Return Ten Thousand Times, I Became a Dog Licker in My Final Days

Chapter 13:

Chapter 13: Jin Liuxiang’s Speculation:

The disciples in the accommodation area couldn’t stop talking about Jin Liuxiang. Many criticized her, accusing her of shamelessly trying to seduce Elder Xu for more benefits. However, they also praised Elder Xu for his uprightness and refusal to fall into such traps.

Through these discussions, one thing became clear: obtaining an opportunity from Elder Xu was far more complicated than it seemed. A longer-term approach would be necessary.

In the female cultivators’ accommodation area, Jin Liuxiang sat in her fragrant, exquisitely decorated room, holding the ten Foundation Establishment Pills Elder Xu had given her. She stared at them, a dissatisfied frown forming on her beautiful face.

“Hmph,” she muttered. “Lin Yan’er stayed at Elder Xu’s villa for half a day and walked away with three Low Grade Law Weapons. Meanwhile, I spent the same amount of time and only received ten Foundation Establishment Pills. Something doesn’t add up.”

Her sharp eyes gleamed as she began piecing together the puzzle. “Massage the shoulders… Lin Yan’er must have figured out what Elder Xu wanted and fully devoted herself to pleasing him during her stay.”

Jin Liuxiang’s delicate fingers drummed against the edge of her desk as she mulled it over. Elder Xu’s generosity seemed inexplicable at first, but now she had her suspicions. Lin Yan’er must have gone above and beyond to satisfy Elder Xu’s needs.

Though Jin Liuxiang had her doubts about what exactly transpired, one thing was clear: if Lin Yan’er could do it, so could she.

She examined herself in the mirror, her bright eyes filled with determination. “In terms of appearance, I’m not inferior to Lin Yan’er. My cultivation level is even higher than hers. If she can earn Elder Xu’s favor, why can’t I?”

Her thoughts turned to her own journey. She had managed to become a disciple of Zhou Xiao, a deacon in the law enforcement team, not because of her cultivation skills alone but through her calculated charm. Though Zhou Xiao had taken a liking to her, she had cleverly kept him at a distance, preserving her value.

But Elder Xu was different. A senior figure with immense resources, wisdom, and influence—if she could win his favor, her future would be secured. “Elder Xu has no heirs or disciples. If I serve him well in his later years, perhaps his legacy could become mine.”

Her mind filled with ambition, Jin Liuxiang’s gaze hardened. Skin-deep beauty was a small price to pay for the real benefits she sought: cultivation resources, Law Weapons, and a promising future.

That night, she decided she would make her move.

Meanwhile, Xu Xiao sat cross-legged on his futon, cultivating. His rapid progression was remarkable—he had already reached the Fifth Layer of Foundation Establishment. Though his pace had slowed compared to the initial surge, it was still leagues ahead of most cultivators.

After completing another cycle of the Misty Immortality Technique, Xu Xiao exhaled deeply, feeling refreshed. “At this rate, I’ll return to my peak condition in no time.”

With the Blazing Flame Sword and other treasures in his space library, he was confident in his ability to fend off even Nascent Soul cultivators if necessary. His power was steadily climbing, and the future looked promising.

Just as he prepared to relax, several soft voices called from outside his courtyard.

“Disciple greets Elder Xu…”

Frowning slightly, Xu Xiao rose and opened the door to find five or six female outer disciples standing outside, all wearing light blue robes. Their expressions ranged from nervousness to hope.

“What’s the matter?” he asked, his tone neutral.

The system remained silent, indicating none of these women were Daughters of Luck. They were merely ordinary disciples.

One of the braver women stepped forward, swallowing nervously before kneeling. “Elder Xu… You must find it inconvenient to live here alone. I would like to serve you… I can prepare tea, cook meals, or do anything else you need. Please allow me to assist you.”

Another disciple, a large-faced woman, quickly followed suit, kneeling as well. “Me too, Elder Xu! Let me serve as your maid! I will do my best to take care of you!”

The remaining disciples hastily dropped to their knees, each vying for his attention. Some even offered to do anything he desired, their desperation palpable.

Xu Xiao remained silent, his gaze sweeping over the group. He could see through their intentions instantly. These women, emboldened by the rumors surrounding Lin Yan’er and Jin Liuxiang, had come to try their luck, hoping to gain his favor and secure resources.

His lips twitched as he suppressed a sigh. Among them were plain and big-faced women, with only one or two possessing passable looks. But none were Daughters of Luck, and none stirred any genuine interest from him.

“Fools,” he thought. “Do they think I’m so easily swayed by such shallow attempts?”

Though flattered by their offers, Xu Xiao was a respected elder of the inner sect. Accepting disciples as personal maids would tarnish his reputation and invite unnecessary trouble.

Finally, he shook his head and said firmly, “I appreciate your offers, but there’s no need for such arrangements. Return to your cultivation.”

The women looked crestfallen but knew better than to argue. One by one, they reluctantly left the courtyard, their hopes dashed.

Xu Xiao watched them go, chuckling softly to himself. “What a spectacle…”

Returning to his rocking chair, he poured himself a cup of tea, savoring the calm. Unlike these opportunistic disciples, he had his sights set on far more rewarding connections.
