Genshin Impact: Villain Life Sim

Chapter 87: Villain Simulator, Ch 263

"Well, well," Lucas said, looking down at Childe with an air of superiority. "So, even the great Lord Tartaglia, always seeking strong opponents to fight, can show such a fearful expression?"

"Don't be ridiculous!" Childe roared in anger. "How could I possibly lose to a weakling like you—an ant that scurried beneath my feet!"

Smack!

Another dull thud resounded as Lucas's iron whip struck Childe's right hand, reducing it to a mangled, bloody pulp.

"Ahhh!!" Childe's agonized scream echoed through the Golden House. He looked utterly wretched, a far cry from the proud and arrogant figure he had been just moments ago.

"This hand," Lucas said as he stepped on Childe's mutilated right hand, grinding it underfoot, "was the one you used to kill my father, wasn't it?"

The iron whip still clung to tendons and bones, sending waves of excruciating pain through Childe's body. Sweat poured down his face, and he was in so much pain that he couldn't even muster a response.

"Lord Tartaglia, I know everything about you," Lucas continued, his voice eerily calm. "Not because I admire you, but because I've spent every moment thinking about how to make you feel something worse than death itself."

Childe glared at Lucas with a mixture of rage and fear—two emotions rarely, if ever, seen on his face.

"You really are lucky," Lucas said, taking a few photographs out of his pocket and throwing them onto the ground in front of Childe. "You have a warm family—older siblings, younger siblings…"

Childe looked down, his eyes widening as he saw the photos. They were images of his family, taken from a distance, clearly without their knowledge.

Childe, who had long lived in darkness, knew full well what these photos meant. If someone could take such pictures so easily, they could just as easily take their lives.

"And this one," Lucas said, holding up the final photo before dropping it onto Childe's face. "This must be your little sister, Tonia, right? Let me return your earlier words to you: very soon, they'll join you in the other world."

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

Enraged beyond reason, Childe let out a primal roar. Suddenly, golden talismans surrounded him, swirling like an ominous storm. In his madness, he screamed, "If that's the case, I'll awaken the ancient god sealed by the Geo Spear and let's see how you handle it!"

"You plan to use the Forbidden Talismans to unseal Osial and have it help you?" Rex Lapis spoke, his tone as calm as ever. "If so, that means… you've broken the pact."

"Who cares about your damn—"

Before Childe could finish his sentence, his mouth abruptly stopped moving. Jagged, sharp rocks had somehow filled his mouth, forcing it open and silencing him. His body swelled grotesquely, and sharp stones suddenly burst forth from his flesh.

In mere moments, Childe was transformed into a terrifying stone statue.

This was the true meaning of the "Punishment of Eating Stone."

Compared to the chilling legends sung in Snezhnaya's nursery rhymes, this scene was far more terrifying.

Then, with a thunderous rumble, the ground beneath them began to quake. Rex Lapis shook his head and sighed. "It seems the Geo Spear's seal has already been undone. The Vortex God, Osial, is about to return to the world."

"Forgive me…" Lucas said, his tone tinged with regret. "I let my hatred blind me. I wanted to torment him further and gave him the opportunity to break the seal."

Despite the brutality of Lucas's actions toward Childe, Rex Lapis, as a god, remained completely unshaken.

"This reaction doesn't seem like you," Rex Lapis said, placing a hand on Lucas's shoulder. "Now, I offer you two choices. First, I can personally intervene and seal Osial once more. But that will mean Liyue can never truly stand on its own. Second…" Rex Lapis extended both hands. In one hand, he held nothing; in the other, the Gnosis glimmered faintly with a golden light. "I can entrust you with the authority of the Gnosis. From this moment on, you will bear the duties of a god in a mortal's body."

With a snap of his fingers, Rex Lapis made the choice clear.

"Well, this is a tough one for someone as indecisive as me," Lucas said with a wry smile. Finally, he reached out and grasped the Gnosis. "So… the power I used earlier—that also came from this Gnosis?"

Rex Lapis would never casually entrust the Gnosis to just anyone. However, during Lucas's battle with Childe, the Geo Archon had sensed something—a potential within Lucas, buried deep within his mortal frame.

Still, this wasn't about creating a new Geo Archon. If it were, Rex Lapis's actions would have been meaningless.

"The Gnosis doesn't enhance strength," Rex Lapis explained. "A god creates the Gnosis; the Gnosis does not create the god. Remember this: I will be watching you in the shadows. If you ever stray from your principles, I will personally enact the Punishment of Eating Stone upon you."

Lucas glanced at Childe, now transformed into a terrifying stone effigy, and couldn't help but gulp. He exhaled quietly, relieved that he hadn't entertained any treacherous thoughts toward Rex Lapis. Otherwise, it might have been him standing as a lifeless statue.

"Now then…" Lucas said, holding the Gnosis in his hand. A confident smile spread across his face. "Let's stir up some chaos!"
