No! I don't want to be a Super Necromancer!

Chapter 20: Gan Brooks

However, his mouth was truly too big…

"Buy all? Hahaha! Don't make me laugh! How could a pathetic weakling like this E Ranked bastard be able to afford anything, much less all of the goods sold in this place?" Vivienne Lisky laughed scornfully and then pointed to the pair of daggers.

"Look at that pair of daggers. Do you even know that it is powerful beyond belief? Let me tell you, they are able to unleash Ice Energy upon contact! Such powerful weapons are worth at least ten thousand dollars. Tell me, do you even have five thousand dollars on you?"

Damien Bloodbane blinked in confusion. Ten thousand dollars? But Sheila Shadowbane quoted him five thousand earlier… Did he just get the legendary 50% off? Buy one get one promo?

"Young man. Being E Ranked is not the end of the world. Work hard, don't give up, and you will still be able to contribute to the war in some small way." Gan Brooks said with a sagely tone that somehow irritated Damien Bloodbane more than the outright insults of the two girls.

"Brother Gan is just too kind." Hilda Redcloud sighed. "But your kindness is wasted on trash like him. He might as well be an unawakened commoner."

"Yes, Brother Gan, let us ignore him. I heard that you are an expert with daggers. What do you think of these two daggers? I told you that this Secret Forger is amazing right? Hehehe." Viviene Lisky deftly took the two daggers and passed it to Gan Brooks for inspection.

"Indeed, Sister Vivienne is truly correct. These daggers are heaven defying. I have never seen such exquisitely made daggers outside of my family's A Grade Armory!" Gan Brooks' eyes lit up as he spun the two daggers around.

"Sorry, but my boss had already made a deal with the shopkeeper for those daggers. It is sold." Fatty reached out his hand to grab the two daggers back from Gan Brooks.

But Gan Brooks easily evaded his pudgy hands.

"Made a deal? How could it be so? The daggers were still on the table when we arrived. The deal couldn't have been closed, am I right, Secret Forger?" Gan Brooks was no fool, and he instantly deduced the real situation. He even went ahead to ask Sheila Shadowbane about it!

Sheila Shadowbane remained silent for a brief moment before nodding once to indicate that Gan Brooks was right.

"See? In that case, the daggers are still available for me to purchase!" Gan Brooks said with a triumphant smile.

Fatty's face turned incomparably gloomy at that moment.

He had just plucked out one of his fangs to pay for those two daggers! If he failed to acquire them for his boss after doing such an exquisitely painful sacrifice, he would probably be traumatized! He would never go shopping ever again!

Gan Brooks, on the other hand, was exceedingly pleased.

By his estimate, the two daggers were definitely not worth just 10,000 dollars as Vivienne Lisky had said. Instead, they would be at least 35,000 dollars if they were purchased outside!

"I am willing to pay 15,000 dollars for this pair of daggers. Secret Forger, how about it? Sell this to me." Gan Brooks said to Sheila Shadowbane with his charming and confident smile plastered on his face.

"I'll pay twenty thousand." Damien Bloodbane said lazily.

"What?! There is no way that you have twenty thousand dollars on you! Stop messing around, you stupid fuc- Errrr, stupid idiot!" Hilda Redcloud exploded angrily.

"Who gives a flying fuck what you think? If my boss dares to make a bid for it, paying it upon winning would be his problem with the seller. The only question you need to answer is, do you have the money and the guts to raise the bid? Or are you too freaking poor to afford this dagger?" Fatty immediately retorted back loudly.

"Twenty thousand for this pair of daggers is still cheap. I am willing to pay twenty five thousand." Gan Brooks said calmly. His smile was still there, but it had dimmed considerably.

He had thought that he would be able to get two wonderful daggers for a steal at fifteen thousand. But now he had to pay twenty five thousand for it. Even though it was still cheap, it was still ten thousand more than before!

Damn it!

"Twenty seven thousand five hundred." Damien Bloodbane said in his lazy voice. "Pack it up please, Miss Secret Forger."

"Thirty thousand." Gan Brooks said reluctantly as his smile evaporated completely, replaced by a small frown.

Thirty thousand was his limit. It was still slightly below market price, but not by much. Any higher, he might as well buy it in a proper shop with guarantees and everything.

Damien Bloodbane remained silent and merely looked at Sheila Shadowbane with an amused look on his face. That rich punk may be strong, but god damn was he stupid.

Which idiot would negotiate with his emotions expressed so openly on his face? Even a three year old would know that thirty thousand was his maximum just based on the frown on his face!

That rich punk was offering 6 times the price Sheila Shadowbane was willing to sell the dagger to him for. She would be a fool to reject it.

And as it were, she was no fool.

She quietly handed Gan Brooks a small barcode.

Smiling in relief, Gan Brooks made the transfer, and quickly sheathed the daggers and kept them.

He then turned to look at Damien Bloodbane and the fatty smugly.

"Gents, I am afraid I will be the one going home with these beauties. Hehehe. Good day to you."

And with that, he turned around to leave.

"Boss, did he really think he got himself a good deal? Is he that retarded?" Fatty whispered loudly to Damien Bloodbane.

"Hush, Fatty. He can still hear you." Damien Bloodbane reprimanded his follower loudly. "We do not want him to realize that we only have three thousand dollars on us. Let him leave first before we gloat!"

"Ah! You're right boss! It would be bad if he realized that he had paid TWICE as much as he would have if we were not around! HAHAHA!" Fatty roared loudly with laughter!

Gan Brooks nearly stumbled when he heard those words.

He spun to look at the two clowns angrily.

"You assholes. You dare set me up? Are you hired by the Secret Forger to cheat me?" Gan Brooks snarled in anger as he shed all pretenses at being a gentleman in light of losing so much money!

A towering aura of fearsome wood energy blasted out from him at that moment.
