo, Itachi, and Solarius were drawn into a dimension beyond reality.

The Abyssborn Tyrant

As soon as they came back in, Gojo felt it.

They no longer found themselves in the right place.

There was no up. No down. Lack of direction and gravity.

Just a huge, always-changing horizon, rolling like the surface of a sea, distorted by infinite forces beyond understanding.

Solarius clenched his fists. "Erebus has pulled us into the Abyssal Core."

Then it arrived.

From the formless void came forth a titanic figure; it was the stuff of the very weaves of fate itself.

Joanna Hogg, The Souvenir Parts I and II:

A crown, spun from the falling stars of a thousand worlds.

Eyes endless, spiraling vortexes of time itself.

It was not Erebus.

It was his second-in-command.

It was Aetheron, Tyrant of the Abyssborn.

The First Clash: The Tyrant's Wrath

Aetheron, a godlike force in motion.

With one foot down, the whole battlefield broke apart.

Gojo was the first to respond, his Limitless Zero still active.

He disappeared, only to materialize behind Aetheron, his fist already charging with cursed energy.

"Hollow Purple"

Just before he could allow it to go free, Aetheron warped the fabric of reality around him.

Gojo's attack was reversed.

The very space he stood in imploded, pulling him toward a vortex of destruction.

Itachi moved instantly.

"Amaterasu: Absolute Chains!"

From the black flames leapt forward, curling into chains that snared Aetheron's limbs.

The tyrant barely reacted.

Instead, he just reached out and the Amaterasu flames became solid crystal, shattering to nothingness.

"Your tricks will not work here, Uchiha." Aetheron's voice was a thousand voices all at once, layered on top of one another.

He lifted one hand, and suddenly Itachi could feel his soul being yanked from his body.

Solarius intercepted.

His six arms met Aetheron's, divine energy colliding with abyssal power in a blast that tremored the Core itself.

The Water Divide The Last Stand

Gojo escaped the collapsing vortex and landed next to Itachi.

His six eyes flickered hotter than they had in a long time.

"Okay, that guy's a problem."

Slowly, and yet steadily, Itachi sighed.

"And then we get rid of the problem."

Solarius narrowly escaped a world-rending blow from Aetheron, his divine armor already fracturing.

"No." Solarius's voice had a strained quality.

"We do not fight him. "We sever his tie to Erebus."

Gojo raised an eyebrow. "So how the fuck do we do that? "

Solarius' six eyes gleamed.

"By cutting the tether he has to the Abyss."

In an instant, Itachi understood.

"His crown."

Gojo cracked his knuckles.

"Alright, then. Let's break a god."

Vanquishing the Tyrant

Aetheron rose to full strength.

Whole worlds of darkness solidified behind him like meteorites crashing forward.

Gojo countered first.

Weaving through the attacks, he teleported through the disintegrating space, only to counter with a Hollow Purple incoming with Limitless Zero charged.

The blast impacted Aetheron's torso.

But the tyrant did not die.

Itachi moved in next.

His Susanoo reformed one last time, and the Totsuka Blade ignited with the purest sealing energy.

"Now."

Solarius lunged forward, six weapons glowing with celestial radiance.

The three warriors attacked in unison.

Gojo's fist broke the tyrant's armor.

His form was cut from the Abyss with Itachi's Totsuka Blade.

Solarius' true divine weapons obliterated his crown.

Aetheron's body froze.

And then he screamed.

His body dissolved, his spirit drawn into the ether.

For the first time, Erebus had lost one of his generals.

The Last Showdown

War was an all-encompassing state, one could say, and once the battlefield was beginning to stabilize, Gojo turned to Itachi and Solarius.

"That's one down."

But before they could reorient themselves, the true form of Erebus loomed overhead.

The last battle was about to start.

Coughing, blood spewed from Itachi's lips. "We're running out of time."

Solarius nodded. "Then let us end this war."

Despite the tiring, Gojo smirked.

"Well, you abyssal bastard. "Let's see if you can take me at full power."

The Devourer of Fates has fallen.

And the final war began.

The Abyss Devours the Heavens

The last battle arena had formed.

A great, infinite void in which gravity had folded in on itself, where time had wound and warped into paradoxes..

His interlocutor had taken form in full a titanic being from across the cosmos, flesh of raw, primordial void, countless ever-changing arms wielding weapons vivisected from the remnants of corporeal worlds.

The atmosphere screamed at his presence.

The universe was pushing him away.

Before him stood Gojo Satoru Limitless Zero still active, Six Eyes deciphering every minute detail of the battlefield.

"We've come too far to lose now.

Next to him, Itachi Uchiha could hardly stay standing. His Mangekyō Sharingan glimmered, running blood from his eye. He had gone farther than his body wanted to go.

And Solarius, the final of the Eternal Watchers, had suffered injuries beyond mortal understanding. His heavenly armor was broken; his divine weapon was full of unstable energy.

They were running out of time.

And Erebus knew it.

"Fools." The voice of the Devourer echoed through the abyss itself.

"You resist the inevitable."

"This reality has already been undone."

Then he raised his hand.

And the sky shattered.

Approach Electron or the Unmaking of Reality

Erebus released his power with one swipe.

The battlefield collapsed.

The laws of existence stopped working.

The sky bent inward.

The ground no longer existed.

Gojo, Itachi, and Solarius experienced the erasure of their very identities.

Itachi reacted first.

"No!" His voice was razor, his Mangekyō afire.

His Susanoo opened its spectral wings wide as he drove his own blade into the collapsing void.

The world steadied for a moment.

But Erebus merely laughed.

"You cannot resist destiny, Uchiha.

Then he moved.

Faster than light, faster than thought.

Before Gojo had a chance to respond, Erebus attacked.

A single palm to the chest.

An explosion of abyssal ruin radiated outward.

Gojo's body collided across planes of existence, spiraling into an infinite storm of non-being.)

For the first time in his life, Gojo Satoru let out a scream.

New Boss, Who This? The Shadow Legion has arrived.

Erebus looked over at Itachi and Solarius.

"Did you think I came alone?"

They formed from the depths of the void.

A thousand figures humanoid, yes, but broken, their bodies twisted into grotesque shapes.

These were what had once been warriors all fallen, all devoured by Erebus through infinite timelines.

And leading them three new nightmares.

Aegis, the Null Knight A massive warrior in obsidian armor who wields a blade capable of cleaving fate.

Selene, the Phantom Weaver A creature of unadulterated shadow, her very presence distorting light and perception.

Zariel, the Hollow Priest A warped figure toiling for his lord, what he speaks undulates into an unwritten copulation with the sacred text.

Solarius gripped his weapons tighter.

"This is it." His voice was steady. "The final war."

Itachi nodded, blood dripping down his face.

"Then we fight."

The First Battle Solarius vs. the Null Knight

Aegis moved first.

He charged forward, his giant blade slicing through the void itself.

Solarius raised his twin shields, but the force sent ripples through his body.

"You will not win this battle, Eternal Watcher." Aegis' voice was a supernova chorus of dying star.

Solarius retaliated faster his six uppers battering in from three different directions, making Aegis Wolke block across a full 180 degrees.

The two disappeared into the void, their clash cleaving the battlefield in two.

The Second Clash Itachi vs. the Phantom Weaver

Selene smiled if that creature could.

She drifted away into the shadows, disappearing completely.

Itachi's Sharingan dashed, trying to keep up.

Then the attack came.

A thousand phantasmic blades exploded from the gloom, cutting towards him.

A twist in the air allowed him to barely evade the blow, his Susanoo erecting a shield.

Uchiha, you cannot fight that which you cannot see.

Itachi exhaled.

Then he closed his eyes.

"Who said I need to see?"

This time the Mangekyō flared again.

"Tsukuyomi: Eternal Eclipse."

Selene froze.

A moment later, she screamed.

The battlefield shifted.

And Itachi took control.

The Final Clash You Return

Gojo floated deep down in the abyss.

His body was breaking apart.

His brain was about to break.

But his spirit never wavered.

"You think I die that easy? "

His six eyes had a flicker; they tried to see anything in this nonexistence.

Then he felt it.

Just one fleck of cursed energy.

Gojo reached for it.

He grasped it.

And dragged himself back to reality.

The battlefront shuddered violently.

Erebus turned sharply.

"Impossible."

The Gojo reappeared.

His energy exploded like a supernova.

His body was not merely repaired.

He had evolved.

"Sorry about the wait." Gojo's smile turned amused as he cracked his knuckles.

"Now let's finish this."

To contain the World Destruction, Gojo needs to defeat Erebus.

Erebus had gone full power.

Reality internally collapses in on itself.

But this time Gojo didn't pull back.

He charged forward, his Limitless Zero transforming into something grander.

Last Style Endless Collapse.

A single strike.

A single moment.

And the fate of the world was determined.

Cliffhanger Was it really the end or a new beginning?

The battle was won, but at great cost, as Itachi lay collapsed.

Solarius stood on shaky legs, his divine arms broken.

But Gojo?

He fought Erebus with the flames of power in his eyes.

"You're done."

So the last attack was released.

And the Abyss howled one last time.
