After leaving the Battle Dome, Sato took a taxi to a nearby five-star hotel.
With nearly 50 million PokeDollars newly secured in winnings, Sato decided to spend the next three days in Saffron City soaking up its bustling energy.
After all, it might be a long time before he'd have the chance to visit again.
The five-star Saffron Grand Hotel, located in the heart of the city, was as majestic and luxurious as one might imagine. If he hadn't known it was a hotel, Sato might have mistaken it for a massive museum.
The property spanned an area as large as a football field.
In Saffron City's bright nightscape, the hotel stood out as the most dazzling star.
Those who could afford to stay at such a grand establishment were undoubtedly wealthy or influential. Even at this late hour, many successful-looking individuals in formal attire strode in and out, often with elegantly dressed companions by their sides.
Sato, dressed in his red-and-blue elite trainer uniform, looking like a 15-16 year old boy, was an unusual sight among the crowd.
Yet, his extraordinary presence made him stand out rather than seem out of place.
Even amidst this opulence, no one dared to bother him. The hostesses stationed at the entrance, clearly adept at their jobs, greeted him warmly. One of them led him inside and helped him check in.
Sato spent 100,000 PokeDollars to secure a single room for three nights. Though pricey, the moment he stepped into his room, he realized it was worth every PokeDollar.
The room was spacious—at least 200 square meters—and tastefully decorated, exuding elegance and style.
This was a room designed specifically for trainers. In addition to the standard living room, bedroom, and bathroom, there was a training area that occupied nearly half the room's space, equipped with all the essential training facilities.
After a hearty late-night meal with his Pokémon, Sato fell into a deep sleep. It wasn't until nearly 2 PM the next day that he finally woke up.
Lying in bed, Sato contemplated his plans for the day: intense Pokémon training and preparing Pokémon food.
After enjoying a lavish lunch, he began a long-overdue training session with his Pokémon. Since leaving LaRousse City in haste, it had been a while since his Pokémon had undergone their routine stamina and skill training.
The first session was three hours of stamina training. As usual, all the Pokémon donned weighted vests to enhance the workout's effectiveness.
The training facilities were indeed top-notch. There was even an indoor flight path for flying-type Pokémon.
This path, a circular glass tunnel attached to the ceiling, was three meters in diameter—spacious enough for large flying Pokémon to maneuver. The tunnel's winding and complex design, full of sharp turns, stretched over 500-600 meters.
Navigating it without hitting the sturdy, specialized glass walls required exceptional flying skills.
Golbat, Shiny Pelipper, and Shiny Beautifly were currently flying through the tunnel. To ensure a fair training session, Sato had temporarily removed the Supreme Sky Splitting Stone from Shiny Beautifly's body to prevent any advantage.
Initially, the three Pokémon maintained a cooperative demeanor. However, after a few laps, things turned competitive, evolving into a fierce flying race.
Interestingly, Shiny Pelipper, whose speed stat was the lowest, was leading. Its extensive experience in the wild, evading predators and rivals, had honed its flying techniques to perfection.
In such a challenging environment, Shiny Pelipper's steady and efficient flight gave it a clear advantage over Golbat and Shiny Beautifly.
Beautifly, on the other hand, struggled due to its relatively short time training and its inexperience. Its prideful nature prevented it from slowing down, resulting in frequent collisions with the glass walls.
However, as a prodigy among bug-types, Shiny Beautifly quickly adapted. After mimicking Golbat and Pelipper's techniques for about ten laps, it began to refine its own flying style.
Initially, Shiny Beautifly's flight was elegant but inefficient compared to Golbat and Shiny Pelipper. Over time, it discarded unnecessary flourishes, becoming more agile and effective.
After dozens of laps, Shiny Beautifly was no longer lagging behind. It tailed Golbat closely, constantly attempting to overtake it.
Golbat, proud and unwilling to concede, acted as a formidable barrier. As Sato's earliest companion, it refused to be overshadowed by newer teammates.
Despite being surpassed in power by Swampert, it resolved to maintain its relevance within the team.
Shiny Beautifly, like Swampert before, was an exceptional new addition, thriving under Sato's guidance. Its rapid progress made it clear it would surpass Golbat in the future.
Golbat harbored some jealousy toward these rising stars, but instead of resenting Sato, it channeled that energy into harder training. It was determined to keep pace with its trainer and avoid being left behind.
Sato recognized and appreciated Golbat's dedication, often giving it extra training sessions at night. Its reconnaissance skills also made it an invaluable member of the team, frequently participating in battles and missions.
Recently, Golbat began sensing peculiar changes within its body. It had a strong feeling that once these changes were complete, its power would surge, giving it a chance to reclaim its position as the strongest member of the team.
Until then, Golbat was determined not to become a burden. Even if it was no longer the strongest, it refused to be the weakest.
