Douluo Dalu: Seven Kill Sword

Chapter 26: Bullying the Young

After meditating and restoring himself to his optimal condition, Chen Yuan placed the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone against his right leg.

Just this simple action caused his soul power to become highly active, eager to surge out of his body. Chen Yuan willingly released his soul power, allowing it to flow freely.

The moment his soul power made contact with the bone, the bone began to vibrate intensely. It transformed from a solid state into a gaseous one, forming a dense, blue energy that enveloped his right leg and gradually seeped into it.

The energy of the Blue Silver Emperor was relatively gentle compared to other hundred-thousand-year spirit beasts, but its sheer volume was overwhelming. Chen Yuan's entire right leg became immobile, feeling as though it might burst at any moment.

Although absorbing a spirit bone wasn't as dangerous as absorbing a spirit ring, Chen Yuan remained vigilant. He immediately entered a meditative state, using his soul power to accelerate the absorption process.

The effect was noticeable. The blue energy, which had been continuously merging into his right leg, began to spread throughout his entire body. Passing through his dantian as a central hub, the energy flowed into his limbs and bones, immersing Chen Yuan in a sea of blue energy. Though his body remained immobile, the gentle blue energy actively integrated into his system, enhancing his physical attributes.

This was a miraculous process. His physical strength and soul power were skyrocketing. Though Chen Yuan couldn't move, his mind remained clear. He could feel himself growing stronger at an astonishing rate.

Time passed minute by minute. The sun rose in the east and set in the west. By the end of the day, Chen Yuan had fully absorbed the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone.

Chen Yuan twitched his fingers, confirming that he had regained control of his body. As he moved his limbs slightly, he noticed how incredibly light his body felt, yet it also seemed to contain immense power, as if he could take down a thousand-year spirit beast with just a few punches.

There was no filth or impurities expelled from his body, as often happens after such transformations, but there were still changes. The calluses on his hands from years of sword practice had completely disappeared, a clear sign that his body had undergone a complete metamorphosis.

Chen Yuan smiled and said, "As expected of a hundred-thousand-year spirit bone. The improvement in physical strength is immeasurable, but my soul power has reached the level of a 39th rank. Absorbing this bone has not only increased my soul power by six levels but also refined its quality. I believe that from now on, using the same amount of soul power for my spirit skills will yield far greater results."

When a spirit beast reaches the hundred-thousand-year level, its energy undergoes a fundamental transformation. Its spirit rings and bones become treasures in the spirit master world, capable of providing immense power to those who absorb them.

Opportunities to refine and purify soul power like this were rare. After all, spirit masters were always eager to advance their cultivation as quickly as possible. Who would bother compressing and refining their soul power? And how much could a low-level spirit master even refine?

"I should leave. I need to get out of here as soon as possible."

Chen Yuan stood up and, within the narrow crevice, removed his cloak and cloth garments, tossing them into a pile. After changing back into his original clothes, he set the cloak and cloth on fire, watching as the flames consumed them, leaving only ashes behind.

With a single palm strike, Chen Yuan released a gust of soul power that scattered the ashes and blew away the stone blocking the entrance.

He then summoned his martial soul and activated his third spirit skill. The Seven Kill Sword transformed into a large silver sword, which Chen Yuan stepped onto before soaring into the sky.

As he flew, Chen Yuan pondered for a moment before activating one of the two spirit skills granted by the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone: Flight.

He wanted to test whether the flight effects could stack.

In the next instant, Chen Yuan was enveloped in a halo of light. Within the halo, his body seemed to lose all weight, becoming as light as a leaf drifting in the wind.

Chen Yuan raised an eyebrow. After activating the flight skill, his soul power consumption was halved, yet his speed continued to increase.

"Excellent. The flight effects can stack. At this rate, I might even surpass the pure agility-type spirit masters of the Min Clan. One skill for flight, another for regeneration—both are top-tier spirit skills."

Thinking of this, Chen Yuan's mood lifted. The gains from this trip were beyond his expectations.

Meanwhile, at Shrek Academy!

Zhao Wuji, one of the academy's teachers and known as the Immovable King, was resting when a voice suddenly rang in his ears.

"Zhao Wuji, come out!"

Zhao Wuji's expression changed drastically. The powerful voice had directly entered his ears, as if exploding right beside him. The depth of this person's cultivation was terrifying.

He considered fleeing, but realizing he was within the academy grounds, he thought that even if he couldn't win, the commotion would draw the attention of Flender, Li Yusong, Lu Xinyu, and others, who would come to his aid.

Following the voice, Zhao Wuji made his way to the small forest behind the academy. His eyes scanned the surroundings warily as he shouted, "Who's there? I'm here! Show yourself!"

A cold snort echoed, and a figure clad in black robes descended from the sky. The man spoke with authority, "Zhao Wuji, since you bullied the younger, I won't hold back. When the young are beaten, the old must come to settle the score!"

Zhao Wuji was stunned. Seeing the black-robed figure walking on air, he could only think of one terrifying possibility: this person was a Titled Douluo.

Stammering, he said, "Your Excellency, you must have the wrong person. When did I bully the younger? Could it be those four kids from earlier today…"

The black-robed figure, seeing that Zhao Wuji seemed to recall the incident, intensified his pressure. He extended his right hand, and a black light appeared in his palm. From the light emerged a uniquely shaped hammer. Beneath his feet, nine spirit rings appeared one after another: two yellow, two purple, four black, and finally a blood-red ring that exuded a terrifying aura, making the air feel heavy.

"Zhao Wuji, do you recognize this hammer?"

Zhao Wuji's eyes widened. First, because the black-robed man was indeed a Titled Douluo, and second, because the hammer reminded him of the one used by Tang San earlier that day. The two hammers were nearly identical.

"This… this… this… Flender, save me!"

Flender, who had been reluctant to intervene, could no longer stay hidden. He swiftly entered the forest and bowed respectfully to the black-robed figure. "Your Excellency, Zhao Wuji is a teacher at our academy. He was merely conducting an assessment for the students. Although he may have been a bit heavy-handed, he meant no harm. Moreover, he has already suffered enough. Please show him mercy."

The black-robed figure was none other than Tang Hao. His voice was low as he said, "I know. If it weren't for that, I would have already killed him. But since he broke the rules, I'll break them once as well. I won't use my martial soul. Come, let's spar. After this, the matter will be settled."

With that, Tang Hao retracted his martial soul, and the nine terrifying spirit rings vanished.

Flender breathed a sigh of relief and gave Zhao Wuji a meaningful look. Zhao Wuji's face was a mix of fear and resignation. He knew there was no escaping this beating. He cursed himself for being so eager to fight earlier, vowing never to do so again.

Zhao Wuji stepped forward, and Tang Hao immediately attacked. His fists rained down like hammers.

The small forest was soon filled with Zhao Wuji's screams, cries of pain, and the sound of fists meeting flesh.

Flender couldn't bear to watch. Although he often taught his students that avoiding trouble was a sign of mediocrity, there were exceptions. Bullying students from other academies was one thing, but facing a Titled Douluo was another. In such cases, it was better to swallow one's pride.

After what felt like an eternity, Zhao Wuji, now bruised and battered, lay on the ground, unwilling to move. He regretted ever laying a hand on Tang San.

Tang Hao, now speaking in a tone of mentoring a junior, said, "Zhao Wuji, do you understand now?"

Zhao Wuji nodded repeatedly. "I understand, I understand!"

In his heart, he wept, thinking, "From now on, Tang San is my father. I can't afford to provoke him. The young one is trouble, and the old one is even worse."

Seeing that Zhao Wuji had learned his lesson, Tang Hao gave Flender a few final words of advice before disappearing in a gust of wind.

After settling the matter, Tang Hao flew through the night, returning from Shrek Academy to the waterfall valley. Entering the cave behind the waterfall, his eyes immediately fell on the Blue Silver Emperor.

Lying on the haystack, he gazed at the Blue Silver Emperor and began recounting the events of the past few days in a gentle voice, completely unaware of anything amiss.
