MHA: Call Of Duty Hero's Warfare

Chapter 17: Chapter: 15

Ben pressed forward, his steps light as he navigated through the darkened corridors. The distant sound of boots against metal told him the mercenaries were on the move. He had to act fast.

"Metal-1, status?" Ben whispered, keeping his voice low.

"Got eyes on multiple hostiles," Ethan responded. "They're sweeping the hallways, but their formation is sloppy. Looks like they're expecting resistance but not from someone like you."

Ben smirked. "Good. I need you to cut the lights in Sector C on my mark."

"Roger that, Bravo 6. Ready when you are."

Ben pressed his back against the wall as two mercenaries rounded a corner. They were armed, but they hadn't noticed him yet. He crouched, waiting for the right moment.

"Mark."

Instantly, the hallway was plunged into darkness. Confused shouts filled the air. "What the?" one of the mercenaries started before Ben struck.

With fluid precision, he lunged forward, grabbing the first enemy's weapon and twisting it away before delivering a swift elbow to his jaw. The second mercenary turned, raising his gun, but Ben was faster. His Quirk flared, manifesting a small, compact stun baton in his grip. A single strike to the ribs sent the man sprawling.

"Two down," Ben whispered. "Metal-1, feed me the fastest route to the vault."

Ethan's voice came through instantly. "Take the next left, then head down the stairwell. You'll run into a security checkpoint. Expect heavy resistance."

Ben nodded to himself. "Understood. Any way to disable the security measures?"

"Already on it. Give me ten seconds."

Ben reached the stairwell and took the steps two at a time. As he reached the lower level, his earpiece crackled. "Alright, security's fried. Cameras are looping, and I'm jamming enemy comms in the area. But, uh, heads up three hostiles stationed outside the vault. Heavily armed."

Ben smirked. "Good thing I brought some toys."

He closed his eyes, focusing his Quirk. In an instant, a smoke grenade materialized in his hand. He pulled the pin and rolled it down the hallway. Thick, gray smoke filled the space, sending the guards into a frenzy.

"What the hell-?!"

Ben moved like a shadow. He struck the first guard with a swift knee to the gut, using his Quirk to create handcuffs that latched onto the second guard's wrists. The third tried to fire blindly through the smoke, but Ben was already behind him. One solid blow to the back of the head, and he was out cold.

"Vault entrance is secure," Ben reported. "Moving in."

Melissa's voice broke through. "Ben, be careful. We still don't know who's leading them."

Ben placed his hand on the massive vault door. "Guess I'll find out soon enough." With one last deep breath, he reached out, and using his Quirk, began to forge a device to override the lock.

Time was running out.
