IF LOVE HAD A NAME

Chapter 13: Chapter 13 – The Breaking Point

---

1. A Dangerous Mission

The city streets were empty, but Ji-hoon felt suffocated.

Seok-jin had given him the details—an exchange.

A simple job, he had said.

But Ji-hoon knew better.

Nothing was ever simple with Seok-jin.

He stood outside a dimly lit warehouse, tension coiling in his chest.

One last job.

Then Hana would be safe.

Or so he told himself.

"You're late," a voice sneered.

Ji-hoon turned.

Two men stood near the entrance, both armed.

His jaw clenched.

"Let's get this over with."

One of the men smirked.

"You always were an obedient dog."

Ji-hoon ignored him.

He stepped inside.

And that's when he knew—

He had walked into a trap.

2. Betrayal in the Dark

The moment the doors slammed shut behind him, Ji-hoon's instincts screamed.

Too late.

A dozen men stepped out from the shadows.

Guns. Knives. Smirks filled with malice.

Seok-jin was in the center, leaning against a table.

"Surprised?" he asked, grinning.

Ji-hoon's fists clenched.

"What is this?"

Seok-jin chuckled.

"A lesson."

He nodded, and the men moved.

Ji-hoon reacted instantly.

A fist slammed into his jaw—

Pain exploded, but he fought back.

One. Two. Three down.

But there were too many.

A hard kick to his ribs.

Another punch to his face.

His vision blurred.

Then—

A sharp pain in his side.

He gasped.

A knife.

Blood spilled onto the floor.

He staggered, dropping to one knee.

Seok-jin crouched in front of him.

"You really thought I'd let you go?"

Ji-hoon's breaths were shallow.

Seok-jin smirked.

"But don't worry—I'll take good care of Hana."

Ji-hoon's rage ignited.

Even half-conscious, half-dead, he lunged.

His fist connected with Seok-jin's face—

A sickening crack.

Seok-jin stumbled back, cursing.

"Kill him."

The men moved.

And Ji-hoon knew—

This was the end.

3. Love in the Line of Fire

The door slammed open.

Gunshots echoed.

Men shouted, scattering.

Ji-hoon's blurred vision caught a silhouette.

Hana.

Gun in hand.

Eyes blazing.

"Get away from him," she growled.

Seok-jin chuckled.

"Look at that," he mused. "The princess knows how to bite."

Hana's hands trembled.

She had never fired a gun before.

But she didn't have to.

Because in that moment, she wasn't afraid.

She was furious.

Ji-hoon tried to stand—

Pain ripped through him.

Seok-jin smirked.

"You won't shoot me," he taunted.

Hana's finger tightened on the trigger.

"Try me."

The room was silent.

Then—

Sirens.

Seok-jin's eyes flickered.

He cursed.

"You got lucky," he spat at Ji-hoon.

Then—

He disappeared into the shadows.

The other men followed.

Hana ran.

Dropped to her knees beside Ji-hoon.

Pressed her hands against his wound.

"Stay with me," she pleaded.

Ji-hoon smirked.

"You're a terrible shot."

She let out a choked laugh.

"Shut up."

He reached up, brushing her cheek.

"You saved me."

Tears filled her eyes.

"You saved me first."

Then—

He passed out.

4. A Love Worth Dying For

The hospital room was cold.

Ji-hoon blinked awake.

Pain throbbed.

But the first thing he saw—

Hana.

Asleep, curled up in the chair beside his bed.

His heart clenched.

She had stayed.

She always stayed.

Carefully, he reached out, brushing his fingers through her hair.

She stirred.

Then—

Sleepy eyes met his.

"Idiot," she whispered.

He smiled.

"Hey."

Tears welled in her eyes.

"You almost died."

He exhaled.

"But I didn't."

She sniffled.

Then—

She climbed onto the bed.

Curled into him.

Ji-hoon's arms wrapped around her.

Tight.

Safe.

She pressed a soft kiss against his chest.

"You're stuck with me," she murmured.

His lips curved.

"Good."

Because for the first time in his life—

He wasn't afraid of love.

---

5. A Future Worth Fighting For

Seok-jin was gone.

For now.

Ji-hoon knew he would come back.

But this time—

He wouldn't be running.

Because he had something to fight for.

Hana squeezed his hand.

He looked at her.

And knew—

No matter what came next, they would face it together.
