I'm locked in, with a screen in front of me and my father standing to my right talking to some guy accompanied by two armed guys. I can't make it out and it's ringing in my head a little bit. Reminds me of the morning after Detroit. Trying to strain my body to break free I fail. Examining myself, I noticed the tubes that led to my veins. They seemed to have taken care of my strength. But what was most surprising was the presence of several fire extinguishers and cooling around the tubes. It seemed Alexander had somehow found out about my new ability. But how? My senses had always unmistakably found the enemy, and for the past month, even in human form, it had been impossible to get close to me. Puma and I have been in charge of finding and destroying tails. And then it hit me. It's Marvel. There's all kinds of crap out there. When I realised I was awake, the guy talking to my dad came over to me.

-Hello, Mr Pierce. I see you've appreciated my hospitality. - He said, with a nasty smile on his face.

-I take it you don't get many visitors. - I replied with an ironic smile, showing no signs of panic.

-Pierce, your son has a streak. -Said the creep. - Said the creepy guy.

-That is, you didn't realise from his mission recordings that he's not a simple teenager. - Replied the disgruntled Alexander.

-You can't tell what's inside a person by the way they carry out a massacre. I have had some individuals who just blazed with confidence and threats, but after realising their helplessness immediately changed their behaviour. - Said the man in the jacket and laughed nastily.

-Perhaps he is still calm because of your presence. - He spread his hands.

-Father, maybe you can explain what this is all about. - I said, trying to catch him with my side-eye.

Sighing, he came and stood in front of me. -You see, Ryan, you have too many secrets and powers. I was willing to turn a blind eye to your escape from Creel. Though I still don't understand how you did it. I can even accept and understand you becoming a mercenary. The boy got superpowers and decided to use them. And you've been pissed off at Brooks for a long time. Believe me, I don't care who you killed. But where I work, a lot of people do care about your out-of-control behaviour, and you're starting to raise questions. That week also added to the problem. - Pierce stopped for a while, dumped a lot of information on me.

With every word he said, I needed less and less of a device to keep my eyes open. It's just... wow. Without giving me time to comprehend any part of what he said, he continued.

-Rain, you're going to have to undergo a procedure. It'll calm some people down. including me. - He told me about the brainwashing, as if I were having my tonsils removed.

-What kind of procedure? You're not doing Clockwork Orange, are you? - I asked my father just for the record.

-Where? -Dad didn't understand.

But one of the guards smiled. I guess even Hydra has some normal people.

-Forget it. - I said, looking round the room.

-Okay, doc, go ahead. - Said Alexander sitting down on a chair in the corner of the room.

-With pleasure. - Replied Mr Hospitality.

At that moment one of the tubes was filled with a strange solution, which made my vision a little blurred, in principle, as well as my thoughts. Killer stuff. After a few minutes or seconds it was still quite difficult to understand the speakers started. To my surprise, they were playing some unexpected speeches. I had already prepared myself to listen to such classics as "Obedience will be rewarded" or "Homecoming. One. Goods wagon." And they started telling me about being loyal to Hydra and working for it. It took a long time.

But apparently at some point this record got on their nerves and they changed the song. Now, as I understand it, they're trying to instil a phrase of truth in me. Like when you hear "All things secret always come to light" and you start telling the truth and nothing but the truth. By this point my skill level had risen enough to start stabilising my state so that I could almost normally perceive what was around me. It's actually quite strange that the way the brainwashing they use on me is so different. In the series, one agent was broken for almost a week with just one phrase. And then several in such a small amount of time. Why so small? Well, it's simple. Fury's probably got his eye on me, which means I can't disappear for more than a week or two at the most. Not even with my dad.

Given that it looks like it's gonna be a while, I thought I'd put on some music. My blocked hands didn't interfere with my mental commands. Deciding I needed something themed, I turned on Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes (RADIO TAPOK).Using a poker face to maintain the previous position of my facial muscles, I began to enjoy myself.

After enduring fifteen hours of this arthouse cartoon, I was getting tired of these arthouse cartoons. And like magic, the record was changed again. But no, for some reason they just turned down the volume of the previous single and put a new one on top of it. I didn't like the lyrics of the new track though. I started to get into commands like Creel and Bucky. Out of the corner of my eye I looked at my father and saw that he was still sitting quietly reading a book, occasionally looking at me. He didn't seem to hear what was coming into my ears. Micro headphones? Or are they using directional sound technology? But who cares? The important thing is they're trying to turn me into a lapdog, bypassing my dad. Man, if it wasn't for the mind of a player, I'd be in for a real treat.

They kept me like that for three more days. During which I was clearly beaten with the phrase "Beast in a cage" as a lever to switch to zombie mode. But finally it seemed to be time to check the success of the procedure. The cartoons were switched off, my eyes could close again, and the room was filled with a soothing silence, interrupted only by my father's footsteps heading in my direction.

-Rain can you hear me? - Asked Alexander looking at my not very sensible face.

-Yes. -I answered, mimicking the effects of the drugs.

-James, why is he still like that? - Pierce asked a man who came over.

-"He's probably still reeling from the amount of solution we gave him. - The jacketed rat stated the obvious.

-Now I'll get him something to perk him up. - Said James and left.

A couple of minutes later, I felt a new dose go through the tubes. Only this time the solution didn't weaken me, but instead filled my body with energy.

-Mmmm what? How long have I been here? - I asked, acting out the restoration of consciousness.

-It doesn't matter now. - He dismissed my question and hurried to ask his own.

-All secret things always come to light. - Said Alexander, repeating the magic phrase three times for full confidence in the work of the hypnoprogramme.

-Tell me where you were between the twenty-seventh of January and the fifth of February. - Pierce finally asked his question.

Strange why such a precise period of time. It was exactly when I was badly injured and went to the X-Men. And tell him what?

-I was seriously injured on the mission and I had to hide in one of Arclight's prepared spots to lay low in case something went wrong. - I said, imitating a blank stare.

-Good. And how exactly were you wounded? - Alexander asked, looking at my side. Why would I be hurt?

-My left side was torn off and more than half of my rib cage was broken. - I replied, cringing as I remembered the moment.

Alexander's gaze flashed with understanding mixed with sympathy. Could he sympathise? Pulling a strange thing from his pocket that resembled a knife handle, he lifted up my clothes and placed it against my left side. Whereupon I heard a click and felt my side being cut through.

-Be careful in the future I don't want to find you again. - Said Pierce, putting the device back in his pocket.

-How did you get one of the Iron Man suits? -How did you get one of the Iron Man suits? - He asked, looking me over.

-At a party, I was able to inspire Stark to discover a new element, which made us buddies. At the expo, I got a call from Tony telling me to come outside to get a gift. I didn't even think it would be armour. - I answered with the same face.

-What's its combat potential? - He asked, obviously noticing the big differences from the usual Stark toys.

-It's pretty limited. It's powered by a generator that can last about six hours of active combat. No flight functions. With such a weak power source, there's no laser weaponry either. The suit itself has only a small supply of grenade launcher shells and a couple of machine guns along with one mini rocket launcher. It's more of a very crude hastily made mould than a finished product. - I described the suit in the most negative way possible.

-Where does the pyrokinesis ability come from? -Where does it come from? - Pierce asked the next question.

-"It came back after that week of recovery. I don't know why or how. - I answered, continuing my glassy-eyed stare.

-Why didn't you use it in the battle with Vanko? - Alexander decided to clarify.-She is too weak. I can beautifully cover some object with flames, but it does not cause damage. And the maximum temperature to which the fire heats up is dangerous only when directly touched by hand. - I described my paltry capabilities to my good dad.

-Show me. - Father demanded.

Touching the pencil, I covered it with fire, reducing the degree of heat to a minimum. When Pierce Sr. touched the fire, he pulled his hand away, although he noted to himself that the fire wasn't really dangerous.

-Good. I'm glad there are no secrets between us now. - Pierce said and pressed some button on the remote, starting the system for administering sleeping pills.

I had time to note the comicality of his line about secrets.
