DRIVER 88 (The Death Race Saga).

Chapter 9: CHAPTER 9: THE PRISON BREAK

---

1. The Fire Inside

Jaxon knelt beside Lucas's motionless body, his mind a storm of rage and grief.

The Warden's voice crackled through the prison loudspeakers.

"And just like that… The Ghost is gone. Pity. But hey, at least Driver 88 is still alive. For now."

Laughter echoed from the guards' watchtower.

Jaxon's fists trembled.

They thought this was a game.

They thought he was just another pawn in their twisted show.

But they were wrong.

Jaxon was done playing.

His breath was steady. His heartbeat was slow.

He was going to burn Blackridge to the ground.

And it started tonight.

---

2. The Death Race Aftermath

The prison gates hissed open, and armed guards swarmed the track, dragging Jaxon to his feet.

"Move, 88." One of them shoved him forward.

Jaxon didn't resist. Not yet.

His eyes flicked to Lucas's body.

He had to let them think he was broken.

They dumped him back into Solitary.

A cold, windowless concrete box.

A place designed to break men.

Jaxon sat in the darkness.

Waiting.

Planning.

The Warden thought he'd won.

But he had just made the worst mistake of his life.

---

3. The Silent Messenger

Hours passed. Maybe days.

Then—a sound.

A faint metallic scrape against the door.

Jaxon tensed.

Then, a tiny slip of paper slid under the door.

He snatched it up.

One word.

"Midnight."

No signature. No name.

But Jaxon didn't need one.

Vera.

She hadn't abandoned him.

The plan was in motion.

At midnight, Blackridge would burn.

---

4. The Riot Begins

At exactly 11:59 PM, the power cut out.

A second later, alarms blared.

Screams erupted across the prison.

Jaxon grinned.

Vera had set off a riot.

The doors to Solitary groaned and—BANG!

The locks blew open.

Jaxon burst into the hallway.

Prisoners roamed free.

Fires raged.

Guards were getting torn apart.

Blackridge was collapsing.

And in the chaos, Jaxon had only one goal:

Get to the Warden.

---

5. The Hunt for the Warden

Jaxon sprinted through the prison corridors, dodging fights, stepping over bodies.

A riot shotgun lay discarded by a fallen guard.

He picked it up. Fully loaded.

He reached the Warden's tower.

Guards swarmed the entrance.

"Drop your weapon, 88!"

Jaxon didn't.

Instead, he pulled the trigger.

BOOM.

The first guard dropped.

BOOM.

The second followed.

The others hesitated.

Jaxon didn't.

He mowed them down.

Then he kicked the door open and stormed inside.

---

6. The Final Showdown

The Warden sat behind his desk, perfectly calm, swirling a glass of whiskey.

"Well, well… I knew you'd make it this far."

Jaxon raised the shotgun. "You killed my brother."

The Warden smirked.

"Did I?"

Jaxon froze.

The Warden tapped his desk, and a screen flickered to life.

The video feed showed Lucas. Alive.

Strapped to a chair. Bloody, but breathing.

"He's not dead, Driver 88. But if you pull that trigger… he will be."

Jaxon's finger hovered over the trigger.

Rage battled against reason.

The Warden leaned forward.

"So, Jaxon… what's it gonna be?"
