Chapter 11: chapter 10
The classroom was a mess of early-morning lethargy—a mix of groggy faces and half-hearted greetings. The teacher cleared her throat and said,
Teacher: "So class, this HMG…"
(Her tone trailed off as if she couldn't decide whether to be excited or annoyed by the subject.)
Without missing a beat, a voice cut through the murmur:
Daniel Park: "My name is Daniel Park, and I'm new here."
Almost immediately, McKai jumped in with his trademark nonchalance:
McKai: "Me too—I'm new here, just here to take care of me."
Before the silence could settle, Jiho Park leaned forward, eager to share his piece of the story:
Jiho Park: "Uhh, I know this guy! He's the guy who was fighting Logan Lee—the one who saved me last night. Hey, man!"
Kai offered a quick, friendly nod.
Kai: "Yes, hey."
(Thinking: Oh, Jiho Park—I love this guy. I'm gonna make sure you become a part of my gang. They shouldn't have killed you; honestly, you'd have been a beast. I'll make damn sure it doesn't happen again.)
Author's Note:
While the school day limped along in its usual boring routine, chaos wasn't far behind. The latest scuffle had left Zack Lee with a beating at the hands of Daniel Park. And, surprisingly, Zack Lee even looked a little scared of Kai—an outcome that, in its own twisted way, made the day all the more interesting.
(Kai's inner monologue continued as the day unfolded.)
"Ahaha, today was dull—until the fight broke out. The only spark in this endless routine. I've got to recruit Vin Jin into my Heavenly Dragon Gang. I'll use what ignited him the most—his 'sister killer' rep. Since I reincarnated into the PTJ Universe, I know all the ins and outs. And maybe, just maybe, I can even rizz up that girl… what's her name again? Mary something… Ugh, forgetting the crucial details is starting to erode my edge. But who cares?"
Later in the hallway, as the morning grind continued:
Jiho: "Hey, man!"
Kai: "What's good?"
Jiho Park: "I told you—I know him! He's my best friend."
(Kai's thoughts: Uhh, there he goes again, always chasing after the big dog vibe. I really dig his ego, but damn, it's endearing too. This is too fun.)
Kai then clapped his hands as if recalling an old promise.
Kai: "Yep, I've known him since I was a kid. Alright, bye guys—I gotta talk to someone. Yo, Zack Lee, wait up!"
Zack shuffled over, looking caught off guard:
Zack: "Uhh, w-what do you want?"
Kai: "I just want to talk . you joining my gang—the Heavenly Dragon. You're in."
Zack: "What if I say no?"
Kai (smirking): "Then I'll beat the shit out of you in front of Mia."
Zack: "Okay, okay, I'm in.
Kai: Now, time to find Vin Jin—he's not too hard to spot; he's always rockin' those sunglasses."
(Kai's mind raced with plans.)
"Alright, I'll leave the Jiho drama for another day. Hehe—I plan to make you the breakout star of this series, and fast."
BHmh.
