Chapter 19: Chapter 19
Earth, Northern Territories.
A barren and desolate valley stretched as far as the eye could see.
In the middle of this lifeless landscape, a massive arena stood prominently. Its design closely resembled the World Martial Arts Tournament arena.
At the center of the arena stood a peculiar life form covered in a green shell — Cell.
However, Cell's current appearance had changed significantly from before. He had reached his perfect form, yet something was off.
His face, which should have belonged solely to Cell, had now taken on the appearance of Vegeta.
Even the aura emanating from his body was unmistakably Vegeta's.
"Heh heh!"
"Son Goku, you guys finally made it."
Cell smirked as he looked at Goku and Trunks, who stood not far away.
"Well! Cell, the last time I saw you, you didn't look like this."
"I didn't expect you to turn into Vegeta!"
Goku's tone was calm, but it was clear from everyone's serious expressions that this situation was no joke.
They all realized that after absorbing Vegeta, Cell had not only achieved his perfect form but had also fully adopted Vegeta's appearance and aura.
It was unsettling, as if they were facing their old comrade rather than a deadly foe.
"Heh heh, Kakarot, you're right."
"But the consciousness of Vegeta inside me demands that I use his power to defeat you!"
Suddenly, Vegeta's voice echoed from Cell's mouth.
Everyone was stunned and instinctively stared at Cell.
"Vegeta?"
"Even his voice has become Vegeta's!"
Goku's eyes widened in shock, unable to believe what he was hearing.
Cell was speaking in Vegeta's voice as though Vegeta himself was present.
"Father..."
"You bastard, Cell! I'll kill you!"
Trunks' rage ignited like a wildfire.
He charged forward, his fury palpable.
If not for Piccolo and Krillin holding him back with all their strength, Trunks would have launched himself straight at Cell.
"Trunks, calm down! Cell is incredibly strong now. Even I'm not sure I can beat him."
Goku's voice was heavy, a rare admission of uncertainty.
He knew Cell's current power was formidable.
Even though Goku had surpassed Vegeta's strength at the time, reaching the limits of Super Saiyan, defeating Cell was still a daunting challenge.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, the sound of something cutting through the air echoed.
A dark figure appeared in the distance, quickly drawing closer until it stood before everyone.
"It's... Mr. Katakana!"
Trunks recognized him immediately.
Though Katakana looked somewhat disheveled, Trunks could never forget the impression he'd left before — defeating Vegeta with a single blow and crippling Cell with a single punch.
Such overwhelming power was likely beyond even Goku's current strength.
"It's him... he's here too!"
"But where did he disappear to all this time? And how did he end up in such a state?"
At this moment, Android 18 naturally recognized Katakana.
After all, if it hadn't been for Katakana, she would have been absorbed by Cell.
In fact, after their last encounter, Android 18 had tried to search for Katakana's whereabouts.
She knew that Cell wouldn't let her go, and Goku and the others were no match for Cell at that time.
Staying by Katakana's side seemed to be the safest choice.
However, despite her efforts, she couldn't find Katakana anywhere.
It even made her wonder if he had vanished from the world.
But unexpectedly, he reappeared at this critical moment — just when she needed help the most.
This guy was truly mysterious.
"Trunks, is that Katakana?"
"But why can't I sense any energy fluctuations from him? Are you sure he really defeated both Cell and Vegeta with a single move?"
Looking at Katakana hovering midair, Goku scratched his head in confusion and turned to Trunks.
Although energy signatures don't fully define a person's strength, it was strange.
Even ordinary people who didn't practice martial arts had some traceable energy.
Yet Katakana gave off nothing — it was like facing an empty void.
"That's right, Goku. He's Mr. Katakana. But don't think he's weak just because you can't sense his energy."
"On the contrary, I believe Mr. Katakana's strength surpasses anything we can comprehend."
Trunks spoke with conviction.
He was confident in his assessment — even after Cell absorbed Vegeta's power, Katakana hadn't shown a shred of concern.
That alone proved he didn't take the "stronger" Cell seriously.
"Hmm, this guy really doesn't seem simple."
"Whether he's friend or foe, let's try not to provoke him. One Cell is already enough trouble..."
Goku sighed helplessly.
"Don't worry, Goku. I'm not your enemy."
Katakana seemed to have overheard their conversation. He descended slowly and landed beside them.
"Haha! Mr. Katakana, that's great!"
Hearing Katakana's words, Goku rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
"Tch... that guy is here too..."
"But from the looks of it, he doesn't seem as strong as he was a few days ago."
"No matter — now that I've reached my perfect form, neither he nor Son Goku can defeat me!"
Cell's lips curled into a confident smile.
Now that he had reached his perfect form, he firmly believed he was unbeatable.
The data indicated so.
Whether it was Goku or Katakana, they were just nuisances clinging together for survival.
"Weaklings will always be weaklings. No matter how many of you there are, it won't change your inevitable defeat!"
Perhaps due to absorbing Vegeta, even Cell's words had become as arrogant as Vegeta's.
"Don't get too full of yourself, Cell."
"Let's see how powerful you've become after absorbing Vegeta!"
Goku's expression hardened. He leaped forward, positioning himself opposite Cell.
"Tch, you're not planning to team up? Fine. If you want to be the first to die, I'll grant you that, Goku!"
Vegeta's consciousness within Cell seemed to grow stronger, constantly urging Cell to use his energy to defeat Goku.
