Li Ning woke up to the feeling of being soaked. Someone was shaking her as though it was to shake off her soul out of her body.

"Sa… Stop…" She managed to let out.

"Young Miss?? Oh!... My Lord! Young Miss. Can you hear me?" The person, whom Li Ning now knew was a female asked excitedly. But the person did not seize to shake her body.

"Please stop shaking me. I'm so dizzy…" Groaned the now fully conscious Li Ning.

She opened her eyes and saw the person who had woken her. The girl looked like she was in her late teens. Tears were in her eyes as she sucked in every movement made by Li Ning.

Li Ning ignored the throbbing pain in her head and sat up. She looked around confused about where she had woken up to. She was surrounded by dense green forest in her front and a clear lake at her back. The girl in front of her was also wearing Hanfu1.

"Young Miss… You…" The teen did not even finish what she was about to say before she pulled the confused Li Ning into her arms and started sobbing.

"I thought you were… Wahhh!!!"

Li Ning did not know how to react to the heart-breaking cries of the girl. Just then, she heard some rustling from the forest. And soon, four men, also dressed in ancient outfits came in front of her sight.

"My Lady!!"

"Eldest Miss!!"

Came their calls.

"Wait… I…"

Li Ning was about to question them. But the pain in her head which she had previously ignored became so intense that she clutched her head to bring some relief.

"My Lady. Are you okay?"

Li, because she was adopted into the Li family. The oldest memory of the current Li Ning was of her being brought into the Li family by the old master. "I'm okay…" She reassured. "I'm cold. Can we go back?"

She turned to one of the four men besides them. It seemed they had calmed themselves down, as they were facing their back towards them respectfully and hiding them from the sight of the rest of the people who were coming towards them.

"Xiao Han." She called the youngest of the men. "Can you go and get a rope for miss? Fast."

"On it." Without needing another word, he left.

Within a few minutes, Xiao Han returned with a robe. Xiao Yi covered Li Ning with the robe and turned her back to her.

"Miss. Get on me. I'll take you back to the temple courtyard."

Li Ning did as she was told. She got on Xiao Yi's back.

"You guys… should go back." Xiao Yi said.

"But_" Xiao Han wanted to refuse. But Tang Xing, who was their leader held him down.

"Xiao Han! Not now!"

The young teen could only follow leader and leave.

Li Ning: "…"

As someone who had just arrived into this world, she did not understand the dynamics of their conversation. It did not help that her past self of this world was not that intelligent. The only memories she had of these men where that they were one of the staffs in the Li family who treated her better.

Not even a minute after the men left, someone came rushing.

"What happened?"

When she asked what had happened, the maid replied.

"Young Miss Li Ning had fallen into the lake."

She did not wait for another second and rushed to where the lake was. Though she was not fond of the little fool, if something bad happened to her, especially when she was the one leading them, she would be held accountable by the Old Master Li. Not to mention, her only daughter's panicky looks indicated that she had something to do with the incident.

'I only hope that the fool's luck1 is with her.' She prayed. Not because was concerned for Li Ning. But because she did not want to bring trouble to herself and her daughter.

When she arrived, she noticed some staffs leaving from the direction of the lake. But she did not think too much into it. The rest of the people following her also did the same, thinking they were just another visitor of the temple.

"What happened?" Li Ning heard the voice of Madam Li. And cursed in her mind.

"Young Miss fell into the lake." Xiao Yi did not greet the Madam. But instead glared at the young ladies who were following behind her.

"What… Why are you looking at me like that?" Li Yan Yan, the daughter of Madam Li had a guilty conscience.

Xiao Yi had a lot she wanted to say. But she restrained herself. Her identity now did not allow her to talk freely against these people.

"My lady needs to change her clothes. I need to go to the temple courtyard. Madam Li. If you could please arrange for it to be faster."

"Yes. Yes…" Madam Li nodded. "Someone hurry. Run to the temple to arrange a courtyard for Li Ning to change her clothes. Hurry!"

One of the maids ran away.
