Chapter 8: A New Day
*Yawn*
A sparkling light shines brightly on Blaine's face.
He made a soft groan.
"It's morning already?"
Sunlight and the sounds of birds chirping woke him up.
He deeply yawned. Got up from his bed and went to freshen himself up in the shower.
Many of the bedrooms and guest rooms had their own bathroom, for individuals private use. Aside from the one Blaine used yesterday.
He looked at himself in the mirror.
"I'm really here, aren't I… still can't get my head around it.
And, of course, I became a butler overnight… and a knight.
I can't even throw a punch, let alone fight.
That time I beat up those bandits, it was because of this thing in my head."
[…]
"Got nothing to say?"
[…]
Blaine scoffed.
"Alright, let's talk! That time you dumped my brain with so much combat knowledge… how did you do it?"
[I looked through your memories of all that you know about fighting and gave them to you]
"What?! Wait… now that I think about it, I did read a lot about fighting. I was interested, so I tried it, but unfortunately it didn't work out.
Well, thank you, I guess." He chuckled.
"But, anyways, if I want to survive in this world, I have to become strong! No matter what it!"
He walked out of the bathroom and changed his clothes. He opened the door and was about to leave, then suddenly he saw a familiar man standing outside.
"Good morning, young Blaine. I was about to come wake you. But, I see you're already up." Sebas was about to knock the door, then stopped after he saw Blaine and said.
"Good morning, mister Sebas."
"You can't stay asleep when the sun is shining on your face, now can you?" Blaine responded as he softly chuckled.
"You are right indeed, young Blaine.
But, isn't it such a wonderful thing.
Having the sun wake you up with it's blinding, and brilliant brightness.
Indicating. A new day." Sebas said with a gentle smile.
"Yeah, you're right! I… didn't think of it that way!" Blaine chuckled and responded back.
"You have much to learn." Sebas smiled and said.
"And I'm hoping you'll teach me." Blaine said respectfully.
"Of course, young Blaine!" Sebas softly laughed and replied back. "And I see you're wearing a similar outfit to the one from yesterday."
"Mm-hmm, I thought it would be appropriate to wear this. Since I'm now a butler and all."
"We have to go and get you a proper attire, after we're done eating, and all the morning tasks are done,of course."
After Sebas said that, Blaine left the room and followed Sebas downstairs.
The maids were getting the breakfast ready and serving it on the dining table.
Albus was sitting with a woman. And Cedric was there as well. Janika was approaching them with a little boy, who looked to be about 10 years of age.
Cedric saw Blaine and shouted not too loudly. "Blaine, you're here!
And you look just as cute as you were yesterday!"
"Oh, come on! This early in the morning?! Even if you're handsome, you can't just say whatever's on your mind, you know!" Blaine smiled and thought to himself.
He gave a gentle smile and said "I hope you're having a great day, Master Cedric, Master Albus, and…"
Blaine looked at the woman and was stunned by her beauty.
"You didn't had the chance to meet each other. Blaine, meet, my wife and the most beautiful woman I have ever known." Albus said with a soft smile.
"Aw, darling, you're embarrassing me." The woman chuckled.
"Though it's a shame we never had the chance to meet yesterday, but, like they say, no time like the present.
I am Luna Circe Steins. Also the Head of the Circe Family. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Y-yes, ma'am, it's a pleasure to meet toy as well!" Blaine said nervously as he averted his eyes from her and looked at the floor below.
Luna's eyes were fixed on Blaine.
Her gaze was as sharp as a thousand pieces of shattered glass.
For every second that he stood there, Blaine felt his body being pierced by a blade,
over and over.
Luna was a strong woman.
She was as much as dangerous as she was beautiful.
"Honey, you're doing it again." Albus sighed.
"Wh-what?! Did I go too far?! I'm sorry! I-I was just testing you!" She said as she tried to apologize to Blaine.
*Gasp*
"Wh-what the?! What do you mean you were just testing me?! I was hanging onto dear life, hoping that you won't kill me with you eyes!
But… that was so COOL! How did she do it?!"
Blaine was nervous, frightened, and excited at the same time, because this was something he experienced for the first time. Not like the one with the bandits.
It was different.
She had no killing intent. And Blaine knew that. He knew that she wouldn't do anything that would harm him in any way.
It was a gut feeling. He just had to bear with it.
"Are you alright, Blaine! Albus and Cedric were worried.
"Yes… I'm fine!" Blaine was trying to catch his breath.
"That was truly terrifying, ma'am! Blaine grunted and smiled.
Luna's eyes widened "I see, I'll have to top it up a bit." And she smiled back at Blaine.
"No! I-I think I'll have to pass on that! Thank you" Blaine still grunting and smiling.
"You're still standing even after that. I must say, that was truly impressive!" Luna responded back.
"Mommy, Daddy!" The little boy coming with Janika said cheerfully.
"Aw, look how's here, my little baby boy!" Luna's attention went to her child and gave him a tight hug.
"What's happening here?"
Janika questioned and before anyone could say anything… Blaine stepped forward
"Nothing… I was just introducing myself to Miss Luna."
"Okay…" Janika looked at Blaine. She was concerned for him.
"And, good morning, milady, you look lovely"
"Hmph" she shrugged in annoyance
Before Janika could notice, Blaine wiped the sweat from his face. It wasn't much, so he had no problem wiping it before she could notice anything.
Everyone sat down at the table.
"Blaine, what are you doing there? Come here and eat!" Albus said.
"No, sir, I couldn't!" Blaine tried to refuse.
"Blaine, as your mistress, I'm telling you to come and eat with us!"
"Yes, milady." Blaine gave up and sat at the table.
"And stop saying that! Call me Janika!"
She had a fierce look, just like her mother.
"Okay… Janika." Blaine thought that calling her 'milady' was somehow hurting her feelings. And thought he should talk to her like normal.
"Yes! Much better!" Her mood suddenly changed and she got cheerful.
Everyone was eating breakfast.
Blaine looked at Janika and Luna and thought how much they look alike. Silver hair, crimson eyes, and even their personalities. Then he look at Albus, Cedric, and Cleon. Cerdric had the same dark brownish black hair, and crimson eyes. Cleon, the youngest son of the Circe Family, had silver hair, and blue eyes he inherited from his father.
*Some time later*
Everyone was done eating and Blaine left with Sebas after they had a talk with Albus, to go to a tailor shop, to have Blaine's proper butler attire be made. However, the tailor said the suit won't be ready for a few weeks. So they gave their order and came back home.
It was still noon and Blaine's training was about to begin.
