DRIVER 88 (The Death Race Saga).

Chapter 12: CHAPTER 12: THE FALL OF BLACKRIDGE

---

1. A Standoff in the Tower

The room was suffocating with tension.

The Warden stood frozen, Vera's gun cold against his skull.

Jaxon didn't lower his shotgun.

Lucas was still strapped to the chair, the bomb timer ticking down. 00:02:36.

"You should've stayed on the track, 88," the Warden said, voice eerily calm.

Jaxon tightened his grip.

"You should've stayed out of my way."

The Warden smirked.

"Even if you kill me, that bomb still goes off."

Jaxon exhaled slowly.

Vera didn't flinch.

"Then we better make sure you die first."

The Warden's confidence faltered.

And in that split second—Jaxon moved.

---

2. The Shot Heard Across Blackridge

Jaxon fired first.

The blast hit the Warden's leg, shattering his knee.

He screamed, collapsing to the floor.

Vera kicked his gun away and knelt beside him, pressing harder.

"Deactivate the bomb."

Blood pooled beneath him.

"Or what?" the Warden gasped, gritting his teeth.

Jaxon chambered another round.

"Or I start with the other knee."

The Warden swallowed hard.

The countdown blinked.

00:01:52.

"Code's in my desk," he spat.

Vera moved fast, yanking open the drawers.

Inside—a tablet with the detonator controls.

Her fingers flew across the screen.

ERROR.

Jaxon's stomach dropped.

"He changed the code," Vera growled.

The Warden chuckled, blood dribbling from his lips.

"Looks like we all go boom."

---

3. A Desperate Choice

Jaxon didn't hesitate.

He slammed the shotgun against the Warden's temple.

"Last chance."

The Warden just grinned, half-delirious with pain.

"You really think I'm afraid to die?"

Jaxon's jaw clenched.

No time.

He looked at Lucas—his baby brother, barely holding on.

Then at Vera.

And finally, at the bomb timer.

00:00:37.

One option left.

"Vera. Take Lucas and run."

She froze.

"Jaxon—"

"GO!"

Vera cursed, unstrapping Lucas in seconds.

Jaxon grabbed the Warden by his bloodied collar and hauled him up.

"If I die, you're coming with me."

The Warden finally looked afraid.

---

4. Breaking Point

Vera dragged Lucas out the door.

Jaxon held the Warden in a death grip.

00:00:15.

The walls shook—alarms screamed across Blackridge.

Guards flooded the halls.

Jaxon pushed forward, hauling the Warden toward the glass window.

The Warden's eyes widened.

"Jaxon, wait—"

Too late.

Jaxon jumped.

---

5. The Fall

Glass exploded.

They plummeted from the tower.

The wind ripped past them.

Jaxon twisted midair, slamming the Warden beneath him as they crashed onto a transport truck below.

BOOM!

The tower erupted.

A shockwave ripped through Blackridge.

Flames swallowed the sky.

Jaxon rolled off the Warden's lifeless body, coughing up blood.

His vision blurred.

Then—hands pulled him up.

Vera.

Lucas.

Alive.

The prison was in ruins.

And the Warden?

Finally dead.

---

6. The Legend of Driver 88

By sunrise, Blackridge was no more.

The Death Races? Finished.

Jaxon, Vera, and Lucas vanished into the smoke—free.

But whispers spread across America.

A ghost of the underground.

A name spoken in fear and awe.

Driver 88.

The man who raced through hell—

And burned it to the ground.
