After capturing the gold rated Meowth, Sato was just about to leave when his Golbat suddenly let out a sharp cry. Understanding the warning, he quickly led his Pokémon out of the alley.
However, Sato was a step too slow. As he approached the alley's exit, a Persian agilely leaped over his head and blocked his way.
Soon after, a large number of Meowth appeared, swiftly sealing off the entire alley. They surrounded Sato and his Pokémon, glaring at them menacingly.
"Stand aside, Persian. You and your underlings can't stop me. I don't want to hurt you, but if you stand in my way, I won't hesitate."
Seeing the Persian and its group appear so quickly and boldly block his path, Sato was surprised. His expression hardened as he coldly addressed the Persian.
At that moment, both Sato and his Swampert emitted an overwhelming aura, their energies merging perfectly to multiply the intimidation.
The Persian and the Meowth, feeling the oppressive atmosphere, froze in their movements. Some Meowth even backed away hesitantly.
Taking advantage of the hesitation, Sato released his Bellossom, Shiny Beautifly, and Growlithe. With the appearance of these powerful Pokémon, the battlefield's dynamic shifted instantly.
The intruders' goal was clear: to reclaim the golden Meowth Sato had just captured. But Sato had no intention of giving it up. The Persian and its gang were formidable, but Sato was confident he could handle them with ease.
The sheer pressure from Swampert's aura alone made many of the Meowth tremble. Their instincts told them that Sato's Pokémon were not to be trifled with.
Unfortunately for them, the Persian thought differently. Despite the golden Meowth's sly behavior and ambition to usurp it, Persian still regarded it as a companion.
As the leader, Persian felt it couldn't abandon a comrade, no matter how strong the enemy.
"Meowth!"
The Persian roared, giving the order to attack. Though reluctant, the loyal Meowth obeyed, claws bared as they charged at Sato and his team.
"Swampert, block the Persian! Golbat, use Triple Gust! Bellossom, scatter Sleep Powder. Beautifly and Growlithe, protect me."
Sato sighed as he saw the Persian attack but resolved not to deal lethal blows, knowing they were merely protecting their own. He issued his commands immediately.
Swampert immediately charged at the Persian, while Golbat's eyes gleamed as it conjured three counter-rotating white whirlwinds, forming a protective triangle around Sato.
Bellossom skillfully scattered green Sleep Powder into the whirlwinds, dyeing them green and enhancing their effect.
Beautifly and Growlithe flanked Sato, fending off any Meowth that managed to breach the Triple Gust.
The Persian, at Level 37, was a strong wild Pokémon. Against the average Level 20 Meowth, it was unbeatable. But against Sato's Level 41 Swampert, it stood no chance.
Persian's claws, sharp and proud, barely scratched Swampert, while Swampert's punches felt like they could shatter Persian's entire body.
Realizing it was severely outmatched, Persian repeatedly tried to bypass Swampert to attack Sato, but Swampert was unyielding, blocking every attempt.
The alley's narrow confines further disadvantaged Persian, preventing it from leveraging its speed. Swampert's chilling aura repeatedly struck Persian, causing its movements to stiffen as cold seeped into its body.
When Persian's speed slowed enough for Swampert to catch up, the outcome was clear.
Finally, Swampert, holding back its strength, used a Ice Punch at a third of its power, smashing Persian into the alley wall. The move's secondary effect activated, encasing Persian in a layer of ice.
Meanwhile, most of the Meowth were trapped outside the Triple Gust. Those caught in the green whirlwinds fell asleep upon inhaling the Sleep Powder.
The few Meowth that bypassed the barrier were swiftly defeated by Bellossom, Beautifly, and Growlithe.
In no time, the alley was littered with defeated Meowth, either asleep or incapacitated. When their leader, Persian, was knocked out, the remaining Meowth hesitated.
Despite their fear, the Meowth didn't flee. Instead, they gathered protectively around Persian, shielding it with their bodies.
"So loyal," Sato remarked, touched by their dedication. "Don't worry. As long as you don't attack, I won't harm you any further. Wake up your friends and take them home. And tell your leader not to worry—I'll take good care of Meowth."
Sato placed several healing potions on the ground and explained how to use them before leaving the alley with his team.
Still, he didn't go far. Standing at the alley's entrance, he kept watch and had Golbat monitor the Meowth's actions.
Only after Golbat confirmed that Persian had recovered and left with its gang did Sato finally walk away.
"Sometimes Pokémon are more loyal than humans," Sato mused, looking at the Great Ball containing the golden Meowth. Though a sense of guilt tugged at him, he tightened his resolve.
Life was never easy. Perhaps it was selfish, but Sato knew he needed the strength of this exceptional Normal-type Pokemon.
As the sunlight cast his long shadow down the empty alley, Sato tucked the ball away and left, his heavy heart reflected in his retreating figure.
