Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Punisher
Just when Jason was a little stunned, several loud gunshots were heard again. Murphy Stanton, who was unable to dodge, could only use sonic defense again.
Bang~bang~bang~! Three bullets hit Murphy's sound wave barrier and made a loud noise. Murphy Stanton, who was at the center of the sonic boom, not only had blood flowing out of his ears, but even the corners of his mouth were covered with blood.
In the final analysis, Murphy Stanton was just a failed product of General Stryker's human transformation. In the original experimental plan, Murphy Stanton should be able to control sound waves and vibrations.
He can use resonance to easily destroy buildings hundreds of stories high. His sonic barrier should be able to withstand the bombardment of 255mm heavy cannons or even small fuel-air bombs.
The sonic attack he emits should be able to easily travel hundreds of meters, and all creatures along the way will be killed by the high-frequency vibrations of his sonic waves!
If Murphy Stanton can really meet the initial indicators of the experiment, then according to the mutant level standards, he is at least an Alpha-level mutant.
But it is obvious that the level Murphy Stanton finally achieved was very different from the initial test goal, and his strength was seriously reduced.
Now he has no ability to use resonance, and his sonic attacks have become pure shock waves with no high-frequency oscillation capability. Moreover, his sonic barrier can only withstand the firepower of 7.62mm assault rifles. He cannot withstand attacks from 12.7mm high-powered heavy machine gun bullets or sniper rifle bullets.
Murphy also has a very fatal weakness, that is, once the sound wave barrier is broken, the huge sonic boom will first backfire on himself.
Just like now, the damage caused by the sonic boom was completely fed back to Murphy, so General Stryker directly regarded him as a waste of failed experiments and let Franco Stanitch deal with him.
The continuous sonic booms backfired on Murphy Stanton, causing him to suffer huge sonic damage inside his body. If it weren't for the mutant's strong physique, he would have been killed by the sonic booms.
The gunfire from the opposite building had stopped. Jason saw a man in black combat uniform and brown windbreaker descending quickly from the opposite building using a rappelling lock.
The man continued to fire at Murphy Stanton with an M16 assault rifle while rappelling.
The man's shooting was very accurate, and Murphy Stanton was ready to escape, but the man in black shot Murphy's legs directly, breaking them.
The man in black continued to fire as he walked toward Murphy. The M16 assault rifle's firepower was released in the most violent way. The M16 used a 60-round extended magazine, and every time a bullet was ejected, a ball of hot flames would burst out from the muzzle.
The flames were so dazzling in the darkness, and every bullet ejected from the muzzle would inevitably splash a flower of blood on Murphy's body. Murphy's sonic barrier was almost gone, and it was completely unable to provide him with real protection.
The man in black fired the last bullet in the magazine of the M16 assault rifle and threw the rifle away. Then he took out two Uzi submachine guns from his windbreaker. The two Uzi submachine guns with 50 rounds of magazine capacity continued to burst out powerful firepower. The 9mm caliber Uzi submachine gun bullets kept on firing at Murphy's already scarred body.
But even so, Murphy was still alive. Jason was a little surprised at the vitality of this mutant!
After the man in black had used up all the bullets in the two submachine guns, he actually took out two Browning semi-automatic pistols with a capacity of 20 rounds from his waist.
Jason was stunned. At that moment, he felt that he had not traveled to the world of superheroes, but to the world of "GTA5". This was a human arsenal! At this moment, even if the other party suddenly took out a Gatling gun to shoot, Jason felt that he would not be surprised anymore.
The man in black was only fifty meters away from Murphy. It took him about fifteen seconds to walk there, but he fired nearly two hundred rounds of ammunition at Murphy.
Jason put himself in the shoes of the man and thought about what would happen if he faced this scary man in black. Jason's final thought was probably not very optimistic.
The black-clad man's shooting skills were accurate, and from the sniper attack just now, it was proved that this man was very good at lurking. And I'm afraid this man was still a very calm guy. Although he had fired nearly 200 bullets at Murphy, he still approached cautiously.
As the man walked in, Jason could already see his face clearly. He had thick black hair that was combed back, and thick stubble that grew from his temples to his chin. The man's face looked very resolute, and his black eyes had a calm, cruel look.
There is a white skull printed on the black combat uniform, and there seems to be a weapon hidden inside the brown windbreaker.
Seeing the man's appearance, Jason suddenly felt as if he remembered someone. That scary guy seemed very similar to the man in front of him. He was also a hero, but he was very unpopular. He was the Punisher Frank Castle.
Jason knew the name of the Punisher in his previous life on Earth. Although he was a minority among the superheroes, Jason played a horizontal version of the game based on him in the arcade when he was a child. Because of the happy memories of playing games in his childhood, Jason could tell who the other person was at a glance.
The Punisher, Frank Castle, is a 100% normal person without any mutation or transformation. He is a former special warfare instructor of the Marine Corps.
He is proficient in various fighting techniques and the use of hot and cold weapons. He is good at special operations such as ambushes, raids, blasting, infiltration, and espionage. He is also recognized as a level 10 agent by Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and is evaluated as a monster at the extreme level of combat that normal humans can achieve.
Jason suddenly recalled all his memories about Frank Castle. Although this guy was a normal person, he was obviously a terrifying monster in human skin. Although he had no superpowers, his battle experience and amazing combat skills were beyond the reach of Jason now.
Frank walked in front of Murphy Stanton and fired two more shots to confirm whether Murphy was really dead. He found that Murphy was indeed motionless and continued to move closer. When Frank was only one meter away from Murphy's body, Murphy, who was supposed to be a corpse, suddenly moved.
Murphy's mouth suddenly opened and he let out a silent cry, and an invisible sound wave came out of his mouth. But Frank lived up to his name as the Punisher, and he dodged to the side when Murphy just made a move, and then fired three shots at Murphy's head.
Along with the gunshot, a steel knife flew from behind Murphy. It was thrown by Jason. When you are not completely sure that your opponent is dead, you can never take it lightly. This is the experience that Jason gained in the training space at the cost of his own life.
Three bullets hit Murphy's brain, and the steel knife thrown by Jason directly cut Murphy's brain in half.
Punisher Frank glanced at Jason and said coldly, "If you can still move, you'd better follow me." Then he strode away from the place full of corpses. Jason used his internal strength, picked up his steel knife and barely kept up with Frank's pace.
This time it was no longer a minor fight. The deafening sound of gunfire had resounded throughout the entire Sixth Street District. More than a dozen people had died, including a mutant. This incident would inevitably cause a great shock in New York, and even throughout the United States!
