Chapter 6: Chapter 6 – A Debt That Can’t Be Repaid
1. A Dangerous Agreement
Hana had never felt more out of place.
The bar was dimly lit, reeking of alcohol and cigarettes. Every person inside looked like they belonged in a different world—a dangerous one.
And Ji-hoon fit right in.
She watched as the man in black leaned forward, his smirk never fading.
"You want information?" he said, voice low and amused. "Then listen closely, Ji-hoon. The man you're looking for? He's already watching you."
Ji-hoon's fingers curled against the table. "Who is he?"
The man's smirk widened.
"You already know."
A sharp silence.
Ji-hoon's jaw tightened. "You're lying."
"Am I?" The man tilted his head. "You felt it, didn't you? The moment he returned."
Hana looked between them, confused.
"Who are you talking about?" she asked.
Neither of them answered.
Instead, the man's eyes gleamed as he said—
"I'll tell you everything, Ji-hoon. But you'll owe me."
Ji-hoon didn't hesitate. "Fine."
Hana's stomach twisted.
This was wrong.
She could see it in Ji-hoon's eyes.
But before she could protest, the man chuckled.
"Good," he said, leaning back. "Then let's talk about your brother."
Hana's breath caught.
Brother?
Ji-hoon's entire body went still.
And just like that, Hana realized—
She knew nothing about the boy standing beside her.

2. Ghosts from the Past
Ji-hoon didn't speak as they walked through the empty streets.
Hana followed, watching the way his shoulders were tense, his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore.
"You have a brother?" she asked.
Ji-hoon kept walking.
Hana stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "Answer me."
Silence.
Then—
"I don't have a brother," he said, voice cold. "Not anymore."
Hana's chest tightened.
"Ji-hoon—"
"It doesn't matter." His gaze flickered to hers, dark and unreadable. "What matters is that you listen to me for once."
His voice dropped.
"They're watching you, Hana. They know about you now."
Hana swallowed.
"Who?"
Ji-hoon exhaled sharply. "Someone I never wanted to see again."
A beat of silence.
Then—Ji-hoon reached out.
His fingers brushed against hers, lingering for just a second too long.
"You have to stay away from me."
Hana stared at him.
Then, slowly, she shook her head.
"Too late," she whispered.
Ji-hoon clenched his jaw.
And deep down, he knew.
She was right.

3. The First Attack
The first sign of danger came that night.
Hana had just gotten home when her phone buzzed.
Unknown Number: Did you really think you were safe?
Her blood ran cold.
Then—her window shattered.
Glass exploded into the room, sharp fragments flying. Hana gasped, stumbling back.
And standing just outside her broken window—
A man.
Dark clothes. Cold eyes.
Watching her.
A slow smirk curled on his lips.
Then, in a chilling whisper—
"Found you."
