evolution with the white lizard

Chapter 21: The Hidden Predator

Lizarius stood on a nearby tree, looking down at the wolves tearing each other apart. Smoke rose from the forest, a testament to the fiery battle.

The two wolf leaders charged at each other. The Wind Wolf leader unleashed multiple wind slashes, which the Flaming Wolf leader countered with a larger blue fireball. The attacks collided, creating a powerful explosion.

The Flaming Wolf leader leaped through the explosion, jaws wide open, lunging at the Wind Wolf leader. The Wind Wolf leader jumped as well, jaws agape. They clashed in midair, then landed on the ground, continuing their fierce fight.

Lizarius, still invisible, glided down from the tree, his wings barely making a sound. Looks like the big bosses have finally made their move, he thought.

He landed amidst the smoke, which obscured the carnage. Through the haze, he saw the corpses of Flaming Wolves, marked with deep cuts, and the charred remains of Wind Wolves. The packs continued their brutal battle.

Lizarius walked towards the corpse of a Flaming Wolf, his yellow eyes glowing. He opened his mouth. I guess I have to thank you for dying, he thought, and bit down on the corpse, beginning to devour it. After a while, the system announced, "Gain 100 Evolution Points and 2 Flaming Wolf Genes."

Lizarius finished eating, raising his head, his mouth covered in blood. 100 points? That must have been a Rank 2 beast, he thought. He licked the blood from his mouth and, still invisible, walked towards another wolf corpse, continuing his feast.

The Wind Wolves and Flaming Wolves continued their relentless battle. The more you kill each other, the more points I get, Lizarius thought.

Half an hour later, Lizarius, still invisible, finished eating another wolf corpse. The system announced, "Gain 3,700 Evolution Points, 36 Flaming Wolf Genes, and 33 Wind Wolf Genes."

The wolves abruptly stopped fighting, their eyes fixed on the spot where Lizarius stood, growling and baring their teeth. Lizarius looked back at them. I guess they've caught on, he thought.

As he slowly turned visible, he continued, I didn't think it would take so long, with so many bones lying around. Multiple wolf skeletons littered the ground, and smoke still lingered in the air.

The wolves, seeing Lizarius appear out of nowhere, were shocked and began to growl, their eyes fixed on him.
