Chapter 90: Chapter 90: After Raising a Child and Getting Rich in That Era, the Delicate Beauty Was Spoiled Rotten 10
On this not-so-large piece of paper, with just a few brief strokes, a grand worldview was sketched out, vividly portraying the stories on this vast land.
Qin Lianqi held the paper in his hands and looked at it carefully; it was written in pencil, and although it was only a small part, it was enough to see the author’s meticulous thoughts and flair for writing.
Such a work was naturally not something that a little kid like Su Zhishu could write.
After pondering for a moment, Qin Lianqi called over Su Zhishu, who was reading below the podium, “Su Zhishu, come here.”
“Ah? Me?” Su Zhishu stood up, hurried to Qin Lianqi’s front, and asked, “What’s wrong, Teacher Qin?”
“I found this in your homework book,” Qin Lianqi lifted the sheet of paper. The other kids wanted to rush forward to see what was written but, with just a calm look from the young man, they obediently sat back down. Qin Lianqi continued to ask, “Is this… your sister’s?”
Zhishu looked closely and thought hard, then slapped his forehead as if he had an epiphany, “It is my sister’s. A few days ago, I was doing my homework at the desk and accidentally took my sister’s draft.”
His eyes were bright as he looked at Qin Lianqi, “Can Teacher Qin give it back to me? I don’t know if my sister is anxious to have it.”
“Your sister…” Qin Lianqi had no intention of returning it just yet—he almost instantly recalled the day they first met, when the girl was carrying a basket, her smile bright and cheerful. After a moment of silence, he told Zhishu, “Go back to your studies.”
Zhishu didn’t understand why it wasn’t returned, but since the teacher had said so, he could only leave the podium and continue reading.

By the time school ended, Su Zhiruan appeared on time at the school gate, waiting to take her brother and sister home.
Today, she brought some items to the clothing factory, paid the deposit, provided the design drawings, and signed a contract, just waiting for the goods to be ready.
The clothing factory originally produced some ordinary, durable clothes; they did not have many explosive orders, and their sales were only moderate. Su Zhiruan brought in her design drawings and worked hard to lower the factory price. The clothing factory was also willing to try and see if they could expand their sales. After a whole day of negotiation, the two parties reached an agreement and signed a contract.
She waited for a while and then saw her brother and sister coming from around the corner in the distance.
The two children were very happy to see Su Zhiruan as well, but she could tell that they seemed somewhat restrained today.
Soon, the truth came out: following behind them was Qin Lianqi.
Even from a distance, Qin Lianqi could spot Su Zhiruan instantly.
She was even more beautiful today; even her ordinary braids looked voluminous, she wore a light-colored sweater, and she was carrying two bags in her hands.
Upon seeing her, the two children couldn’t contain themselves and picked up their pace to run towards her, shouting loudly, “Big sister—”
Su Zhiruan reached out her hands to catch the two kids, “Slow down, what if you fall?”
At this moment, the tall Qin Lianqi also approached them.
Su Zhiruan stood up, handed each of the kids a paper bag, which both contained large meat buns.
Seeing that Su Zhishu and Su Zhiying actually had such a beautiful sister, and even the usually reserved Teacher Qin approached her, the other children began to feel envious.
The moment the two children took meat buns out of the bags to eat, almost all the other kids swallowed hard.
This delicacy was such that, even in ordinary households at that time, it could only be consumed once a month.
However, during this period, every day the children could see the stunningly beautiful elder sister of Su Zhishu and Su Zhiying, waiting for them with meat buns, which filled all the children with envy.
“Teacher Qin, hello.” Su Zhiruan called the two children to eat the meat buns on the other side and stood up, smiling as she looked toward Qin Lianqi.
This was only the second time she had seen this ‘Child of the Facet’.
Although the system had not disclosed Qin Lianqi’s exact identity, she could guess from his demeanor that this ‘Child of the Facet’ must be wealthy or noble; as for coming to the countryside to teach, it might have been a whim of his, or perhaps something else.
“Su Zhiruan,” Qin Lianqi suddenly looked at her, then called out her name. Seeing the puzzled expression on her face, he unexpectedly curved the corners of his lips, “I came here for you this time.”
“For me?” Surprise spread across Su Zhiruan’s face. “Teacher Qin is looking for me…”
Qin Lianqi took out a neatly folded piece of paper and, before handing it to her, began with an apology, “I’m sorry, I unintentionally saw your manuscript.”
Su Zhiruan received the paper from his hands and only then did she realize that her article had somehow ended up with him.
“I couldn’t find this copy a few days ago, thought it had been blown away by the wind; I never expected it to be with Teacher Qin.” She looked at the content on the paper, which she had written late at night before designing clothes.
“You write very well, whether it’s the content or the prose; it meets the standard for publication and even exceeds it.”
After Qin Lianqi finished speaking, Su Zhiruan herself was shocked for a moment, not expecting to receive such high praise from him.
“Thank you, Teacher Qin. That’s exactly my thought. My family is too poor, and we need money to improve our lives. I have written many articles and sent them all out. I was just about to keep writing this one when I realized it was lost and didn’t bother looking for it anymore,” Su Zhiruan said earnestly. She stretched out her arms with a smiling face, a lively youthful charm appearing on her countenance.
Qin Lianqi took the draft back from her and looked at it again, thinking that he hadn’t yet explained how he came by it. He leaned against the wall, folded the draft neatly, and spoke in a relaxed manner, “I found it in Zhishu’s homework book this afternoon while grading assignments. He said it might have been brought out accidentally—Are you planning to continue writing this piece?”
Su Zhiruan wasn’t entirely sure.
She had spent the last few nights furiously outlining twenty stories and subsequently drafting twenty or thirty articles, which she had sent out in all directions, distinguishing between different clubs, publishing houses, and newspapers based on the content.
Regarding this particular piece that she had suddenly lost, she was quick to consider giving up on it.
But now, seeing the expectation in Qin Lianqi’s eyes, her words caught in her throat, and she took a turn, “I plan to keep writing.”
That statement might be useful.
She noticed Qin Lianqi’s expression relaxed a bit.
Although she didn’t know why he cared about a draft, getting closer to the ‘Child of the Facet’ was one of her goals, and she quickly brought up a new topic, “Does Teacher Qin have any suggestions for this manuscript?”
Qin Lianqi slowly shook his head, his lowered eyelashes fluttering twice, refracting soft light in the gentle sunshine.
“No suggestions,” Qin Lianqi handed her the folded paper, “If you’re willing, could you submit it to me?”
Su Zhiruan: “???”
