Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 92: Chapter 92-The True serve

After the first point of the match was scored by Gora, the captain of Ubugawa, he jumped and powerfully spiked the ball once again toward Karasuno's court.

"This time it's mine!" Tanaka shouted, determinedly positioning himself in front of the served ball. He thrust his arms forward, successfully receiving the ball and directing the pass to Kageyama.

"Nice receive!" Kageyama said as he positioned himself under the ball, thinking about what the first play should be.

"Here!" Hinata called out, raising his hand and starting to run. Kageyama then set the ball high and away from the net for Hinata, who faced a triple block from Ubugawa. As Hinata jumped, he spiked the ball off the side of the blockers' hands, sending it out of bounds and scoring the first point for Karasuno.

1-1 Tied.

"Kageyama, put some power into your serve!" Daichi shouted as he watched Kageyama grab the ball and move to the serving position. Kageyama tossed the ball up and struck it hard toward Ubugawa's court.

"It's mine!" Gora said, positioning himself to receive the ball. However, the ball hit his hands awkwardly, and the reception didn't go well.

"Cover me!" Gora yelled as he watched the ball fly away.

"Ashiya-san!" called out Yukawa, who resembled Sugawara and was Ubugawa's setter, wearing the number 9 jersey. He used an underhand pass to set the ball to a spiker with messy, light-colored hair, wearing the number 2 jersey. The spiker jumped and faced a triple block from Tsukishima, Kageyama, and Hinata. While in the air, he attempted to break through Karasuno's block with a cross shot, but the ball hit Hinata's hands.

"Touched!" Hinata said.

"Free ball!" Daichi shouted as he calmly received the opponent's attack and directed the pass to Kageyama, who then set it to Tsukishima. After observing the triple block, Tsukishima simply tapped the ball over the blockers, and it landed on Ubugawa's court.

2-1 Karasuno.

"Alright! We're handling this match well too!" Takeda observed.

"Yes! Against Ubugawa, to win, we need to stay focused on their serves and not let them take control of the match using them. In other aspects, they're a decent team—they shouldn't be underestimated. But if we handle our receptions well, we have a good chance of winning!" Ukai analyzed.

The game continued with Karasuno maintaining some dominance until the score reached 9-5 in their favor. It was now Hinata's turn to serve.

"GO HINATA! SHOW THEM WHAT A REAL SERVE LOOKS LIKE!" Tanaka shouted.

"FINISH THEM!" Nishinoya yelled.

"Honestly, if we annoy one of the teams, we might not get invited back..." Sugawara said from the bench, sounding worried.

"They really are a bunch of idiots, but I don't think their shouting will be a problem," Tsukishima remarked in a disinterested tone from the bench.

"ALRIGHT! LET'S DO THIS!" Hinata said excitedly as he tossed the ball up and hit it with all his strength, focusing on power as the ball flew toward Ubugawa's court.

"I'LL STOP IT!" Ashiya shouted as he saw the ball coming his way. But as he extended his arms, he felt the ball explode off his hands and fly out of bounds.

10-5. Karasuno

"Wow! Karasuno's number 10 really has a powerful serve!" Bokuto said as he watched Hinata's serve.

"Yeah, looking at it now, it almost seems like he was holding back against us..." Akaashi added.

"Doesn't matter! I'll stop him!" Bokuto said, laughing.

"I want to try receiving those serves again!" Yaku said excitedly.

"If you want, I can serve for you! It shouldn't be that hard!" Lev chimed in.

"Your serves are terrible!" Yaku retorted.

"It's not fair! He's only a first-year and already so good, and he even went on a date with that beautiful manager!" Yamamoto said, almost in tears.

"Oh, seriously? That's amazing!" Kuroo said, impressed.

"One more!" Hinata thought as he hit the ball again, this time aiming toward Isehara, Ubugawa's libero wearing the number 7 jersey, who had parted hair.

"Damn it!" Isehara exclaimed as the ball hit his arms and flew away. The same thing happened once more until he finally managed to pop the ball up.

"Nice receive!" Yukawa said as he positioned himself under the ball and set it to Gora, who faced a block from Daichi, Tanaka, and Asahi. As Gora jumped, he spiked the ball off the tips of Tanaka's fingers, sending it out of bounds at the back of the court.

12-6 Karasuno.

"Nice spike, Gora-san!" Yukawa said.

"Thanks. Focus on the serve—we need to destabilize their defense. If we don't, they'll keep attacking with that super-quick play. We can't let them do whatever they want!" Gora instructed his teammates.

The game continued, with Ubugawa attempting a comeback with their serves, but it wasn't enough to win the set, which ended 25-19 in Karasuno's favor.

NOTE: I'd like to explain something that confused some people regarding the moments when there are two middle blockers on the court. Basically, their rotations are always tied to the libero's. So, in Karasuno, when Tsukishima or Asahi are serving, it's the moment when Nishinoya is substituted by one of the two who are on the bench. If Karasuno serves with one of them and loses the point, the one who served will be substituted back by Nishinoya.
