The spell shot toward Harry, but the moment it hit, Moody stumbled back with a sharp cry, clutching his head. He staggered a step, his wooden leg scraping noisily against the stone floor. Blood trickled from his nose as his magical eye whirled violently before stopping altogether.

"Merlin's beard!" someone whispered from the back.

The room went silent. All eyes were locked on Moody, who straightened with difficulty, wiping the blood from his nose with the back of his hand. His gaze shifted to Harry, narrowed and scrutinizing.

Harry raised an eyebrow, his expression calm but faintly amused. "I did warn you, Professor."

Moody let out a raspy, wheezy chuckle, though there was something strained in it. "Clever lad. Very clever." He eyed Harry closely, as though trying to figure out how he done it. "Strong mental walls, stronger than most I've seen. But more than that… you turned the curse back on me, didn't you?"

Harry gave a half-smile, offering no further explanation. Without waiting for another word from Moody, he turned and walked back to his seat, the curious and stunned eyes of the class following him the entire way. As he passed Daphne and Tracey, he caught sight of Blaise's smirk, who muttered just loud enough for those nearby to hear, "Show-off."

"Did you see that?" whispered Seamus, wide-eyed. "Moody looked like he got hit by a Bludger."

Dropping into his chair, Harry shrugged like nothing out of the ordinary had just happened. Across the room, Ron's mouth was still slightly open, while Hermione looked torn between curiosity and disapproval. Neville glanced nervously between Harry and Moody, as if expecting the professor to lash out at any moment.

Moody, still standing at the front of the room, wiped the last of the blood from his nose with the back of his hand. His magical eye swiveled toward the rest of the class, landing on Draco, who immediately stiffened. "Next," Moody growled, his voice rougher than before.

Draco's smirk faltered slightly as he got up, clearly less confident than usual. He walked to the front of the class, trying to maintain his usual cool demeanor, but Harry could tell by the stiffness in his posture that he wasn't thrilled about being the center of attention.

Moody wasted no time. The moment Draco stood before him, he pointed his wand and cast the curse. "Imperio!"

Draco's face went slack for a moment, his eyes losing focus as the spell took hold. A tense silence filled the room as everyone waited to see what would happen. Harry observed quietly, noting the slight twitch in Draco's jaw—a sign that he was trying to resist. After a few moments, Draco's hand jerked upward, then stopped halfway.

"Come on, Draco," Blaise muttered under his breath, leaning forward slightly.

Draco's fingers clenched into a fist, and with visible effort, he forced his arm back down. The blank look in his eyes faded, replaced by something sharper—determined, even.

"Good," Moody grunted, lowering his wand. "Not bad, Malfoy. You broke through it faster than most do on their first try."

Draco exhaled slowly, regaining his composure before turning back toward his seat. He shot Harry a quick glance as he passed in thank you.

Moody's magical eye continued to scan the room. "Next! Greengrass."

Daphne sighed but stood up without complaint, brushing her hair back as she walked to the front. Moody raised his wand again, repeating the incantation. Daphne stiffened slightly as the spell hit her, but unlike Draco, she didn't falter for long. Within seconds, she pushed back, her expression hardening as she broke free of the curse's influence.

Moody lowered his wand, nodding once. "Quick recovery. Well done, Greengrass."

As Daphne returned to her seat, Tracey gave her a teasing grin. "Look at you, handling it like a pro."

"Unlike some people," Daphne shot back, though there was no real bite in her tone.

Tracey rolled her eyes but didn't argue. The lesson continued, with Moody calling up students one by one to face the Imperius Curse. Some, like Blaise and Theodore, managed to resist after a few tries, while others struggled more, needing multiple attempts to shake off the curse's influence. Despite the varying levels of success, it was clear that Harry's techniques had given them an edge.

When it was Tracey's turn, she walked up with her usual confident swagger, flashing a grin at Daphne before turning to face Moody. The moment the curse hit her, however, her grin vanished, replaced by a brief look of confusion. She stood frozen for a moment, then blinked rapidly, visibly trying to focus. After a tense few seconds, her shoulders relaxed slightly, and she shook her head, breaking free.

Moody grunted approvingly. "Good effort. Took a bit longer, but you got there in the end."

Tracey returned to her seat, looking a bit shaken but mostly satisfied. "Well, that was... unpleasant," she muttered, dropping into her chair.

Harry glanced at her. "You still broke free. Kudos to you."

By the time dinner arrived, news had spread like wildfire across the castle—Harry Potter's technique worked, and not a single student had fallen victim to Moody's Imperius Curse. Conversations buzzed at every table, voices rising and falling in excitement. It wasn't just the students who had taken part in the Duelling Club sessions who were talking; the whole school seemed to be caught up in it.

Sitting at the Slytherin table, Harry ate calmly, unfazed by the attention. Daphne sat across from him, occasionally giving curious looks as students passed by, whispering behind their hands. Tracey leaned closer, grinning as she plucked a slice of bread from Harry's plate without asking.

"Looks like you started a new trend, Potter," she said, amusement lacing her tone. "Mental defense lessons? Pretty soon they'll be begging you to start your own class."

Harry shot her a sideways glance but didn't respond. Instead, he reached for a bowl of roasted potatoes, ignoring the growing number of glances being thrown his way from nearby tables. He wasn't interested in being the center of attention, though it seemed inevitable at this point.

"They'll get bored once the novelty wears off," Blaise said lazily, swirling his goblet of pumpkin juice. "Give it a week, and they'll be back to talking about Tournament and who's dating who."

"Doubt it," Daphne cut in. "This isn't just a school thing. If this gets out—and it will—people outside Hogwarts are going to want to know. Who wouldn't want a way to resist the Imperius Curse?"

Tracey snickered. "Bet the Ministry's already scrambling to figure out how Harry pulled this off. They've been trying to teach anti-Imperius techniques for years, and here comes Potter with his 'let's practice mental walls' approach."

Harry looked at Susan, who was seated next to him. "Did Aunty say anything?" he asked, picking at a piece of toast on his plate.

Susan shook her head, brushing back a strand of her hair. "She's busy with the delegations. Last I heard, the Triwizard Tournament caused another round of chaos. With Skeeter fueling the flames, Aunty has her hands full."

Hermione, seated across from Susan, scoffed audibly as she poured herself some tea. "Do people really buy what that woman writes? It's nothing but dramatized rubbish."

Luna, who was perched calmly next to Hermione, gave a little shrug. "People often take what's written at face value. When Papa sells more Quibblers, everyone will finally know about Wrackspurts."

Harry smirked and shook his head, leaning back slightly. "Well, if it's for Aunty Amelia, I might share my mental defense technique. That'll keep Skeeter quiet for a bit."

Susan raised an eyebrow, her lips twitching with amusement. "You think Skeeter would back off if you did? She'd probably spin it into a story about how you're building a secret army at Hogwarts."

Harry let out a dry laugh. "Let her try. I would love to see her twist that into something believable."
