"I—-I can?" Old Master Tong was stunned. He did not think that Yu Dong would allow him to enter the banquet.

"What? You don't want to?" Yu Dong asked with an annoyed expression and Old Master Tong straightened up with a flinch. He shook his head and then said to Yu Dong,

"I…I just thought that you wouldn't want me to go inside," Old Master Tong confessed with a slightly guilty expression. He had never treated Yu Dong well as he did not like her grandfather, even her mother died because of him and his selfishness.

It would not be wrong to say that he was the cause of Yu Dong's family almost getting ruined.

He wanted to hand this ring to Yu Tong during the wedding procession but it was too crowded and he couldn't get close to her at all.

What was more, his daughter refused to attend the wedding, despite knowing that there were ceremonies that needed her presence which made Old Master Tong even more embarrassed and he was too afraid to show his face.

"I do have many grudges against you," Yu Dong stated, causing Old Master Tong to flinch. "However, I am not foolish and selfish enough to carry those grudges on my sleeves."

"Our grudges are our own to bear but this has nothing to do with Yu Tong, I will not bar you from seeing her just because I don't get along with you. I am not that childish."

"She might be upset with you but somewhere she still cares about you and Second Aunt," Yu Dong closed her eyes as she pushed her hands into the pockets of her pants.

"She will be happy if you go and bless her. After all, you are still her family in the end."

Old Master Tong's eyes turned red. Now he understood why his granddaughter liked Yu Dong more than their family.

If he didn't wake up then he might as well have done the same thing as his daughter. He would have ignored Yu Tong and Lin Hanjing, because of his ego and anger.

However, Yu Dong was different, she cared for Yu Tong enough to set aside their grudges.

"T—-Thank you," Old Master Tong bowed his head and then walked inside the Yu house. As soon as he stepped inside the house, a hush fell all over the banquet.

Old Master Tong stiffened thinking that his presence had caused the banquet to become stiff.

'I—-should just hand this gift and leave,' Old Master Tong thought worriedly. He did not want to make trouble on Yu Tong's wedding day and make her resent him even more.

He wanted to walk over to where Yu Tong was sitting and hand her the golden ring but his legs seemed to have turned into jelly.

He couldn't move them no matter what he did.

"Old Master Tong…were you beaten and dragged here?" Old Master Tong continued to stand still because of his fear, he resembled a scared rabbit as he looked at the people staring at him.

But why were they looking at him with….sympathy?

"Beaten…? No, I was not. Who will beat me?" Old Master Tong mused, causing the woman to look at him in surprise as she remarked, "Oh, you were not. Just now Madam Yu said something really cruel. So we thought that she dragged you here."

"No, I didn't," Yu Dong griped. Her expression was filled with anger and annoyance. "Do you think I will do something so cruel like beating a mer and then dragging him here?"

Only silence gritted her, causing Yu Dong to click her tongue in annoyance.

"Fine, I will do that but not on the day of my cousin's wedding. I am a better person than that!"

"Oh."

"What do you mean by oh?" Yu Dong snapped like a cat whose tail had been stepped on causing the crowd of onlookers to look away.

Shen Li who stood next to his wife patted her on the arm when he saw that she was raging. "It is alright we like you how you are."

Yu Dong: "…"

"Grandpa?" On the other side, Yu Tong turned to look at Old Master Tong. Earlier she was worried that Yu Dong dragged Old Master Tong with her because she was upset over the fact that the old Yu family did not attend the wedding.

But now that she had heard Old Master Tong say that no one beat him up and that he came to look for her on his own accord, she heaved a sigh of relief.

"Ah—-Ah Tong, don't get me wrong," Old Master Tong said in a voice which was no higher than that of a mosquito's humming.

"I only came to hand you a small gift." He pushed the red cloth he was holding in his hands into Yu Tong's before saying, "I could only buy this …with the money that I had. It's small but once you have children you can make him or her wear it, it will fit them perfectly."

"I wanted to buy a bigger one but——"

He was still blabbering when Yu Tong reached forward and hugged him.

She said to him, "Thank you for coming to bless me and my husband, Grandpa. I thought you would ignore me like my mother as well. It's good enough that you came to our wedding, I don't need anything else."

She knew that Old Master Tong must have fought with her mother for her sake. Only then he could appear in front of her like this.

Old Master Tong's eyes turned red as he realised what a good child he had lost. He buried his face into Yu Tong's chest as he muttered, "I am sorry, Ah Tong. I am so sorry."

If he had known that his actions would lead to such dire consequences and caused his family to be ripped apart like this, then he would have treated his family in a much better manner.

"It's okay grandpa…I can not forget what you have done but let's move on from the past alright?"
