Chapter 21: Pepper Request

---

After hearing what Kai Vale said later, Pepper immediately understood that Kai had changed his approach and agreed to her request, so she was very grateful.

"Thank you, Kai." She then got up and prepared to leave.

At this time, Grandfather also came out with a prepared meal. Seeing Pepper about to leave, he quickly called her:

"Pepper, don't leave yet. Finish what I made before you go. Look at you, you're already so tired. Don't worry, I believe that Stark boy will be safe."

Pepper was pulled by Grandfather to sit down, and then she slowly finished the food.

While eating, Pepper's tears fell. Since she learned the news of Tony's disappearance, she had not slept well and hadn't relaxed for a single minute. She was under great pressure. On one hand, she hoped that the military could find Tony as soon as possible, and on the other hand, she had to take care of the company and deal with the sharp drop in stock prices.

So now, facing Grandfather's concern, she finally couldn't help but shed tears.

When Grandfather saw Pepper crying, he didn't know what to do and thought he had said something wrong.

Unexpectedly, Pepper said:

"Thank you very much, Master Vale. I didn't expect you to care about me at this time and do this for me. I feel the warmth of love from an elder. Don't worry, I will hold on until Tony comes back."

After dinner, when Pepper was about to leave, she bowed to Grandfather at the door of the restaurant:

"Master Vale, from today on, you are my elder. Don't worry, I will take good care of myself."

Then she got into the car escorted by bodyguards and returned to Stark Group.

Grandfather was moved by Pepper's last words and said:

"This girl is great, she's strong. But I wonder if Tony can come back safely?"

When Kai heard Grandfather's words, he thought to himself: *He will definitely be able to come back. Not to mention the Mark I he invented in the cave, even I will wait until Tony invents the armor and then rescue him. However, that will definitely be a few months later, so I didn't tell Pepper now.*

Kai was also afraid that if he went too early and rescued Tony, he would attract the hidden Master Ancient One, who would say that he had interfered with the timeline and disrupted the normal direction of events, so he needed to be eliminated in order to restore the original timeline.

Therefore, Kai decided to be patient and wait until Tony built the armor before stepping in.

Afterwards, Kai called Ethan and then went to the company and personally asked him to remove all the videos that spread rumors about Tony and re-examine them. The reason was that the content of the video might involve the spread of false news, leading to adverse consequences.

After listening to this, Ethan assured Kai that he would get it done in the shortest possible time and asked Kai to rest assured.

When Pepper returned to the company and watched the videos again, she found that there were fewer and fewer videos about Tony. Most of the content she could see now was people praying for Tony to have good luck, be found soon, and come back safely.

Seeing this, Pepper felt that Kai worked really quickly. As soon as she returned to the company, Kai had already achieved the effect she wanted.

Now, the news of Tony's disappearance had become less popular on short videos. However, since Tony was the only remaining member of the Stark family, his popularity couldn't be erased entirely.

Elsewhere, people were still talking about it, and Stark Group's stock price kept falling.

Kai sat in his office and told Gear:

"Gear, when Stark Group's stock price drops to a certain level, prepare to buy the shares of Stark Group at the bottom."

"Okay, but Master, judging from the current situation, Stark Group's shares seem hopeless. Why are you still buying at the bottom?"

Kai was very happy to hear Gear's doubts because Gear was not like Jarvis — a rigid artificial intelligence.

Gear had his own consciousness and could think like a human, so he asked such questions when Kai wanted to buy Stark Group shares.

Kai explained:

"Others may not know, but I do know that Tony Stark will definitely come back safe and sound, and nothing will happen to him. By then, the share price of Stark Group will rise again."

After hearing what Kai said, Gear tilted his head in confusion, not understanding why Kai was so sure Tony Stark would return safely.

However, he still followed Kai's instructions and prepared to buy when the stock price was at its lowest point, quietly waiting for Tony to return so they could make a fortune.

After all these arrangements, Kai stood up, stretched, and said:

"Sure enough, I'm still not suited for sitting in the office. I sat for too long today, and my waist is uncomfortable."

Then Kai said something to Ethan and left.

After returning home, Kai estimated the time. Since Tony was kidnapped in January 2008, it would take another two or three months for Tony to make the Mark I in the cave.

Only then would Kai go to rescue Tony. Otherwise, if he acted too early and rescued Tony before he had built the Ark Reactor and the armor, the plot would unravel differently.

So Kai decided that during these few months, he would not do anything extra. He would just build up his strength while quietly waiting for Tony to successfully make the armor.

During these months, Kai had been constantly training his space power. Now he could skillfully release the space gate without any pressure. Kai had even begun to try to open the space gate to the moon.

However, after several attempts, Kai still failed. This made him realize that he still had a long way to go before mastering the power of space. So Kai practiced harder and also trained with his magic wand in between.

Now Kai could easily use the magic wand to cast the magic in his mind to achieve his goals.

However, he did not yet have a good grasp of the amount of magic, because one time when Kai wanted to clean up the room, he accidentally cleared out everything inside — leaving him alone in an empty room.

During these months, Grandfather often called Pepper to the restaurant and gave her food supplements from time to time to help her maintain her increasingly tired spirit and body.

It wasn't until Kai estimated that the time was almost right that he said to Grandfather:

"Grandpa, I have something to do recently and need to go out for a few days. You have to take good care of yourself at home."

Then he said to Pepper:

"I should be able to find where Tony is."
