Naruto: Spiral Into The Darkness

Chapter 11: Threat

Naruto slowly rose, his feet slipping in the slick mud as the relentless rain pounded against his skin. The droplets stung his face, and his eyes squinted against the downpour. Kisame lifted Killer Bee onto his shoulder, and together they trudged through the forest, the trees' branches creaking in the wind. As evening descended, the sky transformed into a deep, foreboding grey.

The next morning, at the crack of dawn, Kisame and Naruto approached the familiar hideout – a cave carved into the mountainside, shrouded in a veil of forest trees. Zetsu awaited them at the entrance, his white half gleaming in the faint morning light. The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth and leaves.

"Ah, look who's back," White Zetsu said in a goofy, childlike tone, "Kisame and Naruto, and they've brought the Eight Tails with them!" Black Zetsu retorted, "I can see that, we're the same person, after all."

As Naruto and Kisame drew closer, Kisame asked Zetsu, "Is Lord Madara here yet?" Zetsu replied, "Yes, and Pain as well. They've already summoned the Gedo Statue, and they're ready for extraction."

Kisame nodded, "Very well, let's go inside, Fox Boy." White Zetsu observed, "Kisame looks battered. Must've been a tough time capturing the Eight Tails without killing it." Black Zetsu snarked, "Thanks for pointing that out, Captain Obvious."

As they entered the cave, Madara (Obito Uchiha) sat on a boulder, his orange mask glinting in the dim light. He lounged in a cool, laid-back pose, one leg crossed over the other, exuding an air of confidence. Pain stood beside him, his expression nonchalant. The cave was desolate, except for the imposing Gedo Statue and the presence of the Akatsuki members. The silence was palpable, punctuated only by the faint humming noise of the cave.

As Naruto and Kisame entered, followed by Zetsu, Pain turned his attention to them and walked towards them, while Madara remained fixed in his position. Pain asked Kisame, "I see it went well, but honestly, it took you longer than expected, Kisame."

Kisame dropped Killer Bee's body onto the cave floor, "Well, it's the Eight Tails, the second strongest of all tailed beasts. I may have overestimated my abilities, but nonetheless, here it is. If it wasn't for Fox Boy over here, we would've been finished." Naruto spoke up, "I barely put up a fight. If I was by myself, I would've been finished. But I promise, next time I'll be stronger. I'll never look down in the midst of battle."

In a flash, Madara materialized behind Naruto, his shoulder brushing against the younger ninja's. "Good, that's what I want to hear, Naruto Uzumaki. But just how do you plan to get stronger... by harnessing the power of the Nine Tails, I presume? Then he asked, "Just how will you take the Nine Tails?" Naruto's eyes widened in shock, unsure how Madara had moved so swiftly or whether it was a clone.

Naruto was unsure how to answer " I will.....

Madara continued, "Seems you haven't figured it out then. Let's not waste any more time. Kisame, Pain, Zetsu, let's begin the extraction." He glanced at Naruto, "You can sit this one out, since you're new. It's not like we'll ever need to extract any other tailed beast again, is it, Naruto?" Naruto's heart beat accelerated as the atmosphere grew tense, trying to decipher the hidden meaning behind Madara's words.

Madara strode away from Naruto, his footsteps echoing off the cave walls as he joined the others beside the Gedo Statue. The air was heavy with anticipation as they initiated the extraction process. Before beginning, they sealed the cave entrance, enveloping the space in an eerie silence. The only sound was the soft hum of the statue's dark energy.

Naruto's expressionless face belied the turmoil brewing within. His eyes seemed to bore into the darkness, his mind racing with conflicting emotions. Yet, his clenched fist betrayed the intensity of his feelings. Kisame's words still lingered in his mind, fueling his desire for revenge.

"I'll get my revenge on the Leaf," Naruto muttered, his voice barely audible over the sound of his own ragged breathing. "And I'll find... and I'll sever all the meaningless bonds, including with you, Sasuke. I won't let you hold me back anymore." A malevolent smile spread across his face, and he let out a low, ominous chuckle. The emotions swirling within him grew stronger, darker, and more sinister, threatening to consume him whole.

In the meantime, Sasuke led the way adorned in Akatsuki clothing, his group dressed the same running in tandem through a dense forest in the iconic Naruto run, their feet pounding the earth in unison. Sasuke's Sharingan was activated, scanning their surroundings as they moved swiftly. The sunlight filtering through the canopy above cast dappled shadows on the forest floor, and the sound of birdsong filled the air. His handsome features seemed chiseled from stone, exuding an aura of confidence that left Karin breathless. She gazed at him adoringly, her eyes shining with infatuation.

Jugo ran beside them, his expression quiet and introspective. Suigetsu, on the other hand, complained incessantly, his voice grating on the others' nerves. "We've been running for hours. Can't we stop for a water break already?" he whined.

Sasuke didn't bother responding, his gaze fixed on the path ahead. Suigetsu muttered under his breath, "Stupid Sasuke..." Karin's thoughts, however, were consumed by Sasuke's captivating presence. "Oh, Sasuke, he's so cool... The way he ignores Suigetsu is just so... captivating."

Suigetsu continued to grumble, "When do you think we'll get there, anyway?" Sasuke finally deigned to respond, his voice firm and commanding. "I don't know. Just quit complaining and shut up."

As they sprinted through the dense forest, the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs beneath their feet served as a stark reminder of their frantic pace. Sasuke suddenly halted, his eyes scanning their surroundings with an air of suspicion.

Karin, breathless and concerned, asked, "What's wrong, Sasuke?"

Sasuke's gaze lingered on a seemingly empty spot ahead, his voice low and menacing. "Just how long are you planning to follow us?"

Suigetsu's eyes darted around, searching for any sign of the unknown pursuer. Jugo, too, scanned their surroundings, his brow furrowed in a mixture of confusion and hostility.

Suigetsu turned to Sasuke, his voice tinged with a hint of skepticism. "Who are you talking to?"

Sasuke's Sharingan, now activated, gleamed with an otherworldly intensity. His eyes seemed to bore into the very soul of their unseen stalker. "Fine then," he growled, his voice dripping with malice. "If you're not going to respond, then I'll drag you out myself."

As Sasuke's emotions reached a boiling point, his Sharingan underwent a dramatic transformation. The tomoe in his eyes began to distort and swirl, like a vortex of chakra. The irises turned a deep, bloody red, and the pupils transformed into a series of curved, serrated lines.

Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan had activated, radiating an aura of intense power and foreboding.
