Chapter 1143: A while has passed

Back in the Heliox estate, the northern gate of the Roxanna empire.

Mothers were worried about their children. Read exclusive chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

Their mother, the grandmother of the children, was worried about their grandchildren as well as her husband who was accompanying them.

A husband was worried about his wife, while the one that looks after the entire house, the family-like butler that guards the Heliox, was worried about them all who had stepped into the hell-like place called the forbidden forest.

"A week has passed…"

"At least we heard from them yesterday. They seemed to be doing well, at the very least."

It was only thanks to the mirror artifact that they had in the garden area, the divine artifact that allowed them to talk with their family over here.

Still, they never really had much time together. The artifact could only stay up for a few moments and those few moments were never enough for either the mother or the grandmother who grinded away at herself for not being strong enough for the family that was still there with her.

"It was the same back when Eon was there… he could only call once a few weeks and then we didn't hear anything from him."

They knew it was going to be the same this time as well. They weren't going to hear from them much while they were still there.

They also knew they weren't going to tell them about what was going on over there so they didn't worry, showing them only what they wanted to, or could show them at that time.

"Anna looked older, you know. I was… I almost didn't recognize her."

They were stunned to see their little Angel.

She was doing well, but her hair had changed a little. She also looked older, or more mature as they could see.

It was strange, but at the same time, it was a relief that their little one was doing well.

"I was so worried…" Even as the aunts, both Hazel and Aug could not help their worries.

Anna was nothing less than their own child. She was a precious jewel of theirs that no treasure in the world could compare to…

"Nolan, don't you think they seemed sad-." Aug asked her with a concerned look, knowing well how she was the most worried one among them.

"They wanted to tell much more…" And her quick reply to her question was filled with worries as well.

She had a gloomy look right now, with dark circles under her eyes.

It was obvious that she had not slept for a while now, she might not have had rest for a long time. One might not understand it, but the bitter smile on her face at this moment also signified her helplessness in this matter.

"My baby girl is growing, my baby boy is looking after them as if some older person is looking after his precious ones. My other children look tired, beaten down, somewhat happy, yet lonely.

They called, yes, and they could have sent us the coded messages like Eon used to for us to know all that had happened over there, but they did not do it.

They perhaps could not do it even if they wanted to… perhaps, there are more complications going on over there than what we could understand."

Eon and the rest of them had decided to keep the matters regarding their situations to themselves.

If they were to tell them the time in that place passed three times faster, their mothers would be even more worried.

They were in a forbidden area at the end of the day, the things that could happen to them over there were not going to be so simple.

They had spent around a month in that place till now and in this time, they had improved their combat with the help of the artifacts, built up their fundamentals, and were on the path to start learning new things that they might not have been able to in the outside world.

They were improving and there was still a lot more time left.

Also, while the people here did not know about it, they had conducted a complicated experiment over there just now and had summoned an arcane energy beast.

The process had left the three who were closely involved in the process wounded, but those wounds would heal quickly– had the mothers known about the incident though, they would be scolded even further.

"Mime and brother Havi are there though. They seemed to be doing well." Lord Luthor was looking after the house in their absence now.

While his wife had gone with them, he had not thought much about this situation.

She was there to help them, but he knew from what he saw that she was doing much better than he had expected.

She had improved as well, she almost looked stronger to him now.

"While there may be circumstances that we do not know of, they should be doing well with their training.

Not just that, they should be eating well and taking care of one another to ultimately take care of Anna who must be in the center of everything in that place."

Luthor was not just confident in the abilities of the adults who had gone with them, he trusted that they would do anything required to look after the children.

If they were doing something they should not, they would scold them. If they were overdoing themselves, they would stop them and force them to take a break.

If they were stuck on something, they would spend however long they needed to help them even if the children did not want to.

And even though that place had many opportunities for growth for them, they would put aside their own growth for the time being and look after what was the most important to them right now: the children.

"Thor is right, Nol. I know they hid a lot from us, but they also told us whatever they could in that short time." While it was not enough for those who had been waiting for them for over a Week, just seeing them all safe and sound was enough for her heart to calm down.

"But mother-."

"No, Nol. It's alright. I know you must be going through a lot right now but we don't have to worry about them anymore. At least, not as much as we have been until now."

As the lord of the house, she was supposed to be looking after this fragile family of hers.

All three of the mothers and all of the fathers who weren't here were in the same condition, but at least…

"And Anna looked pretty, alight. My little angel seemed happy and healthy if anything~." It was a relief that Anna was doing well.

It was a genuine relief that she only looked mature and stronger now.

"Her awakening must not have been simple, but she held her ground. She's just like her siblings in that manner." Even lord Luthor could not deny the fact that their little Anna seemed the brightest even among her outstanding siblings.

"Right~? She looks even more adorable now~." The brother-sister duo were now talking about their little angel.

"She was happy when she was talking about her Arcane energy arts as well. Seems like they are teaching her some good things." Aug joined in the two's praises and with a smile on her face, she praised Anna as well.

"The others looked tired, but she seemed full of energy." Haze seemed to have cried from how there was redness under her eyes. But while talking about Anna, she was at least in a better state.

"Young Miss wasn't as worried about us as I thought she would be." A voice spoke from behind them all as they looked back at their uncle Zhen.

"Usually, she would have been more worried about us all instead of someone else, but she was more careful of us instead of worried.

It seemed like she had found something more important to work towards… she was still doing well considering her nature." His words shed light on something they all were overlooking.

"The empathetic Anna that we know is growing in many aspects." Nol knew that. The pure child that she knew was becoming more selfish, more adult-like.

She was not the same as the other children, she was different, yet there were some aspects of her that indicated a maturity that does not come with an increased strength or opening of potential.

It was also not because of their environment. She was becoming more greedy, and more selfish for her growth. And even if this change was relatively small, they knew it was ultimately a good sign.

"When she comes back… I don't think we will be able to stop her from doing what she wants anymore." Griz, as their grandmother as well as the lord, knew how this was going to turn out going forward.

She had seen this with Nol, she had seen this with El, and she had seen this with Eon as well.

"One cannot stop a gale simply by standing in its path." It was the truth of nature that those destined for greatness will find their path eventually.

If she was focused on her self-growth right now, then it meant she was focused on making a better future, or at least becoming a better version of herself.

Unlike her innocent and childish nature that they were aware of, she might just be like the rest of their children when she comes back.

"It was always inevitable." Brian knew it as well.

He spoke from the other side of the room, attracting everyone's attention with a backpack on his back.

"She was bound to find her ambitions."

It seemed like he was preparing to go somewhere.

And from the helpless look that Nol had when looking at his current state, it was evident that this was no simple situation…

He was doing something she did not want.
