The Pokémon Item Specialty Zone gathered shops from major guilds worldwide.

These guilds were often tied to various powerful organizations, and even though Team Rocket now controlled Saffron City's underground black market, they dared not target these stores.

The shops established by these major guilds boasted a dazzling variety of items. One could confidently say that as long as the item existed in the Pokémon world and your wallet was deep enough, you could buy it here.

Sato's visit to this place was for a specific purpose: to gather ingredients to prepare food for his Swampert and Shiny Pelipper.

Pokémon food primarily consisted of edible crops cultivated by humans, combined with powdered berries.

The main crops used in Pokémon food were wheat and rice, with wheat being the most commonly used. Its purpose was to alleviate Pokémon hunger.

Berry powders, on the other hand, acted as supplementary ingredients. The Pokémon world had a vast array of berries, each attributed to specific Pokémon types.

However, the specific attributes of these berries were closely guarded knowledge, typically known only to top-tier Pokémon breeders, researchers, and experienced berry farmers.

Ordinary people could only acquire this knowledge through dedicated study.

Pokémon food had become a massive money-making industry controlled by the Pokémon League and elite breeders. Any attempt to disrupt this industry would face severe consequences from these stakeholders behind the scenes.

To create food tailored to a specific Pokémon type, one had to know the berry's attributes, as Pokémon could only consume food corresponding to their type. Feeding them incorrectly could lead to indigestion, illness, or even poisoning.

For example, a Fire-type Pokémon eating Water-type food would likely fall ill due to the opposing nature of the ingredients.

Sato, however, lacked extensive knowledge of the names or attributes of the myriad berries in the Pokémon world. He only remembered a few common ones and their effects.

Thankfully, through books and inherited knowledge, he knew some Pokémon food recipes and deduced a few berry attributes.

Sato was most familiar with Water-type berries, including Oran Berries, Sitrus Berries, Neppa Berries, and Pecha Berries, which were commonly used in Water-type Pokémon food.

According to the Lilycove Compendium he acquired from Elsa, the ingredients for Swampert's food included:

High-quality wheat flour

Beef powder

Stardust

Shoal Salt

Deep Sea Scale powder

Pecha Berry powder

Leppa Berry powder

Sitrus Berry powder

Pamtre Berry powder

Watmel Berry powder

Durin Berry Powder

Belue Berry powder

For Shiny Pelipper's food, the ingredients were:

Premium wheat flour

Codfish powder

Shoal Salt

Deep Sea Scale powder

Flying-type beak powder

Nanab Berry powder

Pecha Berry powder

Bluk Berry powder

Sitrus Berry powder

Neppa Berry powder

Razz Berry powder

-----------------------

Swampert, being a dual Water- and Ground-type Pokémon, had Water as its primary type, so its food mainly required Water-type ingredients, supplemented with Ground-type components.

Similarly, Shiny Pelipper, a Water- and Flying-type Pokémon, needed a diet dominated by Water-type ingredients, with Flying-type elements as a complement.

Among the required ingredients, wheat flour, regular meat powders, and berry powders were easy to find. However, rarer items like Stardust, Shoal Salt, and Deep Sea Scales were more challenging.

The Deep Sea Scale, in particular, was exceptionally rare. Rich in pure Water-type energy, it was a top-tier ingredient found only in the deep seas of Hoenn and required expert divers to retrieve.

As a result, its annual supply was limited, and its price reflected this scarcity.

A single Deep Sea Scale cost around 1,000,000 PokeDollars on the black market and could go even higher when supply was low.

Fortunately, the Lilycove Compendium specified that only a small amount of Deep Sea Scale powder was required to make Swampert's food.

A single scale could produce 50 servings of standard Water-type Pokémon food. Otherwise, sustaining Swampert's voracious appetite would bankrupt Sato.

After deducting his expenses in the Free Trade Zone, Sato had over 37 million PokeDollars left, which he estimated was enough to prepare ample food for his Pokémon, especially since Swampert's diet was the most costly.

Swampert's immense strength required significant energy, and Sato was committed to providing it, even at great expense.

Sato began with the easier ingredients, purchasing high-quality wheat flour, beef powder, and codfish powder. The flour and beef powder were relatively affordable, though the codfish powder was pricier.

Spending 500,000 PokeDollars, he bought 10 tons of wheat flour, 5 tons of beef powder, and 5 tons of codfish powder, storing them in a specialized spatial device.

Next, Sato went to a renowned Hoenn berry store to purchase the required berries. Hoenn's tropical climate was ideal for berry growth, and Sato quickly collected what he needed.

However, these berries were more expensive than regular ones.

For instance, a single Oran Berry cost about 100 PokeDollars, while the berries he purchased cost five to six times that. Thankfully, his bulk purchase of 1,000 units of each berry earned him a 20% discount, bringing the total to 4,000,000 PokeDollars.

The store even gifted him a specialized berry bag with ample compartments for easy organization.

Finally, it was time to acquire the rare items: Stardust, Shoal Salt, and Flying-type beak powder.

Sato managed to find these after visiting several stores, but he couldn't locate the most critical ingredient—Deep Sea Scales.

Every shop he visited claimed they were out of stock, with any available scales already reserved.
